Story
Hello! My name is Chester!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since August 2023! I am a friendly boy who can be nervous at first; once I get to know you and I feel at home, I am a big softie! When I`m feeling unsure, you may notice my tail swooshing and that`s my communication to say I need a little break. Once I feel comfortable with you, I will rub against your legs, sit on your lap and tell you how much I love you with my little meows. My new family should know that I came to GHS with a history of IBD/enteritis - thankfully my friends at GHS worked very hard to assess me and developed a plan that has been very successful! I am on a special diet and a few supplement to keep me feeling happy and healthy. I am looking for a family that is committed to continuing my treatment plan so I can feel my best self!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Older, mature children may be okay; I would be best suited to a calm, mature homeOTHER CATS: I have lived with cats before and could be a good match after a gradual introduction.DOGS: Yes, with a respectful dog and gradual introduction.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I would do best with someone who has previous cat experience. SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: MediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Yes - Hypoallergenic HP diet + gastro supplementsIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hi, my name is Izzy!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since December 2023! The GHS family thinks I`m awesome because I can play `hard to get` but I am a big softy once you get to know me! Some of my favorite things include catnip, catnip, and more catnip; if you bring me a pinch or two, I`ll show you my wild and goofy side! I am a low-key lady who likes to spend the rest of my day lounging when I`m not being loved on by the shelter staff. My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn`t be a `big deal` to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers or older respectful children please!OTHER CATS: Potentially, if they are also FELV + and with a slow and careful introductionDOGS: Potentially, with a calm, respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some cat experienceSOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Hello, my name is Raven!I`m a friendly feline, always ready for a cuddle and some affection. I`m quite mellow, preferring to spend my days lounging and watching the world go by. Don`t mistake my calm demeanor for disinterest though, I`m incredibly curious. I love observing everything around me, taking in all the details. I may not be the most vocal, but my quiet observation is just my way of understanding my surroundings. I`m looking for a forever home where I can continue to be my mellow, curious self. If you`re seeking a cuddly companion who`ll be content just being by your side, then I`m the cat for you.My new family should know that I am FIV+, but it doesn`t slow me down one bit- my shelter friends recommend my new owner(s) research FIV or consult with their vet before submitting an application! MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction - speak with your Veterinarian about the potential risks given my FIV+ status.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Hello, my name is Felix!I`m what you`d call a `senior` in human years, but don`t let that fool you. I`m as spry and friendly as ever. I`m a simple cat, really. I adore lounging in my bed, taking long, satisfying naps. I`m the type to keep you company, quietly observing as you go about your day. My sweet, mellow demeanor makes me a perfect companion. I came to GHS with a chronic skin allergy - feline eosinophilic granuloma complex - whoa, that`s a lot of big words! Don`t let that scare you, my friends at GHS helped me get the care I need and now I`m on a once a day medication that is really helping me. I am looking for a family that can continue my care and speak with my Vet regularly to ensure I remain my happiest and healthiest! If you`re looking for a low-key, loving friend, I`m your cat. Story
Crush is a domestic shorthair black female who is 4 months old. She has a cute little grey spot to the right of her neck and is sister to Schweppes, and Baja Blast. Crush came to DRK from an outdoor colony with her siblings. We are so happy they were caught just in time before the weather began to turn super cold. These kittens are on the shy side, still adjusting to indoor sounds such as the tv, dishwasher, and vacuum. They are quite sweet and quick to purr and are adjusting to the good life quickly! They love to play with each other, but their favourite toy when not chasing one another is any ball track toys! Watching the ball spin round and round and trying to make it speed even faster is mesmerizing for these siblings. If you're looking for a pair of kittens or a single kitten as a playmate to your young cat or dog, you can't go wrong with our fizzy fizzy pop pop kittens! Crush is spayed, microchipped and is vaccinated for FVRCP. She will need her rabies vaccine when age appropriate which will be the responsibility of her adopters. Her adoption fee is $300 or $550 as a pair with a sibling. To apply, please submit an adoption application.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Wagner is a 2 month old domestic shorthair black female with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Please read the entire profile as she has special needs. Her condition will not progress or cause her life to be any shorter than any other kitten, it just makes her a little extra special. Meet Wagner, a kitten with a symphony of personality traits. Sweet as a morning serenade, she is a loyal companion who will always stay by your side. Her gentle nature is akin to a soothing lullaby, while her funny antics will have you laughing like a lively scherzo. Smart and curious, Wagner will explore her surroundings with the enthusiasm of a rousing overture. She's a cuddly, goofy, playful, and energetic little maestro, conducting her own orchestra of fun and love. Adopt Wagner and let her fill your life with her harmonious melody of companionship and joy. Wagner and her siblings have something called cerebellar hypoplasia which is a congenital condition affecting the part of their brain responsible for motor function. Long story short, it causes cats to be uncoordinated and wobbly, which does not stop them from being able to do anything a cat needs to do. They love to play and wrestle together and are able to eat just fine. They are using the litter box with no troubles while at rescue and in their foster home. Each of the kittens have varying degrees of the signs of cerebellar hypoplasia. Wagner's signs are very subtle. She sways back and forth slightly when sitting, walking, eating, and drinking. We have a veterinary resource on cerebellar hypoplasia which we are happy to send to anyone interested in adopting Wagner or her composer siblings but wanting to know more first about CH. We recommend speaking with your veterinarian first to know all the ins and outs of adopting a kitten with CH. Wagner is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She would be best paired and adopted with one of her siblings, who would no doubt make their adoptive new family extremely happy and give them years of laughter, love and fun. All the composer siblings (Tchaikovsky, Bach, and Schumann) LOVE to wrestle and would greatly benefit from a young cat in the home to play with and learn from. They do not like to be alone and need a furry companion to groom and cuddle with. Wagner is spayed, vaccinated with her first FVRCP, and is microchipped. She will need two booster FVRCP vaccines and a rabies vaccine when age appropriate which will be the responsibility of her adopters. The adoption fee for a single kitten is $300 and $550 for a pair. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application.
