Story
We adopted Ryu four years ago -- he was 6 months old and he hid under the couch for nearly a week before he got comfortable with us. But once he warms up, he's the sweetest. He's now a perfect chunky boy that loves playing fetch and cuddling on human bellies. Gets along great with dogs -- very playful. He also is very patient and very gentle with our kids (ages 10 and 6; when Ryu joined the family, our kids were 6 and 2). Loves hair ties, anything with feather or string, and red laser dots. Will nip your legs if you don't feed him fast enough! We are not home enough at the level Ryu deserves, and want to find him the best cat mom or dad that would spoil him rotten.

Story
Meet Girly, a lovely lady looking for her forever home. When she arrived at the shelter after her owner died, she was severely underweight and in bad shape. But once the shelter staff nursed her back to health, they reached out to the MCSPCA for a foster home, and Girly adapted well to leaving the shelter, lounging in the sun, playing with feather toys, and watching birds out the window. Due to her playfulness, the MCSPSA’s vet estimates she may be younger than what the shelter originally thought. But she is now happy, healthy, and ready to go to her forever home. She is a sweet and affectionate cat, although she does have her boundaries. She will keep you company as you work from home and has no qualms about interrupting your zoom calls or demanding pets. She is curious and outgoing, and likes her food (she will not let you forget meal time) and feather toys. She is talkative, and will ask for food or playtime. She will sleep on your bed or next to you on the sofa, and greet you when you come home. She would be a wonderful addition to any family. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Story
Burritos and his brother are an inseparable pair looking for their forever home together. These playful, loving kitties born on/around March 31, 2024, are the perfect combination of spunky and sweet with little motors that can run a long time, and they're ready to bring double the joy to your home. These boys share a special bond and find comfort in each other's company. They play together, nap together, explore together and are always looking out for one another. Adopting them as a pair means double the love and double the fun. Also by having a built in playmate who is always ready to go, they are more likely to adjust well to any household with or without other pets.        They are well-socialized, respectful of the foster mom's resident cats and have been exposed to a few cat friendly dogs whose company is often sought out. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Story
Lilly is a gray tuxedo born May 4, 2024. Lilly is a fun, energetic, playful, goofy, typical kitten. She is a cautious explorer, taking her time to check out new surroundings before she fully commits. She loves to run around and play with her foster mom’s other cats. Lilly has adapted to being around multiple other cats, of all ages, and a large dog. She doesn’t mind any of them, well maybe the dog, but if the dog gets too rowdy she just runs off. She’s way faster than the dog and small enough to have many places to hide. Lilly would be fine as an only cat who gets lots of attention and play time, but would probably like having at least one cat friend she could play with. When Lilly is not causing typical kitten mayhem, she likes to spend her down time in a nice cat tree with a view out the window. Lilly is sweet and affectionate on her terms and when she wants it, so stereotypically cat like. Foster mom wishes she would hold still more often because her fur is so very soft and a joy to pet. Lilly would be a fun loving addition to any home. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Story
Goji is absolutely full of love for people. He was born in April of 2024. He is very gentle and sweet and loves, loves, loves people. He enjoys nothing more than being petted or rubbed and being the center of attention. He is great with dogs and other cats but really enjoys being snuggled by a human more than interacting with a fellow pet. Goji melts the heart of anyone he meets with his eagerness to purr for them. He is a bold explorer and adapts quickly to new situations or pets. Goji would be fine in a home as the only pet as long as he gets plenty of attention. Goji has been neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, tested negative for Feline leukemia and Feline AIDS and microchipped. To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Story
Blueberry, born April 2024, is one of the most unique animals I have had the pleasure to meet. He is extremely goofy and LOVES to play. He is very gentle while playing. He really enjoys being close to you, snuggling on your lap while you work, and being carried around. He is good with dogs, but it takes him a little bit to adjust. Blueberry will never fail to make you laugh. You will never feel alone around this goofy little dude. He needs to be adopted into a home with another kitten/cat. Blueberry needs to be adopted with Huckle (Huckleberry). To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
