Story
After about a week of decompressing she began to pick her people. Other cats didn't bother her so much. If someone is sitting down, at a desk for example trying their best to do work, she will jump into their lap, put her paws around their neck and vigorously rub all over the person's face. The purrs will come and you can tell how much she is loving the interaction. However, then sometimes her "issues" come out.....not because she doesn't want to not be petted or loved, because she doesn't wan't it to stop. She will growl when the person tries to remove her, she may even nip, but not hard, just to say "no". However, if soft voices and slow movements are used, she will move and gladly sit beside the person. Yes, it is something to work on -- but It is amazing to be that loved by a cat!!! We will continue to work on this quirk.Adoption Fee: $150Cut and Paste application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ct0QYvSBYVQvBXjU3oFPH7nMRnuzAob4K24LdDMRM8U/editSneezer had been a PAWS animals control with a constant URI. She was treated, but they couldn't get rid of her URI. We agreed to pull her and sent her directly to our vet. She was so very nervous, She had no clue what it going on in her life. She walked among the other cats, yet she growled to show her lack of understanding. She loves people to rub her, but when they first approach, she sometimes gives a hiss.

Story
Geraldine and her sister, Gwyneth came to us and were rather scared. We planned to send them on transport where they could live outside, then we found how sweet they were. Gwyneth has scarred eyes and we were very hesitant to have her living outside anyway. Once we began working with them, we found that they were very bonded and Geraldine helps her sister "see". Gwyneth isn't blind, but the scarring is fairly extensive and she doesn't see well. Geraldine is such a good sister. They both love to be petted and talked to, but are not used to being picked up. At this time, that is not their thing and it may never be. They've only been in a kennel since coming to us, but it is possible once they are in their very own home, they will love sitting on their owner's laps. We just don't know for sure. We are hoping there is someone out there willing two take these 2 bonded sisters and give them a chance at a wonderful life. We are going to do a special adoption fee for anyone willing to adopt these girls together. If you think you may be that person, please let us know and we will set up a chance for you to meet them.Adoption Fee: $150 for both Geraldine and GwynethCut and Paste application: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1ct0QYvSBYVQvBXjU3oFPH7nMRnuzAob4K24LdDMRM8U/editWoman with 22 cats showed up at Catapaluza and needed help. Story
Socks has been with us a week now and she is settling in a bit. She is still not thrilled with living with all these cats and she is not thrilled without getting personal attention instead of having to share the love. She will come out to volunteers and accept their strokes. On occasion, she will give a hiss, but just to let us know she hasn't let her guard totally down. We so hope she won't have to be here much longer. This is not the place for this girl who has always lived in a home. She gets a lot of attention because of her size, but she doesn't feel any different that any other cat. She'd love someone to come and accept her as a beautiful, plus size woman. Come and meet her and maybe you will be the one to welcome her to your home. Socks was turned in as a surrender at a vet we frequent and we were asked if we could take her in and find her a great home. Socks is a bit confused about what is going on in her life right now. She gets along find with other cats and she lets people pet her, but not without giving them a hiss. We will work on that.Socks is a big girl -- Maybe she will lose some weight while here or in her new home. She is ready and would probably settle down much more quickly in a home instead of a shelter. Would you like to give this big girl a chance?? Let us know.

Older Kitten that came in with a group of Ferals from a feral round up. She was very scared and unsocialized, but we saw potential in taming her and getting her a good home instead of having to go to a barn to hunt mice.

Story
Greg/Wink came in with his brother from another litter/cousins, Melvin and Crane from a hoarding situation. They were at a shelter in a neighboring county and were labeled as feral. These 3 boys were far from Feral. They were probably terrified when they were trapped and taken to a shelter. They have lots of energy and love to play. Greg looks like a street cat. He could easily be mistaken as feral if he was spotted in a dark alley. He had a very infected eye that had to be removed, so now he only has one eye. He was covered in fleas and had a terrible flea allergy and lost part of his fur. It is now growing back, but isn't quite there yet. He still has a few scabs from all of his scratching. But the looks are the only thing feral about this boy. He does sometimes get irritated if other cats get in his space, but in general he gets along fine. He would love someone to consider adopting him and showing him what a truly loving home is like. Let us know if you want to give this skinny, long legged tux a try!!!
