Shake it, shake it, Sugaree 🥀Sugaree was a member of the Wharf Cats. A group of over 25 cats & kittens were removed from a hoarding situation local to the shelter. Sugaree and her friends found themselves safe at the shelters, but they were very scared and confused. We had to close off an entire room in the shelter while these cats decompressed, learned to use to litterbox for the first time, and got used to eating regular cat food. They were under-socialized and terrified but thanks to the patience of our staff & volunteers, one by one they came out of their shells and turned into adoptable cats. Sugaree is still quite shy, but she chirps at us for love and will allow pets from staff and volunteers. Her true colors will not show here at the shelter, and although it is a big ask, we are looking for an adopter to take a chance on this sweet soul.
