Story
Burt came to Country Acres Rescue in January, 2023. He was a shelter transfer from Snuggle, a group who helps neonate kittens get on their feet before coming to a shelter like CAR. Burt had some tummy issues since he came into our care. We have done every test, probe, scope and screening there is on Burt to find out why he had tummy issues at such a young age - Burt is perfectly healthy, but he does have a simply food allergy. When Burt is on Science Diet Biome dry food, he does GREAT. Burt is such an affectionate, happy boy. All he wants is a loving family and a home of his own. Please contact CAR at 636-227-1919 to inquire more on Burt and how to give him the forever home he deserves.

Phoenix is the most outgoing of his litter, he is such a LOVER-BUGGER. He has such charming ways, and uses his paws a lot; he is so much fun to interact with. Phoenix has really dark and defined tiger stripes, eye catching. He loves playing with EVERYTHING and is super sweet with his siblings. He is such a handsome guy with a soft, buff coat. He enjoys playing with toys and interested in bird/squirrel videos we play for the rescue cats throughout the day. Story
Kacey had a litter of five babies outside in 100+ degree heat at an apartment complex. Luckily, a wonderful person found Kacey with her litter of two-day old kittens and brought them to Country Acres Rescue. Kacey was the best Mama to her littles, she was loving, attentive and protective. Kacey is still learning to trust staff and volunteers as she was outside fending for herself for over a year. She is quiet and loves watching people and birds out her window. Kacey has the sweetest, most precious face - she deserves a second chance at a good life. Please call CAR at 636-227-1919 to find out more about Kacey and how to make her apart of your family.

Story
One of our very own volunteers found and humanely trapped Shamrock in her front yard. She thought she was pregnant, but when she brought her in to Country Acres Rescue, we discovered Shamrock most likely had already given birth. This volunteer was horrified by this thought as one would be, so she spent the rest of her evening (before she was to leave town the next morning) setting up outside cameras and kitten traps to try and find Shamrock's babies. To our amazement, this volunteer was able to trap two five-week old kittens who were tucked away under her concrete steps. We were elated! What an amazing story. Shamrock is still a bit on the shyer side as she is still a new resident and decompressing. She loves to eat and watch the birds out the window. We know she will come around once she learns CAR is a safe place. Shamrock deserves the most loving home and to never be outside fending for herself again. Please call CAR at 636-227-1919 to find out more about the adoption process and how to make Shamrock apart of your family.

Story
Hi!! My name is Abby. I was rescued from Jefferson County Animal Control along with my 4 kittens. The kittens have all been adopted, but I am still looking for my furever home. I am a very pretty, quiet girl who usually minds her own business. I am very shy and will hide when visitors come over. I spend most of my time on a perch where I can nap in peace. Usually I just watch all the activity, but occasionally I will chase the laser light. My favorite thing to do is to nap on my foster Dad’s lap. I’ll even share his lap with other kitties.I’m not a cuddly cat, but will come to you when I want attention. I get freaked out if you try to pick me up, so you have to wait for me to come to you. I used to be very skittish but have come a long way recently. I will even let you walk up and pet me most of the time now. Just a few months ago I would have run away and hidden.I would probably be happiest being the only cat in the house, but I might consider sharing my humans with another cat if it wasn’t aggressive. I am used to dogs and I don’t really mind them. We just leave each other alone. I have not been around children, but would not do well with them since I am so shy and afraid to be picked up. I might be happiest in a quiet home with an older adult (probably a man) who would love to spoil me and give me a nice comfy lap to sleep on.I will need a special family who is patient with me while I get used to new surroundings. I’m not too adventurous when it comes to new things. But if you give me time I just might be your new lap cat!My adoption fee is $75.00 and includes all testing, spaying, microchipping. I am also up-to-date on shots. If you’d like to meet me, please contact my foster Mom. I don’t go to adoption events because I get too scared there, so we would need to make other arrangements to get acquainted. I’ll be ready when you are!DeniseFoster Mom314.322.5607 - celljdbaisch@att.netWe only adopt to people in the St. Louis METRO area. Story
I have a best friend Stublet. Maybe you would consider adopting us both!Dustin is big cat. He is very active and loves to run up and down the stairs and play with balls. He's not so much of a lover but more of a manly- like cat. He does like sitting on laps. If you want him to want him to go somewhere all you need to do is to put dry food in a bowl and shake it and he will follow you anywhere. He gets along with other cats and dogs. Please contact my foster mom Kate at 314-550-5523We only adopt to people in the St. Louis METRO area.
