Story
Frannie is a gentle soul who had a difficult time adjusting to the shelter when she came in with her two brothers. It was a new place for her, and she was nervous about all of the new people, smells, and sounds. Our speciality-trained group of TLC volunteers works with Frannie daily, helping to improve her confidence and show her that there are good people in the world. She is starting to come out of her shell. Frannie loves Churu treats and watching the birds outside the window. Frannie will do best in a home with another cat-friendly cat, either an existing resident cat or one of her pals at ARF. She will need a quiet, patient home that will give her time to blossom and settle into a new routine. Earning a cat's trust is so rewarding and we know that the right person is out there looking for a quiet companion like Frannie. Frannie is available for foster to adopt. If you are interested in meeting her, please email arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com

Story
Freddie and Frank have come such a long way from their arrival in February 2024. For the first three months, these boys, along with another cat, Frannie, spent time with a special team of volunteers who helped them to decompress. They have not had an easy life. They were abandoned with one of our rescue partners. We don't know their backstory. We don't know if they were once loved and cherished family pets, or were neglected and then abandoned. What we do know is that they deserve to be loved, and to have a safe, forever home where they will not be left behind again. While we learned that Frannie is not especially bonded to the boys, Frank and Freddie are intensely bonded to one another. We do not want to split them up. We think they'd be broken-hearted if we separated them from one another, and they have already had enough heartbreak. That means we are searching for a patient home that's willing to work with two shy, reserved cats and show them what love is. They are beautiful and healthy, love treats, play with toys and now enjoy petting and an occasional lap. They have come a long way since we first received them. We know this is a tall order, but we're hopeful that there is someone out there with a big heart and room in their home for these sweethearts, who with time and patience, will learn to trust and become valued members of a family, maybe for the first time in their lives. Frank and Freddie are available for foster to adopt to ensure that it is the right fit. If you are interested, please reach out to arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com for more information.

Story
Albelo is available for foster to adopt. Please contact his consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com What is "foster to adopt"? Foster to adopt is a unique opportunity offered by ARF in an effort to solidify a perfect, forever fit between an adopter and a cat or dog who has been at the shelter longer than our other animals. The program will allow for a potential adopter to take Albelo home for a pre-determined amount of time (usually around two weeks) to see how he will do in their home prior to making an official adoption. Nothing is "wrong" with our foster to adopt animals. Rather, it is that for whatever rhyme or reason, their forever family has yet to come forward. Albelo was trapped with some colony cats, but this boy was too sweet to be turned back out! This friendly guy is the full package! He loves to be loved, is a champion snuggler and is a super affectionate lap cat. Albelo also enjoys playtime, chasing after toy mice and ribbon wands. Albelo is FIV+. But, do not let that worry you! FIV cannot be transmitted to people or to dogs. It is transmitted through deep bite wounds from another cat and it is typically transmitted between cats living outdoors, that are competing for limited resources. FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. Our adoption consultants can discuss his diagnosis further with any potential adopters. Could you be the right fit to give this handsome boy a much deserved opportunity to live a life off of the streets in a safe and loving home? Albelo is currently eating Prescription diet Z/D food. If you would like more info or to meet Albelo, please contact his consultant at arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!

Meet Asher, a gentle soul with a heart full of love. Her world is one of soft whispers and gentle strokes, preferring the quiet corners of life. Though she might be shy, don't mistake her caution for indifference. She's merely taking her time to trust, to open up. Once she does, her love is all-encompassing. She adores being petted, her purrs a testament to her contentment. Every stroke, every gentle word, brings her out of her shell a little more. With patience, Asher will reward you with a bond that is deep and meaningful. Adopt Asher and discover the joy of a quiet love, the beauty of a friendship that asks for nothing but patience and gentle care. Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sugar is available for foster to adopt. Please contact arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com for more info. Sugar is as sweet as they come! She enjoys soaking up all the attention she can get, especially chin scratches and face rubs. Her voice is tiny and she drools when she's happy. She's had just a bit of anxiety here at the shelter, and catnip helps to calm her down. She often likes to explore and do her own thing, and she will come to to you to sit on your lap for attention. Just as much as she loves attention, she loves to play! She enjoys the mice with the beads inside that rattle. She goes nuts for them! When she's done playing, she enjoys curling up in a fuzzy blanket and taking a nap. Although she's sweet, Sugar does prefer to be the only cat in a home with older children or adults only. If you're interested in meeting Sugar, please stop by during open hours. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com.
