Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Birthdate: August 2018   Update: 2022 Dara is an adult now, who looks very much like her kitten pictures. So she is now a big girl and completely grown up. She’s quite shy, but loves people and will take some time to adjust. The best environment for Dara would be a calm quiet home. When Dara is comfortable, she loves to cuddle and get some really good back scratches and cheek love. She still loves her pole toys and human company, Dara currently shares space with two other cats, but what  Dara doesn’t have is a permanent home of her own, where she can share a bed with her human companions. If interested and sweet Dara, You will need to have patience and lots of love and you will get it in return tenfold. 2019 Dara is adorable, her favorite things to do are eating and playing. When she gets her toy, whether it is a small toy or pole toy she gets quite possessive and does not give it up easily. She has one broken pole toy with a rope material that is off. Dara grabs the stiff rope and runs in circles trying to catch the other end. Dara will be shy at first and maybe even hide, but once she is comfortable she loves to be loved and give love. She is good with other cats and gets along great with everyone. You can meet this wonderful kitty with an appointment as we don’t bring her on saturdays routinely. You can fill out an application for Dara at the Pembroke Pines Petsmart or go to www.adoptastray.ws/applications/ to fill out an application online or print and fax one to (954) 965-0406. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.!   We are now located in the very back of Petsmart. Follow the green tall flag signs to the back of the store on Saturdays.   Birthdate: Theodore (Teddy)   Teddy’s story as told by his foster mom:   It’s kind of hard to describe Teddy, because there are so many facets to his personality and his quirkiness. When I got Teddy, I was told he was a demon, a demon! Hardly! But I love a challenge and this is what Teddy is really like. He’s ultra sweet and wants to be loved desperately. My guess is the reason he is the way he is is that he did not receive attention from humans when he was very little. So he’s on the scared side and cats show their scaredy-catness by hissing. Cat people understand that hissing means I am afraid, are you going to hurt me, what are your intentions.    The first couple of days with Teddy consisted of him being in a large cage in my bedroom so that I can talk to him all the time and he would get to know me. On about the third or fourth day, while I was telling him how much I loved him and batting my eyes at him he started giving me loving eyes (his way of showing he was comfortable with me). Within the next few days he would come over to me and head butt my hand and then lick it. He would get up on his hammock and roll on his back, with his paws up in the air kneading constantly. I knew at this point this was no demon, this was a scared kitty who needed somebody to understand and love him. So Teddy moved out of the cage into a bedroom of his own. He may have been slightly happier in a cage because he saw somebody 24/7. After moving into his own room, he was scared the first couple of days and then before long, he was headbutting my feet, legs and hands, and playing with toys (he goes crazy for pole toys). He is desperate for love and attention and still trying to figure things out. He is so excited when he is headbutting me and licking me that he will nip my hands out of excitement. He never hurts me, he just doesn’t know how to show affection yet.    Teddy loves other cats. Probably does better with an adult or teenage cat. He can be a little rambunctious, but he is absolutely used to other cats and would do great with them. What we want for Teddy is a home that will give him time to adjust and follow slow steps in letting him be comfortable and let him get used to being loved. This is a kitty who is going to show you more love and attention, we need somebody who enjoys all his quirkiness and appreciates him for who he is.    March 2022 - Update   Teddy now lives in the foster mom’s home with her dogs and all of her cats. Teddy is confident, thinks that the dogs are play toys even though they are over 60 pounds. He is always bright eyed and happy. Teddy gets along with everybody, even if they are not nice to him, he just doesn’t know somebody’s not being nice and because he doesn’t react the other animal doesn’t react.  You can meet this wonderful kitty by appointment only.   You can fill out an application for Teddy at the Pembroke Pines Petsmart or go to www.adoptastray.ws/applications/ to fill out an application online or print and fax one to (954) 965-0406.
