Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Olive is a black beauty that is sleek and shiny, and approx 1-2 years old. She is more on the reserved side, but she’ll come to give loves when she’s hungry or wants to play with the laser pointer - she’s highly motivated by treats! She's a super sweet girl who is really coming out of her shell and showing her personality more and more every day. Once she warms up to her people, she's a very loving kitty! Olive currently lives with 3 other cats and a dog and gets along well with everyone - regularly interacting with the other kitties without any conflict. She would do okay as an only cat where she has the full attention of her human(s), or with another cat for a buddy. Olive is currently fostered in Maple Grove. Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Jan is a curious and very playful 11-12 month old boy who is is hard not to fall in love with - look at those eyes! He is quickly learning how awesome indoor life is. He was dumped at a common dumping site for animals up north in Minnesota. Once she gave in to letting her fosters pet him, he couldn't get enough. Jan loves toys and treats, so he is easily bribed. It will still take him a few weeks to warm up and will need a home willing to be patient at first. It seems like he wasn't handled much as a kitten, so can get a bit mouthy when he plays, but is learning and doesn't mean any harm by it. Because of this, he would do best in a home without young kids. Jan is used to being around a lot of other cats, so would do best with cat friends to play and cuddle with. He currently has the important job of being the resident greeter for all of the new cats that come in to his foster home and makes sure they all get smothered in cuddles and know that they'll be okay! Jan is currently fostered in Becker , MN Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Simon says…. “Hi!!”  This young man was wandering around a Minneapolis neighborhood this spring, and went to AHS for stray hold and vetting. He’s now available for adoption and looking for his forever.  Simon is approx 6 years old and a sweet snuggle bug. He loves being inside, has great litter box manners, and uses a scratching post inside like a good boy. He does well with the other cats in his foster home, and he certainly  doesn’t seem to want to go back outside anymore! Simon is very tuned in to his person. He is playful and has been enjoying chasing a laser and playing with toys by hauling them around, flopping to the floor, and kangaroo kicking them.  Simon would be fine with another respectful and mellow cat with proper introductions, or he'd do well as a solo kitty to get all his human's attentions. He hasn’t been around dogs that we’re aware of, but would likely do fine with cat-saavy respectful dogs.   Simon is currently fostered in Minneapolis and can't wait to find his forever! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Molly is a young adult who was wandering outside, pregnant. A good samaritan took her in to safely have her babies and she is now fully vetted and ready for her forever home! She would do best with older, respectful kids and a calm household as she can take a while to warm up to people. She lives with other cats now in her foster home in Otsego, and does great with them! Though cautious to start, sweet Molly may take some time to warm up, but once she does, shes a laidback, relaxed, and independent lady! Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Kimberwick is a handsome smokey grey, golden eyed male, who we took in off the streets of Saint Paul after he'd been coming around a residence for months, requesting food and attention. He's estimated to be between 2-3 years old, and unfortunately, is both Feline Leukemia and FIV positive. Because of his diagnosis, he should be an only kitty (or live with another FeLV and FIV + kitty) that is 100% indoors. Kimber is a super affectionate and loving, mellow guy. He's a total gentleman and very well mannered - he loves everyone he meets! Kimberwick adores being indoors and getting as much attention as his people can possibly give him. Kimberwick is currently healthy, and is loving his cushy life as an indoor kitty! He uses his litterbox perfectly and is currently healthy, despite his diagnosis.  Interested in meeting this guy? Please be sure to do your research on Feline Leukemia and FIV, then  complete an interest form on our website  here . Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $150 plus taxHi there, it’s little ol’ me, Miley! I’m a sweet and lovely girl that loves a calm environment. I love to find a comfy spot to curl up and take a nap, whether it’s a lap or a blanket, I’m there. I’m small and dainty with an adorable personality. You will love my little paws, my purrs and my beautiful coloring. Unfortunately I had to loose all my teeth to bad genetics, so I always have my tongue sticking out, I like to think it makes me a little unique. I prefer wet food as I can’t crunch the hard food. Im may seem like a lot but I’m just a simple girl looking for the perfect family. Miley has been diagnosed as having persistent herpesvirus which is potentially contagious to other kitties, it is part of the RCP vaccine so as long as your other pets are kept current on vaccines it is a low risk of spreading then.    Most infected cats will have occasional flare ups such as at times of stress but typically it is pretty self limiting and remains mostly asymptomatic.  We would not recommend that Miley go to home where there are immunocompromised cats or young kittens that are not fully vaccinated   Miley's signs so far have been some eye drainage and squinting that haven't seemed to bother her. There are supplements and anti-virals that can be tried in the future to see if that helps decrease the draining. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $100 plus taxHello there! I’m Valentine, a 10-year-old, resilient sweetheart of a kitty with a distinctive little “kiss” mark on my nose. I was surrendered to the rescue on Valentine’s Day, due to sad circumstances that were no fault of my own, leaving behind the only family and home I’d known since I was a kitten. Understandably, for a while, I was heartbroken, confused, and scared. But now, I’ve come out of my shell and am ready for a fresh start!   I’m a curious and friendly cat who loves to seek out attention by rubbing against your legs, meowing, or flopping around. I’ll communicate with you through little meows, chirps, and purrs. If I really want your attention, I’ll give your arm or leg a gentle “tap tap” with my paw as I look sweetly up at you. I like to lay in your lap, especially if you have a cozy blanket. I especially can’t get enough of scratches behind my ears and really lean into them, to the point where sometimes I nearly fall over. Naps on my cat tree or watching the birds are favorite pastimes, but I also enjoy chasing after my feather toys (I still have the playful spirit of a much younger kitty). Treats and soft food are the keys to my heart. My foster mom says I’m a very brave girl, because when I went for my routine vet visit, I wasn’t scared at all of getting in my carrier and visiting a new place.   I’ll be a great companion for someone seeking a laid-back, quiet, and affectionate friend. A quiet environment where I can feel safe and loved would be ideal for me in return. I’ve lived with another cat before, and I’m curious about the feline friends in my foster home, but my foster mom senses I like to be the one in charge and that perhaps it would be best if I’m the only pet in my new home.   If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, brave kitty with a heart of gold, I promise to bring love and gratitude into your life. Let’s make next year’s Valentine’s Day extra special—let’s meet and start our new adventure together!
