Story
Hi I am Fluffy! I am not a very touchy-feely kind of cat, so I may not sit in your lap for hours watching TV or turn into a kitty puddle when you pet me. But I will very happily sit close to you, play with you, and entertain you with my fun antics! In our house, my nickname would be Miss independent, and I am ready for you to follow my lead. As you may have guessed, I would much prefer to be the only feline in your home, and I would thrive in a home without children under 12. Would you like to see my big personality in action? Contact the adoptions staff to set up a meet-and-greet today!Fluffy is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Story
Dale is a super affectionate, elegant big cat with a big purr. He is companionable and friendly and loves to snuggle, sit on laps and be held. He also likes to bird-watch from window-sills and hang out in sunny spots -- he isn't overly needy. He does get nervous and/or over-excited around other cats so might be best in a home where he is the only cat or where the other cat is very mellow. He loves hanging out with human friends and would love to share life with a companion who is retired or works from home. He is enthusiastic about meal time and has plenty of youthful enthusiasm left -- he likes to chase balls and play soccer with toys. He is curious about our cat friendly dogs, but also nervous and unsure around them -- I would only recommend him going to a home with a very laid-back dog who basically ignores cats. He uses his litter boxes frequently and likes them to be clean. Dale is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!

Hi I am June! June came to us a few months ago, ready to give birth to a litter of kittens. She raised those kittens and they went off to new homes, but June is still waiting for her own permanent home! She's playful and loves attention and she would love to find a family who can make sure she gets lots of playtime with them because she loves to chase a feather wand toy!! She can be a high energy gal, but she's also a really loving cat and she's more than ready to find a family to spend her time with! June is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Story
Hi there, my name is Bruno. I am a very sweet and laidback kitty that would love nothing more than a warm lap, good food, and the love of a forever family. Adopting a senior cat like me would be a perfect fit for families that enjoy a more relaxed household. With a senior cat, what you see is, for the most part, what you get when it comes to temperament and personality! Bruno arrived at the shelter with an abnormal, neurologic gait, he is suspected to have cerebellar disease. He will need a patient family to give him time to find his way around his new home, he will need to adjust to being approached without the ability to see who is approaching and may be easily startled, he may bump into objects, maintaining a safe environment for him will be important I am currently under the care of the shelter medical team at HSHV. If you would like to learn more about me, please reach out to the Adoption Desk at (734) 662-5585.

Story
Vivica was a stray roaming the streets of Birmingham, but she's vocal and obviously was a house kitty before being put out on the streets. Now she's been rescued and vetted by a nice lady who says she's great in the house. Getting along with the other kitties and two dogs in the house. She's pleasant and will warm up in a calm home where there are calm views from the windows. So she'd be best in a HOUSE or condo facing woods or a pond. She might be okay in a home with a cat friendly dog or a male kitty who is super laid back. Or she'd be okay with a companion who's a calm adult human who is pretty settled in their home and life. She's fairly young as well, so she's got many years ahead of her. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514 or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com

Story
Bali is a beautiful young kitty. Just over a year old, she has been bonded with house mate Mika. She is a project kitty and needs someone who can give her the patience and time for her to settle in. . But Mika who is her mother isn't so attached to her anymore so they can be separated. They spent the most of last year in someone's basement and it wasn't easy for them to get socialized with the people who owned the house. We had them bring them upstairs into the house to be a part of the family and they have warmed up as we knew they would. They are not able to stay where they have been, so we are looking for a non-smoking home for them so they can live a normal, loving family life in the sunlight and warm of a loving home with people who will make them family members. They like people, maybe a little slow to warm up once we move them to a forever home. Right now they are healthy and ready for a family of their own. Story
Jinx and Jerry are siblings and are approx 10 months old. They were adopted together, they love each other deeply and their family, for whatever reason, can't keep them. We see too much of this and it's extremely sad for the kittens. They are fixed and up to date on shots, indoor only. We are looking for a non smoking home for them together. Very sweet and playful, they are fine with kids and can learn to love a cat friendly dog. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514 or email me your phone number to marlas2468@yahoo.com

Story
Valentino's orignal litter we caught them so long ago. He is adorable and REALLY ready for a home of his own where he can snuggle and play attack cat with your feet. He is sweet and just a doll. He needs to be inside now forever, He is bonded with her brother who unfortunately not calm. We can't tame him, but he is going back to their colony with their mother. Valentio is calmer and ready for a home of his home to be part of a family. Very sweet. He'd be best with an older child if there are ANY children in the home or he's great with adults as he likes people and is always begging for more petting. Good with dogs too. Story
Paisley is as cute as a button, but she has a gorgeous coat, just beautiful. She's a classic tabby with faint peach coloring. A Torbie. She and her siblings were from a Belleville trailer park. They were living under a skirt from trailer with a colony of cats and their mother who was a beautiful Torbie tuxedo and we did get her fixed and she is back at the trailer park where someone if feeding them all the time now. She and her bonded brother Phoenix were the last of their litter of seven to be caught. Paisley is a beautiful torbie. She's got the sweetest face. She needs a home with her sibling Phoenix. They were tamed by a nice family of three little girls who spent a lot of time with them. Her brother is smaller than she is. He is a really pretty very light color buff/orange tabby. They are a very cute pair who need a non smoking home where they can grow old and happy together and play to their hearts content. We want a non-smoking home. Indoor only. Story
Paprika and Paella are brothers and very busy, very playful. They are with their mother, Yian, still and ready for a home of their own. There were five in the litter, four survivors and they were born inside, so always been indoors. They are a bit skittish as they were fostered by two students often in school or working, so they need a little more people time. We are looking for non smoking homes where they will be indoor only. For more information call or text me at 517 294 4514 or email me your information at marlas2468@yahoo.com. Be sure to include your phone number if you want a return response from us.

Story
Snickers was rescued from Jackson county Animal shelter. She will turn a yr old in May. She is sweet, loving, and energetic. She gets along with other people young and old. We are looking for a new forever home for her due to our apartment pet policy. We have an older cat and 2 small dogs she has been around since we had her too. Great playmates. She is fixed and has her shots. We are not charging a fee to rehome as we just want her to be with loving people in a good safe environment so she can continue to grow and love her new family.
