Story
“Some people make the world special just by being in it.” – Selffa.com. I’ll bet you’re a special person, aren’t you? I think I’m special too. I’m a cute, lovable seven-year-old black and white kitty boy called Carson. My people named me Bruce, but since being returned to the shelter, I’ve been called by my original name, Carson. I was an affectionate, energetic kitten. In my home, I liked my alone time, but I enjoyed receiving affection and petting. I really bonded with the disabled adult son in the home. I may have understood him, I guess. See, I’m different from many kitties. I have pica. Some kitties get it (people too). It means that we eat things we shouldn’t. In my case, I chew on cloth – blankets, soft toys, and things like that. It can be very dangerous, as I found out the hard way. I get lots of TLC from staff and volunteers here at the shelter! I am always up for playing with them, or on my own. I love playing with water under the faucet! I can play with plastic balls and all sorts of toys that I can’t chew or swallow, and I can be comfortable in a space without blankets. I trust that you are loving, smart, creative, and capable of giving me the kind of care that a special boy like me needs. Give me a window where I can watch the birds and squirrels and soak up the sun. Let me soak up your love! I will be a happy Carson boy! Let’s share our special lives together!Adoption fee $50 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
“People where you live,` the little prince said, `grow five thousand roses in one garden... yet they don`t find what they`re looking for...And yet what they`re looking for could be found in a single rose...` And the little prince added, `But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, `The Little Prince`. My name is Razzmatazz. If you’ve seen my name before, it’s because I’ve been here a while. I came from a hoarding situation in April 2022. I’m one of the “Crayola Cats.” The color “Razzmatazz” is a crimson-rose. That’s too jazzy for a kitty like me, but a rose is a beautiful flower. I’m a 6-year-old black female, who, like the many other cats who lived in that home, is very shy around people, but I was adopted six months later. My person tried to make me feel at home, and I was making a bit of progress. I was playing some and accepting petting while I ate. But because I’m not outwardly affectionate or a snuggly lap cat, I was returned this January. I do enjoy the company of other cats. Staff have seen me playing with a kitten named Clover, and often adult cats don’t have that kind of patience! I love sitting in the window with other cats, and on occasion, I will let a human get close to me when I’m relaxing. I was called Cookie in my home, but no matter what you call me, I am a sweet girl who deserves to be in a loving home. Are you a patient person who can give me all the space and time I need to feel comfortable? I would do best with another cat, maybe my kitten friend Clover. Look with your heart. See ME. Razzmatazz. A single, unique rose. As it says in “The Little Prince,” “It`s the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important...People have forgotten this truth, but you mustn`t forget it. You become responsible forever for what you`ve tamed. You`re responsible for your rose.” Spend quiet time in the presence of Razzmatazz. Sense my gentle nature with your cat-whisperer’s heart.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
I’m Kenneth, a 1 1/2-year-old black cat who was found in SE Rochester. Get this: my name means “handsome.” That fits, doesn’t it? It also means, “born of fire.” Just about any stray cat has been through some tough times. When I first arrived here in July 2023 after being found in SE Rochester, I was a scaredy cat who would climb up high on the cat towers to feel safe. Now, I don’t need to hang out up high so often anymore. I like lounging on the beds on the window ledges with the other cats, and when things are quiet and I’m with a familiar person, I will chase wand or string toys. I have followed a volunteer, wanting to be near a toy so I could play. My fascination made me forget my nervousness. I would still run if she tried to pet me, but playing with a person was a big step after I’ve been skittish for so long! See what happens when you are patient! It can happen! I’ve grown bigger and even more handsome than when I first arrived. Check out my shiny black coat and gorgeous green eyes! I’m not a little kitty kiddo anymore! I’m a handsome hunk who’s hoping that a special person will come along. Are you someone who’s willing to go “through the fire” with me? Give me time? Be patient? Know that it may be weeks or months or ??? for me to trust and truly give myself to you? I hope there’s someone out there who will accept and love me as I am. Story
“Advice from a sand dune: Stay loose. Embrace winds of change. Make positive ripples. Don’t get carried away. Show your true grit!” – YourTrueNature.com. Those can be challenging words to live up to when you’re a cat. Maybe you’ve seen me on Facebook a few times. Yes, I’ve been here a while. I’m Dune, a 3-year-old, buff tabby male who came to Paws and Claws back in January. I don’t have what some would call a “warm and fuzzy” purrsonality, I suppose. Oh, I’m friendly, but I do not enjoy a lot of petting, and I do not like being picked up or being held. I love sitting in a window where I can watch the birds. If you toss balls in my direction, I like batting them about. Food motivates me – a lot! My behavior can be unpredictable at times; therefore, I need a home with cat-savvy adults and possibly older children who can read my body language. Advice from a cat named Dune: Take a chance on me. Agree that we will take things slowly. Let’s get to know one another. Even though I may not seem like an affectionate, cuddly cat, I am deserving of a loving home. If you’re looking for a feline companion to love and care for, I’d like to be your Dune.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
When some people hear the word “pepper,” they think of “hot” or “spicy.” I’m a one-year-old, brown tabby girl named Pepper, and I am not. Not hot. Not spicy. I was one of the most timid kittens in my litter. There are five of us girls who showed up at a home in Faribault with our mama Papaya when we were about 2 or 3 months old. The woman who lives there started feeding us in her garage. She took us to the vet for vaccinations and had us spayed. She spent time with us to socialize us, because my sisters and I had never been around people. She spent a lot of time with me, and finally, she was able to hold and pet me. I liked that, and I even grew to like belly rubs! That makes me purr. I have been eating Purina Cat Chow. I also love wet food, especially Delectables Squeeze-up Treats and Churu Squeezable Treats. I am playful and I like to play with toys. I love snuggling up with other cats. I do not like dogs. I liked the 12-year-old child who spent time with my siblings and me. My sister Quincy and I are the shyest of the bunch (our mom and the rest of our siblings have been adopted), and we spend a lot of time hanging out together. We’d really like it if we could be adopted together. Pepper and Quincy are sweet, lovable young cats who will come to be a special part of your life.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Do you have a BFF? My BFF is my sister, Pepper. I’m Quincy, one of five one-year-old brown tabby females who came to Paws and Claws with our mama Papaya. When we were about 2 or 3 months old, Mama would bring us to a garage in a neighborhood in Faribault. None of us kittens had been around people before, so the woman spent time with us to socialize us. Pepper and I are very shy, so we got extra attention. In time, I let the woman pet me. I even let her give me belly rubs, and she got me to purr. She took us to the vet for shots, deworming, and had us spayed. After we came to the shelter, our mother and sisters were adopted, leaving Pepper and me still waiting for a forever home. We have been eating Purina Cat Chow. We also love wet food, especially Delectables Squeeze-up Treats and Churu Squeezable Treats. We are playful and like to play with toys. We love snuggling up with each other. We do not like dogs. We liked the 12-year-old child in our rescuer`s home who spent time with us. Pepper and I spend lots of time together, and we’d probably adjust to a new home more quickly if we were adopted together. Sometimes a little voice can say the biggest things: You’ll love sweet Quincy and Pepper, and we’d like to be your girls.Adoption fee $100 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Story
Frankie is a stunning Bengal with a heart of gold! This handsome 10-year-old gentleman is looking for a forever home where he can share his playful spirit and affectionate nature. With his striking coat and bright blue eyes, Leo is sure to steal your heart at first glance. Despite being an older cat, Leo still has plenty of energy and loves to explore his surroundings. He enjoys interactive playtime with feather toys and will happily entertain himself chasing after his favorite ball. When he's not being playful, Leo loves to lounge in a sunny spot or curl up next to you for some quality cuddle time. Frankie thrives on companionship, so he'd do best in a home where he's not left alone for long periods. He has a gentle disposition and would be a wonderful fit for someone looking for a loving companion; but would do best in a home without smaller children. He can be cautious of new environments and people, but definitely loves those he is around. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this charming Bengal, come meet Frankie today! He's ready to bring joy and warmth to your life.
