Story
Lemon and Tangerine are 8 month old littermates. Their mom hung around our porch for months and one day (end of April 2024) she brought her kittens who looked to be roughly 8 weeks old. They all hung around for a while until their mom left them a few months later so we took the boys in. They are house-trained and exclusively indoor cats. They are microchipped, neutered, and all up to date on shots! They are extremely playful and are great at occupying themselves. Lemon is more high-energy. He loves being held, extra pets, any toys with feathers, and to pounce on Tangerine no matter what. Tangerine is more mellow but loves bed snuggles. He loves toy mice and chasing jingly balls around. They both love watching birds from the window and will chatter together. We are hoping they go to a home that can give them the current attention that they crave. They have a lot of energy and require a lot of play time. They are goofy boys that love to wrestle each other. They get along extremely well.

Story
Allow me to introduce Cheeto, a resilient feline with a heart as big as his journey. Despite a rocky beginning, he embodies the spirit of perseverance and resilience that defines his character. Abandoned and left to fend for himself, Cheeto was discovered covered in oil, a symbol of neglect and abandonment. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor intervened, bringing him into the care of his foster mom, who became his guiding light on the path to recovery. Cheeto's capacity for love knows no bounds, and he thrives on the warmth of human affection. A gentle soul, he finds solace in the simple pleasures of life, content to observe the world from his vantage point. Whether basking in the sun or curling up in a cozy corner, he embraces each moment with quiet grace. While he enjoys the company of other cats and finds joy in playful interactions, Cheeto is equally content in his own company. His adaptable nature allows him to find happiness wherever he goes, grateful for the love and care he receives each day. Despite his remarkable resilience, Cheeto does have some special needs that require attention. A heart condition necessitates medication twice daily, a small price to pay for the boundless love he offers in return. Fortunately, Georgia Heartland generously supports his medical care, ensuring that his needs are met without placing a burden on his future family. In addition to his medication regimen, Cheeto follows a special diet that consists exclusively of dry food, catering to his unique dietary requirements. While he may have had some challenges in the past, including a propensity for spraying, Cheeto has made tremendous strides in his journey toward healing and relaxation. As Cheeto eagerly awaits his second chance at a loving family, his foster parents stand ready to share insights into his gentle nature and remarkable resilience. With a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to be dimmed, Cheeto is poised to bring joy and companionship to his forever home, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to welcome him into their hearts. ##990677##

Story
Sheba is a 4-year-old, diluted tortoiseshell who entered our care when her family suddenly had to leave the country and couldn’t take her with them. Imagine the overwhelming sadness for both the humans and their beloved cat.Her foster-dad describes Sheba as a very calm cat who is curious and will investigate what you’re up to. Sheba thoroughly enjoys having her rump, chin, and cheeks scratched. Once this shy girl has a chance to decompress in her new surroundings, she’ll be your best gal-pal and hang out with you while you relax or work from home. This beauty will thrive best as an only kitty in a quiet home. We feel that an experienced adopter, with good cat “mojo” is best match for this queen. Let’s give this sweet baby her second chance to find another loving family. Please schedule your meet and greet by completing your no obligation application at nchsrescue.org. Inside kitty only.

Story
Hi, I'm Thorin and I'm a cat's cat! What does that mean? Well, I love the company of other cats but I'm not so sure about people. I will come out and make myself known to the people but I am very skittish of people. My foster mom can only pet me when I'm in the cat tower or pop-up bed. I can be brought out with a feather toy, but I really love just hanging out with other cats rather than people.I would do best starting in a smaller area to get used to my new environment. I am a great companion for you when you eat dinner. My foster mom has spoiled me with the attention and I am getting used to people and their sudden movements. I still prefer quiet as I just love gazing out the window watching the birds. If you're looking for a cat that will be friends with your cat, then please consider me, it will take time for me to want human companionship.Apply at nchsrescue.org/adopt

Story
Alpine is a handsome fella who is looking for a great forever home. He is estimated to be about a year old and is bonded to Cinnamon. While he is shy initially, he loves to romp and play, and it is game-on when the fishing pole toy comes out. Alpine will thrive best in a home that is quieter and with a pet owner who understands that shy cats need a couple weeks to gain their confidence in a new home. He regularly seeking affection, enjoys pets, and loves being brushed. Due to his white coat (and our rules), he must be an inside kitty only and no declawing is permitted. To be considered, please apply at www.nchsrescue.org.

*FOS-PICE SITUATION* Si is a handsome Flame Point Siamese but he has a grade 4 bordering grade 5 heart murmur. Per conversations with the vet, he will not have the lifespan of an average cat. It could be 18 months to possibly 5 years of love. Si has a daily medicine that he takes 2x day in his wet food, like a champion! So NCHS is looking for a forever home for him that can provide him a comfortable life.Si is very sweet and affectionate. He loves to be with you although prefers all four feet on the floor. He's playful and chatty. Complete your application at www.nchsrescue.org. Indoor only; No declawing permitted.
