Story
Meet Cider! Cider is the most loving PEOPLE person. He loves people so much that he doesn't even want other cats around! That's okay, though, because he will give you so much love and attention you won't even realize he's the only kitty in the house. Cider is definitely one of a kind. He snorts when he's grooming himself, and will get quite offended when you find it funny! But he'll forgive you by getting all up in your business and laying across your keyboard while you're working. Cider is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. He does have a sensitive tummy, so he's on special food that helps him feel better. If Cider would be the perfect boy for your home, go to al-van.org/adopt to fill out an application. *Some pet-finding websites aside from our own are very slow to update after an animal is adopted, and this is outside of our control. Story
Tony showed up on our doorstep as a stray, sweet as can be and ready for love. He is very affectionate to humans and loves to snuggle. He is litter trained with absolutely no potty or behavioral issues. Tony sleeps through the night like a dream and doesn’t vocalize at night, or much at all. He might be a senior who moonlights as a lap cat, but he still jumps and moves like a kitten—he’s likely to keep on chugging for a long time! Life on the streets has turned this guy into a very polite gentleman who is just grateful for a warm home and companionship.

Story
Uno is a ninja cat. She was born ready to parkour and defies gravity as she jumps from staircase to windowsill and back again, almost so stealthy that her foster mom barely has a chance to catch her in the act. She is a uniquely intelligent cat, not to be outsmarted by people or toys. One morning, her foster mom woke up to discover that Uno had lined up all her favorite cat toys in a single file line overnight. You have to see the photo to believe it - truly a curious thing to see! Just like kryptonite is to Superman, Uno has one weakness that gets her every time - the sound of her can of food being opened. Nothing comes between her and her wet food. Like many ninjas, she prefers a life of solitude while she practices her art, so she would be best as an only cat with no other cats in the home. She has lived successfully with two older small dogs. She is just 2 years old and is fixed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. She has great litter box habits. Although she is not declawed, she has conquered a cardboard wavy scratching post and does fine using this scratcher instead of furniture. Want to know more about this powerful warrior cat? Email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com for more information. *Did you know we offer a foster to adopt option? This means you can try out a cat in your house for two to four weeks before finalizing an adoption. This time allows you to get to know the cat's personality and to make sure it's a good fit. In the meantime, the original foster home remains open and ready to take the cat back if it's not the right match.*

Story
Do you have that coworker who just can't seem to give you personal space? Do you have that relative that insists on hugging you? By the end of the day, are you just tapped out - your social meter is full, and you're done with people and ready for your own personal space? That's exactly what kind of personality Bandit has - he likes his pets, his walks in his strollers, his wet food, and his foster mom's attention until he is overwhelmed and ready to have his own space. If you get it, you get it, and we are looking for an adopter that understands him. Since Bandit is in a foster home, we have the perfect low key way to meet him - set up a Zoom with his foster mom, Ashlyn, and she can show you him playing and chilling in his own special room. No application needed – just email us to get this virtual meet and greet started! Are you tired of the same old, cuddly, purring lap cats? Do you crave a pet with a bit more... life? Meet Bandit, the cat with a personality as big as his appetite. He's independent, bold, and has a mind of his own. He enjoys doing things his way and on his terms. Here are a few things to know about Bandit: Self-Sufficient: Bandit doesn’t need constant attention. In fact, he prefers his space. He's a great companion for someone who appreciates the company of a cat without the need for constant cuddles. Curious and Adventurous: Bandit loves to explore. He'll find his way into every nook and cranny of your home. If you have interesting spaces, he’ll be thrilled to investigate. Expressive: He’ll let you know exactly what he thinks. Whether it's a meow or a hiss when he's had enough, Bandit communicates clearly. Playful with an Edge: While he enjoys playtime, he has his limits. Interactive toys that keep a safe distance are his favorites. Why Bandit? Adopting Bandit means embracing a cat with a unique personality. He’s not a lap cat, but he’s a loyal and intriguing companion who will keep you on your toes. If you’re looking for a cat with character and aren’t afraid of a few challenges, Bandit might be your perfect match. This 5-year-old cat is fixed, current on vaccinations, had full bloodwork, and is healthy. He has lived successfully with dogs and other cats, but like with any cat, a slow introduction is necessary. If you think you have the right home for this feisty feline, please contact us to arrange a meeting. Bandit is ready to find a forever home that understands and appreciates his unique charm. Are you up for the challenge? *Did you know we offer a foster to adopt option for our cats? This means that you can try the cat out in your house for two to four weeks to make sure it's a good fit before finalizing an adoption. In the meantime, the original foster home stays open, ready to welcome back the cat if it's not the right fit.* Adopting a pet with a strong personality can be incredibly rewarding. Bandit may not be for everyone, but in the right home, he’ll thrive and be a fascinating companion.
