Domestic Shorthair kittens & cats in Abbeville, Louisiana

Meet our beautiful Katalie. Katalie was found after giving birth to her 7 beautiful babies. Katalie was a great mommy. So great that she took in a little orphan baby no questions asked. That gave Katalie 8 little babies to take care of. Her babies are now grown and have found furever homes. Katalie lives with several her cats and they all know she's the boss. She is capable of living with other cats but would probably like to be the only one as she can be a bit sassy at times. November 4, 2024, 11:32 am

Beautiful Avi is ready for her forever home! This sweet girl ended up at animal control with her babies and ended up spending months there. Sheâs had some time to learn how to be a house cat and she would love a quiet house of her own! She really loves playing with toys and with her younger foster sister. Sheâs ok with kids but she prefers attention from adults. She will follow you around the house and meet you at the door when you get home. This little sweety is Cobi. She needs a quiet home with a patient person. She has blossomed some already but was semi feral when she and her kittens came to me. Her babies have gone to their homes but sweet little Cobi is looking for hers. She has the potential to be a love bug. She just needs a little encouragement. She is a gentle soul and loves attention just not having to compete with too many other cats to get it. She is easily bullied but I think she would eventually get used to a friend or two with time.November 4, 2024, 11:32 am

This pretty girl is Taylor and she is waiting for her new family to scoop her up and take her to her new home. She is very timid around new people so she will do best in a home that understands her fears and has the patience for her to acclimate at her own pace. She gets along great with other cats so having kitty siblings would ideal. She's never been tested with dogs.November 4, 2024, 11:32 am

Paws is very sweet young brown tabby with very cute white paws who likes to cuddle (see 2nd picture) once he’s ready to rest. He also has a lot of energy like some young cats do. I found Paws when he was very tiny (see 3rd picture) at an O’Reilly’s where I feed other cats. He ran right up to me to be rescued. Paws enjoys playing & also loves to eat. He would probably do best in a home where someone has time to play with him/tire him out & he has plenty of toys to keep him busy. Paws has made cat friends when gradually introduced & then they will play well but his strong personality might be a bit much for some cats, especially if they are very laid back. He has not been around kids but as he likes to play he would probably do well with them.

Buddy is a super sweet, cuddly white kitten with orange tabby spots who was found in Abbeville, LA with his sister, Lil Red, when maybe 5 weeks old (around 10 weeks old at the end of June). They are a bonded pair that the rescuer/foster mom would like to be adopted together. Lil Red is the orange tabby kitten with white in the picture of them together. Buddy sleeps at the head of her bed & Lil Red sleeps by her side. They will also sleep in her lap and Buddy likes to be on foster mom’s chest and put his arms around her neck/look in her eyes . Both kittens love the cat tree (which will go with them to new home), playing with toys or even empty pill bottles, and, of course, each other. They are very trainable and get along great with a gentle golden retriever. They haven’t really been around children but are very gentle and adaptable so that should not be a problem.

Lola is a beautiful, super sweet young adult cat who loves people. I found her at a local Dollar General where I feed community cats. When you rub her head she will raise her paw to touch your hand. Lola also enjoys playing, her scratching post and canned cat food treats. She is used to my small (under 20#) dogs as well as other cats. I have not seen her interact with children but she is very gentle so I think she would do well with them. She purrs a lot and is often vocal with a tiny meow, and will rub on you. We started feeding her Purina One Tender Selects Salmon, which she eats very well, but she was happy with Kit & Kaboodle as well.

Sabrina is a sweet 6 month old tortoiseshell kitten who was found near a spay neuter clinic with her sister, having been dumped there from across town. She likes to be on the move like many kittens do but also will cuddle with you. Sabrina enjoys canned cat food treats and playing with the other foster kittens. She hasn’t really been around dogs or kids but I’m sure could get used to either with proper introduction.

Meredith used to be a member of a feral cat colony in Broussard. They have a caretaker that sees to their needs, and they all usually do fairly well there. However, we decided to take in Meredith because she was quite sick and needed to be on medication for multiple weeks. During that time, she's been in a foster home and has adjusted to the house-cat life quite well. She's now completely healthy and ready to find a forever home! Meredith is very much a diva and likes things her way. She's more like a roommate than a pet, to be honest. She can be very vocal when she wants something, usually either food or to go in/out of a specific room. She's not really a cuddley cat, but she does enjoy people's company. You'll often find her napping on the couch next to her foster parents while they're watching TV. The best way to win over Meredith's heart is through food - any kind of treats will do. You can also always count on her to join you in the kitchen when you're cooking food or sitting down for a meal. Meredith absolutely adores other cats and loves to play with the other foster kittens. Because of this, we'd love to see her go to a home that already has one or more friendly cats, but she'd probably be fine as an only child too. She's currently living with three large dogs and gets along with them quite well as long as they respect her personal space.
