Story
My name is Peaches and I am a Domestic Short Hair kitty who would love to come home with you. I have been at the shelter for a while, and I would require an experienced cat person to adopt me. I don't get along well with some other cats, but I'm fine with others - it depends! I used to be pretty moody and would scratch people with no warning. I've gotten much, much better, and I now enjoy being petted.. If I had my own home and a patient person to play with me and redirect my energy, I would be a good kitty. Please come and meet me... Ill wait for YOU!!

Story
Rizzo and sister Olivia were surrendered to the shelter when their person could no longer keep them. We have a number of volunteers who come in regularly to play with our cats and socialize them, and they report that Rizzo just loves the fishing pole toys, especially the ones that flutter like a real bird! She's pretty relentless with it. She also loves to explore. She's a very sweet cat, but she was getting picked on a lot in the Kool Katz room, one of our adult cat rooms at the shelter. Any time we got a cat in who was a bit of a bully, they just selected her as a target. Even though it's stressful to switch cats to another room, when we had an opening in our Zen Meow room (for quiet cats) we decided to switch her. This was a GREAT move. She quickly adjusted and now she just loves it. She comes down to greet us every time we go in the room, and she is just her normal outgoing, friendly self. We're so happy we moved her! She's ready to be adopted, so stop by and meet this sweet cat.

Story
Kipper was found in a tote with ten other kittens who were abandoned at Paws Animal Shelter. We dont know how long the poor things were in the tote (it wasnt left by our front door). Theyve all been combo tested and are healthy. Theyre very playful, but they didnt have a proper start in life as they obviously werent handled a lot. As a result, they were a little more scared than our typical kitten, but we worked with them so they were as friendly as the others in no time! Kipper was the most shy in the big kitten room, but in just a couple short weeks she made SO much progress. We play every week, and I pick her up each time and she immediately starts purring and loving on me. She lays on my lap on her own for some time, before she just has to get up and start playing again! They all just love to play, especially with the fishing pole toys. They cant seem to get enough of that, and will just run and play until they wear themselves out! The other ten tote kittens have been adopted, and poor little Kipper is the only one left. She's so sweet and loving now we really don't understand why she hasn't been adopted yet. If youd love to spoil a loving, young kitty, please consider adopting Kipper (and maybe a friend from her room to keep her company!). Story
Nova and her four brothers came to Paws Animal Shelter with their mom, Belinda, when they were 13 weeks old. They had been living in a shed in Springfield, and had not been handled as much as they should have been. As a result, they were shy and hissy at first, but our volunteers went to work on them, and we were amazed at the turn around. The three siblings who were really outgoing have all been adopted, and just Maverick and Nova are left. Nova is still close to her brother, and you frequently find them napping in the same area. She isn't shy as he is and will let you pet her, even if you forgot to bring treats! They're in one of our free-range adult cat rooms, the Catacabana, so stop by and meet her. If you have some patience and want to really make a difference in a cat's life, adopt Nova and her brother Maverick.Personality traitsSweet, Playful, Energetic, Athletic

Story
Samantha was found as a stray in Urbana with her SEVEN kittens! She was certainly not able to keep everyone alive by herself, so she was brought to Paws Animal Shelter. Even at the shelter she was overwhelmed by so many babies, and shes happy theyre weaned now. She was a good momma, but that was just too many kittens for her to feed and care for! She's spayed now (Yay, she says - no more babies!!) and is in one of the adult cat rooms. She didn't interact much with the other adults in the room at first, as she really did seem tired. She likes to get attention from people, and she enjoys being brushed and playing. She really wants her own home where she can enjoy spa treatment and pampering. She's ready to be adopted, so stop by and meet this sweet young kitty!Personality traitsFriendly, Affectionate, Sweet, Quiet, Gentle
