Story
Hello, My name is Fern. I was brought to SFAAR at a few weeks old. When I went into get spayed at 3 months old I was diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur and in heart failure. I love all the cats & people that visit. I play and eat like a normal kitty. While my time hear may be short I just celebrated two years in rescue. I was recently spayed & updated on my vaccines. My condition at this time is being controlled with heart meds but we don't know how much longer that could be. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy every second I have & live it to the fullest. If you have experience in having had a cat with a heart condition we will consider adopting her into the right home that will continue her medication and help her keep her quality of life comfortable.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 4, 2024, 3:40 pm

Hello, My name is Ziah. I was brought to the vet for possible euthanasia as I was losing weight & my owner was no longer able to provide for me. I was diagnosed with diabetes & transferred to SFAAR so I could get the care that I needed. I'm well regulated on insulin and special diet. I am a sweet girl that has a lot to say. I'm not shy about calling the shots & wanting to rule the world one day. I am friendly, outgoing girl that is okay on my own or with my sister. Story
Hello, My name is Miah. My sister & I were surrendered to SFAAR after our owner became ill & could no longer care for us. My sister Ziah was diagnosed with diabetes so we were very grateful we both got the care that we need. I'm a friendly, curious girl that loves attention. I'm a bit more reserved & submissive. The polar opposite of my sister. I get along with her but she likes to call the shots. Due to that we aren't having to go to a home together. I can't wait for a second chance of my forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 4, 2024, 3:40 pm

Hello, My name is Samy. I was a stray brought to SFAAR. I was adopted & returned recently as I was not a fan of their dog. I, unfortunately,  was introduced sooner than i was ready so it didn't go well. I'm a friendly,  curious guy that gets along with cats & people. The dogs in my foster hone don't concern me but for now I'm looki g for a no dog home unless you're willing to give me time to adjust to everything in my own time. I am a sweet boy that is reserved but warm up in a more low key lifestyle. He loves his foster mom and warms up in time to new people. He needs a patient, loving home that will give him time the & TLC he will need to feel safe & loved.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 4, 2024, 3:40 pm

Story
MALCOLM and MARNIE are approx. 4 years old. They are both cute brown and white tabbies. They enjoy the routine in their foster home and their individual personalities have blossomed. They love being together and Marnie feels braver with Malcolm nearby. Malcolm has short hair and loves playing with his two rope toys in particular, pushing them under a door and then trying to scoop them back inside. When called, he stops whatever he’s doing to enthusiastically run over for affection. Malcolm is so excited to get neck rubs and back scratches that he happily purrs and bonks his head into anything and everything nearby - furniture, his foster’s legs, his food dish, or whatever else happens to be close! He gives gentle love bites to his foster’s ankles and toes to ask for attention. He will sit on his foster's lap when she is relaxing. Marnie has lovely thick, medium hair and had become more at ease. She is very curious and likes to check out what her people are doing and wants to be in the same room as they are. She loves treats and eats out of her foster’s hand and has learned that being petting is great - just don't move too fast or she will run. Marnie enjoys playing with any kind of interactive feather toy on a string. When she is feeling especially shy, she tucks herself underneath her kitty bed and moves around the room with it on top of her. She loves sitting at the top of her cat tree by the window and watching the activity in the yard. If you are a special person who has a lot of patience and who can give Malcolm and Marnie a quiet home and consistent routine, they will give you so much in return (they do well when they know what to expect). They would do best in a home without other animals or children and in a home where their people don't plan on moving. Malcolm and Marnie are neutered/spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. Their adoption fee is $320 for the adorable pair. Call 651-771-5662 if you are the special person for these two sweet cats.

Story
RILEY is a stunning girl who is approx. 2.5 years old. She is a beautiful brown and black tiger with emerald green eyes and is very sweet and gentle. Riley is happy to be safely indoors; it took her some time to feel brave and trust her fosters but she has blossomed into a wonderful cat. She loves to play with her toys – the ball in the ring that goes around, mice, balls, anything! She will happily come to you if you have a treat for her. When she hears the treat bag, she immediately stretches, then rubs against you or comes to you to get her treats. She sleeps on the bed at night but isn’t a big cuddler yet (that may come with time). Riley loves the other cats in the foster home and will take naps with one of them and hang out in the sunshine with them. She likes to be petted and purrs happily; although she gets scared if a hand surprises her in her face – she likes slow movements and gentle voices (she hasn't been around men). Riley is a sweet and beautiful cat who wants to be loved. She needs a quiet home without dogs or children and a patient, kind adopter who will help her slowly adjust to her new home - just as she has nicely adjusted to her foster home. She would also like a friendly cat or two in her forever home. A home rather than an apartment is preferred so she doesn't have to move and move. Riley is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $175. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about sweet, gentle Riley.

Story
BENNY is an adorable 1 year old (mini panther) all black cat who is the sweetest boy you could find. He is friendly, affectionate, loves people, and enjoys playing with the foster family's cats. He purrs all the time and when he is content and kneading his blanket, he drools (it’s so cute). Benny looks at you adoringly with the sweetest expression and he gives hugs; he enjoys being carried like a baby and getting lots of kisses. He likes sitting by his foster while she is working at the computer or relaxing. Benny is always interested in new things and loves exploring the house. He enjoys sitting by the window and watching the world go by. He plays a lot with one of the foster’s cats - they spend hours playing with the ball in the wheel toy, and he likes chasing toy mice. He is also a great communicator when he wants attention or at meal time. Benny will sleep on the foster’s bed at night or in a cat bed nearby. He likes the cardboard scratching pad and hanging out on the top of the carpeted scratching tree. He would prefer a home rather than an apartment as it takes him a little while to adjust to a new environment. Benny would like a forever home that has a cat-friendly cat who he can spend time with; he does not like dogs. He has not been around children in our program but should be okay with older kids (10+ years). Remember, cats can live 18+ years so be sure you can give him his forever home. Benny is neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about this friendly, affectionate, sweet boy.

Story
FOUR adorable kittens who are 5 months old and are all friendly and social kittens. WREN – she is the only girl in the litter. Wren is a beautiful blue cream who is a little shy at first but warms up to a gentle voice. She is curious and likes to check out new things. Wren loves chasing wand toys and playing with the ball in the ring. She will talk to you when she has something to say. MILES – he is a buff color boy and also a little shy at first like his sister, Wren. He warms up quickly and once he feels comfortable, he is a lovebug. He is such a cute kitten with very soft fur. He likes chasing his toy mice and balls. RUDY – he is an orange tiger and a social kitten who runs and plays with everything. When he wants attention, he will jump up on you. Rudy loves to play with anything that wiggles. He and Oscar would be a good match. OSCAR – he is an orange boy and also social and very playful. He is the most curious one and wants to be involved in what you are doing. He loves chasing all toys. Oscar and Rudy would be a good pair. They all use their carpeted scratching tree and the cardboard floor scratcher. We would like them adopted in pairs because they like having a friend of their own energy level to play with. They are too active to be adopted into a home with an adult cat. They have not been around dogs in the program. Older children (10+ years) would be fine as long as they monitor doors. Wren, Miles, Rudy and Oscar are spayed/neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and have had all three of their kitten distemper vaccinations. Their adoption fee is $200 each. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about these cute and friendly kittens.

Story
Four cute-as-can-be kittens who are approx. 18 weeks old. They are all very cuddly, friendly, playful and social kittens with their own cute personalities. They would like to be adopted with one of their litter mates. Lizzie is a female brown and black tiger who is nearly a twin of her sister Daisy, but Lizzie's nose has a darker outline around it. She is an affectionate sweetheart who loves to curl up and sleep under her foster's chin. Daisy is a female brown and black tiger nearly identical in appearance to Lizzie but with a slightly lighter outline around her nose. The two may look like twins, but Daisy has her own unique personality. Daisy is inquisitive, and she loves being near people, climbing her cat tower and wrestling with her chirping bird toy. Trixie is a female white and gray tabby. She is the most independent of her litter. She is smart and adventurous, and often puzzles out how something new works before her siblings do. Oliver is a male white, brown and gold tabby. He is the only boy in the litter and is the biggest. He is a loving big brother who likes playing with his sisters, carrying his toy spring in his mouth and has a loud happy purr when getting attention from people. He purrs happily when his foster pets him. All four of the kittens are curious and like exploring their foster home, and are very social and mostly want to be in the same room as their foster person as much as possible, whether for playtime or nap time. And, they all like to sit on laps when they are done playing. They all use their carpeted scratching post and cardboard scratcher. They have not been around children or dogs in our program. They would not be a good match for an adult cat as they are very active. Remember, cats can live 18+ years so be sure you can give them their forever home. Lizzie, Daisy, Trixie and Oliver are spayed/neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, and have had all three of their kitten distemper vaccinations. Their adoption fee is $200 each. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about these playful, cuddly kittens. They need to be adopted in pairs.

Story
LEALAH is a beautiful 1.5 year old medium hair, white and black cat with adorable markings. She takes a little while to warm up and feel brave in her safe room but once she adjusts, she is a sweet and fun girl. Lealah plays with enthusiasm and really likes playing with interactive toys with her foster mom and dad. She is a good conversationalist and will talk to you about her day. Lealah enjoys being gently petted but does not like to be picked up (many cats do not like that). She has lots of energy and loves to show her silly side, chasing around her favorite little fabric ball and rolling around. She loves companionship and is very inquisitive, wanting to be a part of any activity that is happening in the home. Once Lealah is tuckered out from playing, she likes to sit or lay by her foster and loves head scratches. She really loves using (and laying on) the cardboard scratchers on the floor. Lealah is a "bookish" cat, enjoying naps in the empty spaces of her foster's built-in bookshelves. She also enjoys sitting and napping by the window and soaking up the sunshine and watching the activity. Lealah was previously in a home with cats but we don’t know if she liked that situation or not. She has not been around cats in her foster home. She has never been around dogs so a home without dogs is required. Since Lealah is shy at first, a home without children is her preference. Her adopter should be a patient person who will help Lealah adjust to her new home. Lealah is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, and distemper and rabies vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Call 651-771-5662 to inquire about beautiful Lealah.
