Story
Hi, my name is Izzy!I have been patiently waiting for my fur-ever home since December 2023! The GHS family thinks I`m awesome because I can play `hard to get` but I am a big softy once you get to know me! Some of my favorite things include catnip, catnip, and more catnip; if you bring me a pinch or two, I`ll show you my wild and goofy side! I am a low-key lady who likes to spend the rest of my day lounging when I`m not being loved on by the shelter staff. My new family should know that I have a progressive FeLV infection, which means I need to be an indoor cat. Feline leukemia (FeLV) is contagious to other cats, and therefore, would recommend consulting with your veterinarian on risks of adding me to a feline-friendly home. My new family should be prepared that I may start to show symptoms related to FeLV or take longer to recovery from ailments that wouldn`t be a `big deal` to other cats. I can still live a very happy life in a quiet environment and with regular veterinary care, so the GHS recommends speaking to your vet prior to adopting me. I would make a wonderful addition to a calm and cuddly home - take me home today!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Teenagers or older respectful children please!OTHER CATS: Potentially, if they are also FELV + and with a slow and careful introductionDOGS: Potentially, with a calm, respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: Potentially, if you have some cat experienceSOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumAM I ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET? Story
Hello, my name is Felix!I`m what you`d call a `senior` in human years, but don`t let that fool you. I`m as spry and friendly as ever. I`m a simple cat, really. I adore lounging in my bed, taking long, satisfying naps. I`m the type to keep you company, quietly observing as you go about your day. My sweet, mellow demeanor makes me a perfect companion. I came to GHS with a chronic skin allergy - feline eosinophilic granuloma complex - whoa, that`s a lot of big words! Don`t let that scare you, my friends at GHS helped me get the care I need and now I`m on a once a day medication that is really helping me. I am looking for a family that can continue my care and speak with my Vet regularly to ensure I remain my happiest and healthiest! If you`re looking for a low-key, loving friend, I`m your cat. Adopt me, and let`s make beautiful memories together.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with respectful children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumSPECIAL DIET/MEDICATION: Yes, Prednisolone for my skin conditionIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Hello, my name is Dear!I`m a sweet soul with a look of `blue steel` - I think I was a model in a past life. My mellow demeanor makes me a great companion for relaxing evenings. I`m quite the cuddle bug, always seeking out a warm lap to curl up in. My favorite pastime? Flopping around for pets, of course. It`s my way of showing my affection and trust. I`ve got a soft spot for those who take the time to get to know me. My dream? To find a forever home where I can share my sweetness and love. Adopting me, Dear, means gaining a loyal friend who will cherish every moment with you.My new family should know that I am FIV+, but it doesn`t slow me down one bit - my shelter friends recommend my new owner(s) research FIV or consult with their vet before submitting an application!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: I could be a good match with children.OTHER CATS: I could be a good match with another friendly cat, after a slow introduction - speak with your Veterinarian about the potential risks given my FIV+ status.DOGS: I could be a good match with a calm, cat-savvy dog after a proper introduction.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...FIRST TIME CAT OWNERS: YesACTIVITY LEVEL: Low-mediumIf you think I would make a good match for your home, click the `Adopt me` button to apply!

Story
Hello! My name is Miranda!I came into the shelter with my siblings - Kate and Gordo. We were all very scared and it took lots of time and positive interactions to learn that humans aren`t so scary. I am still nervous in new environments and can still be skittish of sudden movements or loud noises. My favorite activities include splashing around in my water bowl and watching TV up close.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok, no young children as I am looking for a calmer home.OTHER CATS: Yes, I would enjoy a cat friend to play and snuggle with.DOGS: Yes, a respectful dog.FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I`m looking for a home that has cared for cats before.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. If you think I would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Hello! My name is Gordo (short hair) and this is my sister, Kate (long hair)! We came into the shelter very scared and it took lots of time and positive interactions to learn that humans aren`t so scary. I am still very nervous in new environments but my sister Kate warms up much faster. I`ve gained a lot of confidence through watching her explore new spaces and interact with scary humans. We are good buddies and like to play and snuggle together. Given my lack of confidence and Kate`s higher confidence level, our GHS friends believe we will make the perfect match and are looking for a home together! We both like to snuggle with our human friends, but I am a true lap cat at heart, it just takes me time to warm up to you before I`ll be snuggling in your lap.MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: No, we are looking for an adult-only home.OTHER CATS: Yes, with an easy-going and confident cat known to be social with other cats.DOGS: Potentially, with a smaller and very calm dog as I am quite nervous of them (foster mom says they`re just big kittens but I don`t think that`s right).FIRST-TIME CAT OWNERS: No, I`m looking for a home that has cared for cats before.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium. If you think we would make a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!
