Story
“Queen” Lisa would love to be the Queen of her Castle. She can get along with others if you will slow intro but she would just as soon not. Her foster mom says she’s a fair weather friend: she likes other cats sometimes & sometimes she doesn’t. She doesn’t like being contained in a carrier but doesn’t mind being held & loved on, and she rewards you with big purrs. If you would like to meet Queen Lisa and see how she would rule your castle, please schedule a meet & greet. You won’t be sorry!

Story
Precious Miranda's family lost their home in the recent Helene floods. She was alone for about two weeks before she could be rescued, and she is traumatized. She lived in a quiet home with no children and no other cats; she has lived with a dog before. There's definitely some tortitude given all she's been through, but she is slowly warming up. Miranda needs a peaceful place to heal and lots of patience and love.

Story
SUNSHINE is FIV+.  This means she has a compromised immune system.  She can live just fine with other cats, without concern that they will get it as long as they get along and there are no deep bite wounds causing major trauma....which shouldn't be a problem since Sunshine likes other cats.  She should live indoors only because being outside would expose her to unnecessary disease and illness.  She can live a full, long life, but it will be important to have her seen by her vet at early signs of illness due to the compromised immune system.  Sunshine was a young, outside cat prior to coming to Mountain Pet Rescue with her 1-day-old kittens.  She was very frightened the first 24-48 hours....then she discovered how awesome her foster family's touch was and she melted.  As she got more comfortable in her space, she was eager for her foster family to come into the foster room each day so she could soak up all the attention she could get.  While anxious about quick movements, she will seek out attention once she is comfortable.  She likes rubs here, rubs there and rubs everywhere, even her tummy.  She also makes some pretty great biscuits while she is enjoying the attention.  She wants to give you nose bumps, but tends to want to take the lead there and gets anxious if you try to give her a kiss on the head when she isn't expecting it.  Then she scoots backwards out of the way.  She gets anxious about being held, but her foster mom got her up to 30 seconds at a time before she wiggled down.  She started climbing onto her foster mom's lap too, but hadn't yet decided laying in the lap was perfect.  I do think she was getting closer though.  To meet Sunshine, complete our adoption application and an adoption counselor will call you to schedule a meet and greet with this sweet girl!  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormer and started on monthly flea preventative. Story
Little Gomez came to us as a one pound kitten that had a condition known as Pectus Excavatum - the shelter contacted us because most of the time they are euthanized but thankfully they reached out to us as we knew we could fix this little guy. Because he only weighed a pound - we had to wait to surgically correct his condition but honestly you would have never known there was anything wrong with him - he was your typical happy and playful kitten. Once he was a little older and hit the 3 pound mark he was able to have the procedure to correct his condition at a specialist. He came through it great and has been medically cleared and should have no further issues and he is your normal - happy go lucky kitten that just wants to play and sometimes try and steal some human food. He is still on the small side but he is a totally amazing little guy that is hoping to find a family to call his own. He is fostered with 2 other cats and would love to have a companion to play with. He has not been around dogs but with proper introductions, he would adjust and be fine as long as the dog has been around cats before. Gomez has been combo tested (negative) - he is current on vaccines, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $75.00. If you are interested in adopting Gomez, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. We do require vet references and a home visit and all of our cats must be indoor cats only. Gomez is going to be a great addition to some very lucky family.

Story
Lyla is a 13 year old female cat with the sweetest disposition. She loves to cuddle and is very friendly and kind. She is an older cat but is very healthy and acts like she is a much younger cat. She was a declawed kitty when we adopted her so she doesn’t scratch furniture. She gets along well with dogs that are cat friendly, and she has grown up with children in the house and loves them. She would be good with other friendly cats as well. The reason we would like to find her a happy new home is because we have another cat that is behaving very aggressively toward Lyla and I do not want to see her bullied. And for obvious reasons we cannot rehome the aggressive cat, so we think it’s best to find a loving home for Lyla. She would be a loving addition to any home ❤️
