Story
Ranger is a sweet and laid back boy who was dealt a bad first hand in life. He was an outdoor cat since the beginning, and found his way by becoming part of a colony of cats fed by a neighborhood in Kalamazoo. His caretaker noticed he had gotten into a fight recently which resulted in a huge abscess on his face and ear. This is when we were contacted to help him. He came to the rescue where we treated his wounds, neutered and vaccinated him. But as a result of living outside he does have FIV. Now that he is an indoor kitty his FIV diagnosis is easy to manage and should have little to no affect on his future. FIV positive cats can live safely indoors with other cats whether they are FIV positive or not, as long as they get along. Ranger has not been fully tested with cats or dogs yet, but with the slight interactions his foster has exposed him to so far she believes he will have no problems. We will update his profile when we are confident in his ability to coexist well with other animals. FIV cats typically live normal lives when kept indoors, but because it is an autoimmune disease so it is recommended that Ranger has a good quality diet with some added immune support vitamins. Ranger has adjusted well to living indoors and is happiest just laying around not having to worry about a thing. He loves being petted and is ready to find a family that will give him the best second chance at life. Could that be you? His foster parents are KAR Office.   The adoption fee for Ranger is $70. If more than one cat or kitten is adopted the adoption fees are discounted. Please complete our online application form if you are interested in adopting Ranger.
