Story
Thor is the Friends of Felines 2023 and 2024 Drama King Award Winner 🏆 🏆 🏆 for 2 years running. He complains about everything and gets extremely cranky when he's hungry. If you try to cut his nails, you are literally murdering him and he lets the whole neighborhood know this. He loves cat treats and will get very vocal when he's ready for some. Here are his redeeming qualities: He loves to play (a lot) and he is a LAP CAT when he is sleepy. He will lay on you when it's TV time. He will sleep on your chest, wrap his arms around your neck and want to be held like a baby. You can push him off of you repeatedly and he'll just try again until you give in.Thor will get overstimulated with new smells and will need about a day or 2 to adjust to a new situation and new animals. Due to Thor's stomach issues and the amount of time it took to diagnose Thor with stomatitis, he is FOF longest foster without a home. (born into foster in April of 2023). Most of Thor's teeth have been pulled and that has made him a healthier and happier cat.Stomatitis is a painful condition that causes inflammation and ulcers in a cat's mouth, including the gums, cheeks, and tongue. This condition can cause Irritable bowel syndrome when left untreated. Thor's teeth have been pulled to decrease the inflammation and belly aches he was consistently experiencing. His teeth were pulled back on 7/3/24 so he needs a special diet of Purina one sensitive skin and stomach (along with probiotics) as his stomach continues to heal.https://bit.ly/fofadoptionapplication

Story
Oreo may be FIV positive, but he is the most gentle soul. He has been in a mixed household without exhibiting any concerns for spreading the virus. He's playful but not rough by any means. He's passive and loves all cats. He just wants everybody to love him. He's an awesome cat. He's fun to watch because he's so playful and acts like a little kitten. He was surrendered to us because the owner went into the hospital without the family realizing it. For 2 weeks the animals in the home went without food and water. Oreo was only 1 of 2 animals to survive starvation. When the family realized what had happened, they immediately contacted our rescue. He is bonded to Mustang.

Story
Mustang was found suffering from 3rd degree burns to his face along with a double ear infection. He received treatment at Saint Francis animal hospital for his injuries (which they believe were done intentionally). The vet feels these burns were something that was done to him intentionally. Unfortunately he tested positive for feline aids, but has been in a mixed household with no complications. He is an extremely passive, non-aggressive cat who is able to be around negative FIV cats without fear of transmission. He loves people, despite his previous experiences. Despite his high pain level at the beginning of my care for him, he never showed aggression with me while receiving his burn treatments. He is bonded to Oreo.He deserves a loving family who is ready to give him a forever safe home.

Story
Julius was surrendered to Augusta Animal Services. He was suffering from severe dermatitis and ring worm upon intake. He tested positive for FIV, so the shelter was going to euthanize. We pulled him into our rescue for treatment and a chance at life. He received medical care at Best Friends Animal Clinic and has now healed from all his skin issues. He is gentle and lazy. He loves to sun himself and he does like other cats. He has no issues with aggression. He is a polydactyl.

Story
Frankie now Spiderman....because he scurries likes a spider across the floor, was found as a tiny feral kitten living on the streets of South Augusta with a non-functioning lame leg. We struggled to socialize him because he was extra cautious of people due to his disability. Since his leg didn't cause him pain, we chose to delay surgery until he was at a safer weight. Once he hit 4 pounds, we opted for surgery. Once the leg was removed, he became a more confident better adjusted cat. He will need time to acclimate to new people and a new home, but he's food and "churu" motivated and will transition with anyone willing to work with him. He loves when you sing him the spiderman theme song and prefers to be held against your chest instead of flipped. He still scoots instead of hopping, because that's where he originally built all his muscles to compensate for the lack of the back leg. Occasionally, I will see him hop, but he prefers to drag himself, which is not harming him in any way. He has no issues using the bathroom and loves to play in tunnels.

Story
Julian was adopted by a lady who soon after went into the hospital with back pain to discover she had stage 4 cancer. Julian was than left alone in the house being cared for by a neighbor for over 2 months. The previous owner was losing her battle with cancer and wanted her 2 kittens placed with a rescue. It took Julian a minute to acclimate to not being alone all day, but once he let go of his fear, he became a well adjusted kitten, who is now looking for another chance at a loving home.

Story
Chaco, born in 2021, is a beautiful rare chocolate kitty. I rescued him off the street when he was around a year old because he had an injured foot that was infected. After healing, he was vaccinated, neutered and he tested negative for Felv/Fiv. He was such a a docile kitty and by the time his foot healed, The owners of the property did not want another cat being released to the same area. We actually wanted to keep Chaco but we have two other cats that bully him and keep him in a state of fear. He seems to do well with other friendly cats and our dog as well. We've never witnessed him around kids. Chaco, while skittish, is friendly and desires relationship but needs time to settle in and realize that he's in a safe environment. Once he feels safe and sees that you bring him food and can efficiently administer butt scratches, he looks for opportunities to relate. He's also litter box trained. He's going to make someone very happy.
