Domestic Shorthair kittens & cats in Lafayette, Louisiana

Paws is very sweet young brown tabby with very cute white paws who likes to cuddle (see 2nd picture) once he’s ready to rest. He also has a lot of energy like some young cats do. I found Paws when he was very tiny (see 3rd picture) at an O’Reilly’s where I feed other cats. He ran right up to me to be rescued. Paws enjoys playing & also loves to eat. He would probably do best in a home where someone has time to play with him/tire him out & he has plenty of toys to keep him busy. Paws has made cat friends when gradually introduced & then they will play well but his strong personality might be a bit much for some cats, especially if they are very laid back. He has not been around kids but as he likes to play he would probably do well with them.

Buddy is a super sweet, cuddly white kitten with orange tabby spots who was found in Abbeville, LA with his sister, Lil Red, when maybe 5 weeks old (around 10 weeks old at the end of June). They are a bonded pair that the rescuer/foster mom would like to be adopted together. Lil Red is the orange tabby kitten with white in the picture of them together. Buddy sleeps at the head of her bed & Lil Red sleeps by her side. They will also sleep in her lap and Buddy likes to be on foster mom’s chest and put his arms around her neck/look in her eyes . Both kittens love the cat tree (which will go with them to new home), playing with toys or even empty pill bottles, and, of course, each other. They are very trainable and get along great with a gentle golden retriever. They haven’t really been around children but are very gentle and adaptable so that should not be a problem.

Lola is a beautiful, super sweet young adult cat who loves people. I found her at a local Dollar General where I feed community cats. When you rub her head she will raise her paw to touch your hand. Lola also enjoys playing, her scratching post and canned cat food treats. She is used to my small (under 20#) dogs as well as other cats. I have not seen her interact with children but she is very gentle so I think she would do well with them. She purrs a lot and is often vocal with a tiny meow, and will rub on you. We started feeding her Purina One Tender Selects Salmon, which she eats very well, but she was happy with Kit & Kaboodle as well.

Sabrina is a sweet 6 month old tortoiseshell kitten who was found near a spay neuter clinic with her sister, having been dumped there from across town. She likes to be on the move like many kittens do but also will cuddle with you. Sabrina enjoys canned cat food treats and playing with the other foster kittens. She hasn’t really been around dogs or kids but I’m sure could get used to either with proper introduction.

Meredith used to be a member of a feral cat colony in Broussard. They have a caretaker that sees to their needs, and they all usually do fairly well there. However, we decided to take in Meredith because she was quite sick and needed to be on medication for multiple weeks. During that time, she's been in a foster home and has adjusted to the house-cat life quite well. She's now completely healthy and ready to find a forever home! Meredith is very much a diva and likes things her way. She's more like a roommate than a pet, to be honest. She can be very vocal when she wants something, usually either food or to go in/out of a specific room. She's not really a cuddley cat, but she does enjoy people's company. You'll often find her napping on the couch next to her foster parents while they're watching TV. The best way to win over Meredith's heart is through food - any kind of treats will do. You can also always count on her to join you in the kitchen when you're cooking food or sitting down for a meal. Meredith absolutely adores other cats and loves to play with the other foster kittens. Because of this, we'd love to see her go to a home that already has one or more friendly cats, but she'd probably be fine as an only child too. She's currently living with three large dogs and gets along with them quite well as long as they respect her personal space. Zion and his brother, Dion, are the most affectionate little guys! They will hop up on your lap to snuggle and purr. Like most kittens, they also love to climb, chase, and wrestle with each other. They are both pretty easy-going and quickly adapted to being around large cats and dogs. They're great with children too! What makes these boys extra special is their *extra* toes. These boys are polydactyl, which makes it look like they're wearing mittens year-round! I am Lemon Pepper and best friends with my twin seester! I am the outgoing one and love exploring the world around me. I am very protective of Rosemary, so I explore the situation and let her know that it is okay if she does too. I love cuddles and scratches behind my ears. There is never a problem with picking me up and loving on me. But when it is time for a nap, Rosemary needs to be right beside me. I cant sleep if we aren't touching. I have a lot of energy and that makes playtime fun! I can be a little mischievous at times, but Rosemary lets me know to settle down. When I don't want to listen to her, I am easily redirected with a "No ma'am. " My job is to keep my foster family entertained, and I do a really good job. I am the sweetest of kitties.

My name is Rosemary, and I am a princess. I am a lot more reserved and cautious than Lemon Pepper. Thank goodness she is always around to let me know something is safe and it is okay to interact with it. I really dont know what i would do without her. I know I look scared in my picture, but I was just waiting on her for nap time, and I was a little chilly. I love chin scratches and back rubs, but these things are going to be done when I'm ready. Well... it's more like when I get jealous of Lemon Pepper getting all the loves. When i decide it is my turn, I am the purriest of kitties. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and keep my sister in check. I help her get groomed when she doesn't do it well enough, keep our bed in order, and keep the litter box nice and covered up. Making biscuits in our bed is how I let her know it is nap time. I am always the first one to test the treats, but pate meals are a no-go for this princess. I have come a LONG way since we left the shelter, and our foster family believes it would be bad for my progress if I went back or was adopted by a different family from my sister. Please don't take her from me!

Isa is 3 years old and a tiny 5 lb kitty with lots of energy! She loves to run and play with toys. She's a chatty cat and will have a full conversation if you meow at her! She loves to sit and cuddle once she's done running. The fastest way to her heart is with tuna! We will gift you her cat tree, cat bed, and some toys as well if you're interested!
