Story
Pigeon is a rescue from a cat colony in Oregon 4 years ago. He was adopted at 9 months of age along with his brother Strix. As they grew up, Strix seemed to be the dominant personality but as Pigeon got older (and bigger) he started to display more dominant behavior. That behavior has compounded into being more destructive and aggressive with Strix as my disability has progressed and I'm no longer able to keep up with him or his needs. Pigeon has very high energy demands; he's an active cat who needs someone to play with him consistently. His favorite toys are a stick (yes, really) that you play peekaboo with under a blanket. He also likes pingpong balls a lot! He's very skittish and doesn't handle change well, so please be patient with him. He's very cuddly once you give him time to warm up and loves to be in laps. He doesn't tolerate being picked up very well, though. He has very bad anxiety, likely due to his energy needs being unmet. The proper house & playmate would do wonders.

Story
Sid (short for Obsidian) is a domestic shorthair--her coat is almost completely black except for a few white hairs on her chest and belly. She is one of six kittens born on 7/31/24 to a feral who had been trapped for TNR and has been handled and socialized since her birth. Sid can be a little shy initially, but when she feels comfortable she is bold, talkative, and affectionate, and loves chasing wand toys as well as anything that can be sent skittering across the floor. She is, for a cat, relatively respectful of personal space and loves floor-pets; when she's tired will climb into your lap of her own accord for a snuggle. Sid gets along well with her siblings and should do well with another cat or a calm dog; she has been toddler-tested and will get along well with even younger children so long as they don't manhandle her. Sid tested FIV and FeLV negative and has her first rabies, FeLV, and distemper vaccinations.

Story
Rosemary is a domestic shorthair with a "standard cat" mackerel tabby pattern coat. She is one of six kittens born on 7/31/24 to a feral who had been trapped for TNR and has been handled and socialized since her birth. Rosie was the runt of the litter, but has caught up with her siblings. She is friendly, inquisitive, playful, and affectionate, and loves to explore and climb and play with wand toys and with anything she can bat across the floor. When she's tired, Rosie is a cuddler and will snuggle down into your arms and purr herself to sleep. Though she has not been tested with dogs, she gets along well with her siblings and is not afraid of the larger cats in her foster home; her boldness makes it likely that she would adapt to a friendly dog. She has been toddler-tested and should get along with a small child who isn't allowed to manhandle her. Rosemary tested FIV and FeLV negative and has her first rabies, FeLV, and distemper vaccinations.

Story
Hello friends, my name is Robot, a somewhat sedentary senior. I came here with my doggo buddy, Pixie, when our human passed away. Right now, the shelter is kind of overwhelming, so I spend a lot of time napping in my room. If you`re gentle and patient, I might let you softly pet my head or cheeks. I`m sorry I`m not that interactive right now but I think more of my purr-sonality will show once I`m settled into my new home. Do you think you can give me a chance? Call, email or stop by the shelter during open hours if you`d like to know more about adoption! (607)257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com

Story
Meet Ozzie, an extra large senior fluff with a purr-sonality to match! Ozzie is the kind of cat who everyone loves to coo over. With his long, orange fur and his squishable looking body, most people want to hug him right away. While Ozzie may be in the mood for that sometimes, he can also have a sassy side that appears more quickly than you`d expect. He`s not completely anti-social, he will approach and solicit attention fairly quickly. However, sometimes he gets in over his head and has a change of heart mid-interaction. Since Ozzie can be hard to read sometimes, he`s looking for a home with experienced adults who can resist the urge to squish! Don`t worry, Ozzie is so cute that admiring him from afar is still a reward in and of itself! If you think your home could provide what Ozzie needs, call, email or stop by the shelter during open hours to find out more about adopting! (607)257-1822 x221 adoptions@spcaonline.com

Story
Live, from New York, it`s Cat-er-day Night! Taken from a home where there were too many cats, Maya and her cast mates all had colds and needed vet care. Since they have been with us they have all been cleared by our medical team, fixed, microchipped and given vaccines. Maya and the rest were all adopted, but Maya has returned to the shelter in search of a forever home. Come and visit Maya Rudolph during open hours and see if she`s the one for you!
