Story
Age: 6.5 yearsAbout Me: Rusty is an incredibly sweet guy that is reported to do well with other cats. Due to some special needs, he will need to remain as an indoor only cat. Give us a call today at 719-395-2737 to learn more about Rusty! If interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website by following https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/. We recommend calling the shelter at 719-395-2737 after you submit your application to ensure that we have received it. You can also give us a call if you have any questions or would like to learn more about a specific animal. Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours Monday-Saturday 12-5pm, although an adoptable animal may be in a foster home instead of at the shelter, so we also recommend calling us prior to driving to the shelter to confirm the pet`s current location. If you prefer emailing instead, you can reach our staff at to info@ark-valley.org, however, time sensitive matters would be addressed quicker via phone.Note: We do not DNA test our animals to determine breeds. The listed breed(s) are either an educated guess from staff based on physical characteristics, or from information given by their previous home.

Story
Poor Kitten has had a tough life before showing up my doorstep. When she first appeared, she was malnourished and I noticed that she had one ear partially clipped. That is what they do with the TNR programs. She was VERY skittish and is to this day after living with me for five years. She had each ear infected and I was unable to crate her to take to the vets or even apply any medicine. Consequently, she suffered a pretty bad infection in both ears which are now deformed. I also think she lost most of her hearing. She is socialized to the point where she will allow a person to pet her, on her terms. I still can't pick her up, though. I pray someone will adopt this poor kitty - she has had such a tough go of things. I will donate the entire application fee to the charity of your choice.
