Story
Bitsy and her baby Panda were trying to survive under an abandoned trailer over the winter. We trapped both after a nice lady in the park let us know they had been coming for food. Both were socialized by the lady and would allow her to pet both. Panda very young. He is less than a year and is becoming a big boy. His momma Bitsy adores him and they play and sleep together. They love being inside and rescued. They live with other cats in a foster home currently and are doing well but are still shy a bit. They need a loving home where they can go together and flourish. If they are adopted together to a wonderful home we will waive the adoption fee of the 2nd one. They also can be fostered to adopt or even fostered together if someone wants to get them further along which our rescue will help support you if you are willing. Please reach out to bloomfieldkittyrescue for adoption apps or foster agreements. Thank you.

Story
Mystic is a part of our Hardworking Cats program. This program is generally for cats that would not be suited for traditional adoption, but that would thrive as barn cats, warehouse mousers, or indoor/outdoor companions. Hardworking cats often enjoy a level freedom and independence that other cats may not require but can bring the benefit of chemical free pest control and successfully deter other unwanted animal guests from your property.Mystic came to Michigan Humane from an abandoned home. We don`t have any history on him, but he appears to be a timid, fearful, and unsocial cat. Mystic is not an outgoing guy, rather he is an independent fella that keeps to himself. He likes to hide and keep from sight but will come out at nighttime to feed, explore, and socialize with other cats. Mystic unfortunately is not suitable as a traditional companion cat, and he doesn`t have an outdoor community to return to. So he is now looking for a new farm or barn to call his new home.Due to his lack of socialization and timid nature, we believe that Mystic would be best suited as a warehouse cat, or potentially a barn cat. If Mystic is going to live in a barn, it is important that he be slowly introduced to the environment and contained for 1-2 weeks while adjusting as he may flee from his new home if allowed to roam free too quickly. It is also important that even though he will be an outdoor barn cat, his adopter will still need to provide food, water, and necessary vet care. Mystic is a calm, laid back guy that generally minds his own business and keeps to himself, but does come around when he knows it`s time to eat!

Story
Chloe and Eddie's Story/Official Up for Adoption post Life on the streets is never easy and even with a caretaker providing food, Chloe faced harsh circumstances. She had recently given birth to a litter of kittens, although we will never know how many there originally were as there was only one surviving kitten. Eddie, only a few weeks old was being kept under a wheel barrow to protect him from the elements and a tomcat that wanted nothing more than to rid Chloe of her kittens to get her in heat again. This tomcat was obsessive, constantly stalking Chloe's every move and watching to get at Eddie. Thankfully, the caretaker realized help was needed and contacted BKR for help. Jen immediately jumped into action, grabbing supplies to secure Chloe and Eddie and get them safely inside. After a couple of days, enduring the harsh temps of Michigan winter, Jen had both kitties safe inside the caretaker's house. Unbeknownst to anyone, Chloe had already become pregnant again and as Eddie grew, so did Chloe's belly. Chloe gave birth to 6 new babies, but one was stillborn. Over the next couple months, everything went well. Kitties were happy and healthy and it was time for vetting and going up for adoption. With almost no notice, we were told the caretakers were going out of town and that they planned on taking all the kitties to the shelter. This broke our hearts as we scrambled, trying to figure out a plan. Chloe was taken to the shelter, ripped away from her babies and the comfort and safety of a home she had become accustomed to in the past 6 months. She was stressed and reactive which led to her being labeled as feral and they decided to TNR her. A couple days later, they took the kittens to the shelter. Had we been able to get a foster home on such short notice, we truly wanted to save them all from having to go to a shelter, but time wasn't on our side. Jen adopted Eddie to get him out and we were able to get Chloe before caretakers released her back to the streets. Originally, there was an adopter for both once kitties were settled, but Chloe had regressed and Eddie had become very sick and a few days later, Chloe developed the same symptoms. Both kitties were taken to Leslie's house where Jen and Leslie took turns caring for them, ensuring they ate, got their meds and anything else they needed. With both doing much better physically and mentally, we are now reaching out to find Chloe and Eddie a safe haven for the rest of their lives. We would love to keep them together as they have been through so much together and are comforted in each other's presence. Please share and help us find a home for these two wonderful and deserving kitties. If interested in adopting, you can reach out through messenger or email at bloomfieldkittyrescue@gmail.com.
