Story
I’m Sprite, and after nearly two years of waiting for my forever home, I can’t help but wonder if my chance will ever come. The SPCA rescued me from a cruel situation in December 2022, and despite receiving lots of TLC from my caretakers, I’ve had a very difficult time finding confidence in myself here. The flurry of activity and new faces around me makes me want to hide away.I’m searching for a loving pet parent who can make me feel safe, cherished, and at ease. Someone who will be kind and patient with me as I come out of my shell. Because even though I’m still a bit skittish and continue to learn to trust, there is nothing I long for more than a best friend.Could you be the angel of a person I’ve been dreaming of? Please contact or stop into the shelter to apply for me. I cannot wait to start living my very best life with you by my side.

Story
My name is Willis! I guess I should start with a little information about myself.....I came into the shelter because my beloved owner became sick and could no longer care for me. When I came in I was very shy and didn`t really want any human interaction. With time, I have adjusted and have started to come out of my shell a bit. I once was a cat that barely liked to be touched, but now I find myself loving when humans enter my room to visit me and I LOVE to be pet. I also LOVE to play with wand toys and feather toys! I will always be a little shy, but overall I have come a long way from when I first arrived at the shelter. Due to my shy demeanor, a quiet/relaxed home would be the best fit for me. I need a home where I can be myself...the shy but sweet guy that I am. I would do fine with older kids (8+) . I also LOVE other cats, it is recommended that I am placed in a home that already has a cat resident, or that I am adopted with another cat as cats help me to come out of my shell! I would do best in a home without dogs. If you are interested in giving me a forever home, please stop by the shelter any day to meet me! Adoption applications are located here at the shelter, online, or you can email us to request one!Email: spcaallegany@gmail.comWebsite: www.spcaallegany.orgPhone: 585-593-2200 EX 2

Story
I’m Meowser, and for two years, I’ve been waiting quietly, hoping that someone will see the gentle soul hiding behind my timid eyes.I arrived at the shelter in December 2022 after being rescued from a cruel situation. Life hasn’t been easy, and I’ve struggled to find my place in this busy world. I’m not the kind of cat who opens up right away — my spirit has been hurt, and it has taken me time to feel safe again. But little by little, I’ve begun to trust, and with every day, my tender heart is peeking through.I dream of a quiet, loving home where I can finally feel peace and at ease. With a family who’s patient, understanding, and kind, I know I’ll blossom into the terrific companion I was always meant to be.Could that family be yours? If you think you are the hero I’ve been waiting for, please reach out to the shelter. You can apply to adopt me via email, or come visit the SPCA any day between 12 and 4 pm. I’m ready to begin a new delightful chapter, and I hope it will be with you.*Meowser gets great comfort from being around other cats and would love to live with a friendly feline. Meowser would be best suited for a home with adults and older children.

Story
I’m Mateo, and I cannot sugar-coat how sad I am being without a home after over a year of waiting. I was rescued as a stray when I was young, and because I haven’t received any interest in all of this time, I’ve grown up at the shelter. How I wish that I could finally find a wonderful family to love and devote myself to.Could you be the person I’ve been longing for my entire life? Please contact the SPCA and/or submit an application via email or in person if you would like to apply for me. It would bring me so many happy tears to become a beloved member of your family.Mateo loves people and enjoys the company of cats. He would do best in a quieter home where he can fully relax and embrace being loved on. Mateo requires a home without dogs. Story
I’m Salt, and I’ve been patiently waiting at the shelter for almost a year and a half now. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a wallflower — gentle, friendly, and so sweet, but just laid-back enough that I might not be the first to catch your eye.I’m the kind of cat who’s always happy to curl up by your side, offer a warm purr, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. My sweetness is like a pinch of sugar — subtle and soothing, and something that makes everything a little bit better.I know I’m not the loudest or flashiest kitty here, but that doesn’t mean I’m not special. My kind nature and big heart would make me the perfect companion for that special someone.Could that someone be you? I would so love and appreciate finally being adopted so I can enjoy a lifetime of happy moments with you.Salt loves people, greatly enjoys the company of other cats, and would be fine living with a well mannered dog.

Story
I’m Tequila, and for the past year and a half, I’ve been at the shelter waiting for my shot at love.Just like the drink I’m named after, I’m one of a kind — smooth, but with a little kick! I may not be the first to rush up for attention, but trust me, I love being around people. I’m happiest just hanging out nearby, whether I’m soaking up some sun by the windowsill, playing with my toys, or enjoying a quiet nap with my cat friends. So, if you’re looking for a mellow, independent girl who will always keep you company in her own low-key way, I’m right here, patiently waiting. Could I be your forever friend?Tequila loves people, cats, and would likely do well living with a laid-back pup.
