Story
Baxter is a 3 year old male cat who was rescued after showing up at a kind persons job site. He is in a foster home with both small dogs and cats. It takes him awhile to warm up to new animals and he would enjoy a forever home with no other or fewer animals. He would prefer that other animals respect his personal space and he will let them know when they are too close. Baxter just wants to be with his person! He can be silly and playful and likes to play with his toys and run around. He likes to lay with you and make biscuits with his paws. He has become quite the lap cat but also loves to lounge around on the back of the couch, look out the window, and watch the birds. Since he was found outside, he will need a diligent owner who will make sure he doesn’t escape out an open door. We recommend no young children who could accidently let him outside. He would do fine with older children/teens. Apply today to meet this sweet gentleman. If you are interested in meeting Baxter, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Cat and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. This will get you the fastest response. Baxter's adoption fee is $75 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, and testing for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. All cats adopted from The Rescue Project are intended to be indoor only cats.

Story
Miss Kitty is a precious 13 year old girl looking for an amazing retirement home! 👵🏼. She is the most wonderful lap cat, who enjoys cuddling, light play, and naps! She gets around great from a mobility standpoint and loves to be her person's shadow, following them room to room. Miss Kitty had an owner who loved her very much. However, the owner was homeless and living in her car. It was a very hard decision, but her owner decided to surrender Miss Kitty so she could have better life in her golden years. 💛 She has diabetes but it is managed well with diet and she does not require insulin or other medication at this time. She is thriving after some good vet care and change to high quality food. She also just had a full dental! Miss Kitty is great with other cats and used to live with a dog. She would do best in a quieter home as she’s a super laid-back girl who just wants to relax, cuddle, watch out the windows, and enjoy the sun. If you’re looking for a chill, loving lap cat, Miss Kitty is your girl!! Senior pets are frequently overlooked. Please consider adopting Miss Kitty or another senior pet! If you are interested in meeting Miss Kitty, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Cat and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Captain Crouton is the most affectionate and funny guy. Guessed to be around 6 years of age, he is quite the chatty boy and loves to snuggle and cuddle as much as possible. CC is comfortable with respectful dogs who do not chase him and we think he would do well with older kids who won't let him accidentally escape outdoors. He's also adjusted to the other cats in his foster home. CC was found as a stray and happened to wonder up to the perfect home with one of our foster parents. We think he likely had to compete with other cats for resources in his time outside. In his time outside, Captain Crouton contracted feline immunodeficiency virus. This is a non-lethal virus that he will always have. It is spread to other cats through blood or saliva. It IS NOT contagious to humans or dogs. It is very important that he be kept as a strictly indoor cat given his FIV+ status. He is a big and healthy boy who can't wait to join your home. Learn more about FIV at: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951815 If you are interested in meeting Captain Crouton, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Cat and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Aurelia may take a bit of time to get comfortable with you, but once she does your patience will be immensely rewarded by this very sweet and loving girl. She is 4 years old and is a very mellow and low-key companion. She enjoys being with her people, will follow them room to room, and enjoys chirping and chatting with them. This girl loves her belly rubs so be ready to dish them out! Aurelia would prefer a more quiet home where she can take naps on the couch next to her person. She loves pets and will put her little head on your leg when she wants to be close. Watching squirrels and birds out the windows is also a favorite pastime. She does not like to be picked up so we suggest no young children. She uses her litter box and scratching post well and likes to play for short periods of time. This girl loves to eat and you can count on her to be in the kitchen when foster mom is fixing her meal. Wet pate is her favorite! Aurelia will be a wonderful companion for an adult home. She would do best as the only pet in the home with no other cats or dogs. If you are interested in meeting Aurelia, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Cat and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Bonsai is the most gentle and loving mama who is looking for her forever home. This girl is about 3 years old and is a total gem. She loves her people and LOVES being an indoor cat after being rescued as a pregnant stray. She is a non-stop purring, biscuit making machine. Her favorite toy is a furry ball that squeaks. She is fine being picked up and likes to be a lap cat. No other cats or dogs in her forever home would be best. Bonsai has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. Hers is very mild and causes her no limitations . She is simply a little wobbly in her gait. This does not affect her overall health or how long she'll live. She is a healthy and happy girl! Apply today to meet his awesome girl!
