Roxy needs a special home as she is heartworm positive. She is not a fan of other cats. She needs a calm home for the best outcome for her condition. Heartworm cannot be cured in cats, only managed. She must have monthly flea and parasite Revolution treatment applied to keep the heartworm under control and needs to avoid overstimulation. She's a beautiful tortie, who was left behind in an apartment after her people moved, claiming she was "feral." She has been with us since December 2023.

Buzz is FIV+ But don’t let that discourage you. He is set to live a long healthy life because he has sooo much love to give. We especially encourage a slow introduction to other cats in the home to establish harmonious living. Buzz loves to play but serious cat fights need to be avoided as the only way FIV transmits is through biting another cat and breaking the skin. While not aggressive to other cats, Buzz was getting a little too rambunctious with kittens, and his newfound confidence also led to more posturing and defending around other male cats, so in the interest of safety, we have pulled Buzz from the Pawsitive Cafe. Currently he is seeking a new foster home, but he is also available for adoption at any time. If you already have cats in your home, as with any new animal, a slow introduction (a process we can explain or refer you to resources for) should ensure harmonious living and no risk of his immune condition transferring.
