Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available now!   Date of Birth: 2/18/21   Princeton was adopted out as a kitten and through no fault of his own, was returned to us. Princeton is a VERY big boy that loves being petted and giving head-butts, and also loves to play! But when he's mad, he can be quite rough, so he is NOT recommended for young kids. He needs pet parents that will be loving but firm with him, similar to a dog. Princeton takes a couple weeks to warm up to new people and pets, but once he loves you, he is your absolute best friend and will want to be a part of everything you do.   Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.   We believe that kitties need a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. If you adopt more than one kitty, you will receive a discount of $25 per kitty. Previous adopters will receive a $25 discount on their new kitty.   If this will be your first kitty, we suggest that you check out this site for a lot of important information: Cat Adoption Checklist. People think cats are easy pets, but they are very unique and there is a lot to learn. There is a lot of information online, and you are always welcome to ask us our advice.   You'll want to make sure you have all the basic supplies before you bring a baby home: nutrious food, bowls (not plastic), litter, litter pan, litter scoop, toys, scratchers & cat trees, nail clippers and a cat carrier. ##1220049##

Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available now!   Rusty was born in 2018.   He is a sweet orange boy looking for a forever family who will love him. He has gorgeous eyes and he loves to talk to hoomans. Rusty has been with us for quite some time, due to a skin issue. He is allergic to something (still not sure what) but after several steroid shots, he is now doing great! He is very sweet and meows for pets. He loves other cats but is not crazy about dogs. He has gained some weight and needs to be put on a diet. He would do well as an indoor/outdoor cat, but only in a safe environment.   Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines (at least 2), FeLV/FIV test, flea treatment, microchip & registration and dewormer.   We believe that kitties should have a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. If you adopt more than one kitty, you will receive a discount of $25 per kitty. Story
This kitty's adoption fee is 50% off! Thank you to Kia and Petfinder for the grant that made this possible!   Available now!   Date of Birth: around 9/16/23   Sparks is a bit of a ham, a bit of a clown, and a bit of a goof. As I write this, he is trying to get my attention by grabbing my hands. He is a very good natured boy who is going to make a wonderful addition to any family! He has become quite the lovebug and likes to be picked up and held. Everyday his personality gets bigger. He is quite the weirdo. He follows humans like a puppy dog, does not want to learn the word no, and refuses to back down from our big dogs. If he is going to live with another cat, we'll have to be careful who it is, because he annoys some cats, gets along great with others and even gets bullied by the head girl cat in our house. He makes sure that there is never a dull moment!   Our standard adoption fees are $99 for adult cats and $150 for kittens. Kitty's adoption fee covers spay or neuter, rabies vaccine, age-appropriate distemper vaccines, FeLV/FIV combo test, flea treatment, microchip & registration, and dewormer.   We believe that kitties need a feline friend! For their health and happiness, we highly recommend that kitties be adopted in pairs. Story
Pierce and his siblings were born when a stray mother cat was found searching for food at a fast-food restaurant in Statesville, NC right about March 17. Mom and kittens were all given Irish names to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Pierce is a very handsome gentleman wearing a tuxedo and was named after the Irish actor Pierce Brosnan. He was recently neutered and is a healthy and happy - beautifully marked older kitten. Pierce loves to play with his siblings and the other cats/kittens at our rescue. He is a sweet kitten who also loves to chow down his food! He is negative for FIV/Leukemia, and he has received both rounds of his 5-way vaccines, been dewormed and received flea treatment. He is a beautiful, very healthy kitty! If you are interested in this sweet young cat, please let us know, and we will send an application for adoption to your email. Arrangements can be made for you to visit him before adoption. We also offer a 3-day trial adoption period. Thank you for your interest in adopting a truly rescued pet! Story
Dudette came to us when a good Samaritan found her living in a storm drain in Hickory, rescued, and was placed in foster care in Statesville. She had either been dumped there or just wandered around and found herself living there with no mother cat, siblings, food, water or shelter at a very young age. It was a terrible beginning of life for a very sweet, beautiful kitten. Dudette is now 5 months old and was just spayed in October - and is ready for a home of her own. She tested negative for FIV/Leuk.,was given her kitten shots, flea meds and wormed. Dudette is so unusually marked, as you can see. She has quite a mixture of black and white with a pretty black mark on her nose and a white mark on her black hip! If you are interested in Dudette, please respond and we will be happy to send an application or make arrangements for meeting her. Thank you for your interest in a truly rescued pet!!

Story
Mr. Lucky is a very handsome all black, young, neutered male cat with a tiny bit of white under his chin. He is a very friendly little guy with beautiful large green eyes. He and his siblings were born when a stray mother cat was found outside a fast-food restaurant in Statesville, hoping to find food - right around March 17. Mom and kittens were all given Irish names to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Mr. Lucky was the smallest of the group, weighing less than a pound at his first visit to the vet's office. He is also the sweetest of the kittens - perhaps because he's the smallest - but he also loves to chow down his food! Mr. Lucky was recently neutered, and he is a happy and healthy little guy - still a fairly small cat. He has been given all his kitten shots, been dewormed and received flea treatment before his neuter. The mother cat, Patticake, is negative for FIV/Leukemia. If you are interested in this sweet older kitten, please let us know, and we will send an application for adoption to your email. If you prefer to meet him first, please call 704-881-1078 to make an appt. with his foster since we do not have a shelter. There is no obligation on your part to adopt, but we need to have some information from all potential adopters before making an appointment to meet. If you have any specific questions about Mr. Lucky, please send us an email at citizens4animals@yahoo.com

Story
Itsy Bitsy was found a few weeks after the recent, terrible storm hit western NC -- Hurricane Helene. She had been left behind in an abandoned, almost completely demolished trailer in Linville, NC. Efforts have been made to reunite her with her original owners but to no avail. In fact, we do not know if her owners survived. When she was found, Itsy was walking through the shattered glass remnants of the trailer which had been hit by a falling tree. She was so happy to be saved from starvation, sure death and rescued in the nick of time -- we hope to find her a new loving home where she can begin to feel safe and find happiness once again! Itsy Bitsy is a beautiful combination of white and black and has the most gorgeous light green eyes! She was recently spayed and has had all her shots. If you are interested in adopting this sweet kitten or have any questions about Itsy Bitsy, please do not hesitate to contact: citizens4animals@yahoo.com
