Story
Hello! My name is Chester!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since August 2023! I am a friendly boy who can be nervous at first; once I get to know you and I feel at home, I am a big softie! When I`m feeling unsure, you may notice my tail swooshing and that`s my communication to say I need a little break. Once I feel comfortable with you, I will rub against your legs, sit on your lap and tell you how much I love you with my little meows. My new family should know that I came to GHS with a history of IBD/enteritis - thankfully my friends at GHS worked very hard to assess me and developed a plan that has been very successful! I am on a special diet and a few supplement to keep me feeling happy and healthy. I am looking for a family that is committed to continuing my treatment plan so I can feel my best self!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Older, mature children may be okay; I would be best suited to a calm, mature homeOTHER CATS: I have lived with cats before and could be a good match after a gradual introduction.DOGS: Yes, with a respectful dog and gradual introduction.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous cat experience. SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: MediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Yes - Hypoallergenic HP diet + gastro supplementsIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hi, my name is Izzy!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since December 2023! The GHS family thinks I`m awesome because I can play `hard to get` but I am a big softy once you get to know me! Some of my favorite things include catnip, catnip, and more catnip; if you bring me a pinch or two, I`ll show you my wild and goofy side! I am a low-key lady who likes to spend the rest of my day lounging when I`m not being loved on by the shelter staff. My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn`t be a `big deal` to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers or older respectful children please!OTHER CATS: Potentially, if they are also FELV + and with a slow and careful introductionDOGS: Potentially, with a calm, respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some cat experienceSOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Story
Hello, my name is Toad!Give me a smooch and I`ll be your Prince for life! Or was that a frog... either way, I`ll still be your Prince. My foster mom says I`m the perfect mix of both cuddly and playful - I love to sleep on your lap and will chase any toy with a bell or a laser! When I came to GHS, I was a sick little fella; my friends at GHS have fixed me up and made me feel all better! Stress may trigger occasional flare-ups, so I`m looking for a family that enjoys a Zen environment. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and lots of love to your home. Won`t you consider making me a part of your family?MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-highIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Bach is a 2 month old domestic shorthair brown tabby male with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Please read the entire profile as he has special needs. His condition will not progress or cause his life to be any shorter than any other kitten, it just makes him a little extra special. Meet Bach, a kitten with a symphony of charm. This sweet and adorable soul is the maestro of mischief, his curiousity leading him to explore every corner of his surroundings. Bach is friendly to everyone he meets, his goofy antics warming the hearts of those around him. Despite having cerebellar hypoplasia, Bach doesn't let this hold him back. He climbs and runs to and fro. One of his favourite resting spots is the top of the cat tree. He's a testament to resilience, his spirit unbroken by his condition. Bach's infectious joy and unwavering courage make him the perfect companion. Adopt Bach and bring home a symphony of love and laughter. Bach and his siblings have something called cerebellar hypoplasia which is a congenital condition affecting the part of their brain responsible for motor function. Long story short, it causes cats to be uncoordinated and wobbly, which does not stop them from being able to do anything a cat needs to do. They love to play and wrestle together and are able to eat just fine. They are using the litter box with no troubles while at rescue and in their foster home. Each of the kittens have varying degrees of the signs of cerebellar hypoplasia. Bach's signs are very subtle. It's mostly noticed in his wobbliness in his back legs when he walks. We have a veterinary resource on cerebellar hypoplasia which we are happy to send to anyone interested in adopting Bach or his composer siblings but wanting to know more first about CH. We recommend speaking with your veterinarian first to know all the ins and outs of adopting a kitten with CH. Bach is a very sweet and affectionate boy. He would be best paired and adopted with one of his siblings, who would no doubt make their adoptive new family extremely happy and give them years of laughter, love and fun. All the composer siblings (Wagner, Tchaikovsky, and Schumann) LOVE to wrestle and would greatly benefit from a young cat in the home to play with and learn from. They do not like to be alone and need a furry companion to groom and cuddle with. Bach is neutered, vaccinated with his first FVRCP, and is microchipped. He will need two booster FVRCP vaccines and a rabies vaccine when age appropriate which will be the responsibility of his adopters. The adoption fee for a single kitten is $300 and $550 for a pair. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application.
