Story
Frankie has a resilience and zeal for life that will capture your heart. She is so much more than her origin story but to understand where she is today, we have to acknowledge how far she has come. Frankie was shot with a pellet gun and some of the pellet fragments were lodged into her spine. Despite great efforts and surgery, Frankie remains semi-paralyzed in her back legs. This does not slow Frankie down in the least! Wind up a toy and watch Frankie go go go! She zips around with the zoomies like any cat, and chases toys and shadows like a pro. Frankie likes to join her foster Mom on the couch or climb up into her cat tree. Frankie adores being a big/little foster sister to animals of all kinds and would do well in an active home. Nothing stops this adventurer! Except maybe bedtime with her person, she loves to share the bed or couch.    Caring for Frankie requires some experience with cats, or at least the willingness to learn! She will need to continue her low-level physical therapy routine which consists of relaxing and adorable leg massages. Frankie can't totally control when she goes to the bathroom due to her paralysis. To help with this, her bladder is expressed three times a day. Her future adopter will need to commit to properly caring for Frankie's needs while understanding they may change in the future. Frankie eats out of a slow feeder to help keep her weight at a healthy level, that we would also be happy to provide.  Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is currently in a foster home. To meet the cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Ginger was rescued along with her littermates from the Guadalupe River. She loves to be pet and is very playful. She takes her time learning to trust new people and places. Ginger might do best with a mellow male cat as a friend or as an only cat. She is vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. Ginger would do best with someone that is cat savvy and can be patient and understanding while she adjusts to a new home and person. Once she's comfortable, Ginger will be an affectionate friend.  Ginger is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, email us at courtesy@thedancingcat.org. Story
Bindi is a sweet girl with a beautiful gray marble tabby and white coat. She was rescued with her sisters from under a freeway overpass. Bindi is shy around new people at first, so she would do best with someone who is experienced with cat body language and behavior. Once she's comfortable and settled in she's a real love bug. She likes to play with toys and be pet, but prefers not to be picked up. She is laid back and would do well in a quiet home with no children, and someone who will give her a lot of love. She would also do best as an only cat. Bindi loves the catio her foster mom built! This allows her to enjoy the outdoors safely, while inside a large, enclosed area. s to be pet and play with toys. She's not outgoing with strangers. Once she's comfortable, she's mellow and likes to lay around a lot. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. This cat is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, email us at courtesy@thedancingcat.org.  November 6, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT TCRESCUE.COM/ADOPT Sapphire is a spayed young adult, female grey tabby born around 9/20/22.    She was born in a dumpster with two siblings, one was rescued by a neighbor, the other lived outside the dumpster but disappeared before the rescuer could catch her. Sapphire i s very friendly toward all cats and dogs, however due to her submissive and sweet nature, she is being picked on by some of her foster brothers and is now kept in a separate part of the foster home. Prior to this separation, she would sleep in the bed with her foster caretaker every night, and would snuggle with the other cats or the house dog. She is a very active kitty, she likes to be on the move, so it can be hard to catch a non-blurry photo of her!  She can be very spunky, and likes to be pet, particularly when she's sleepy, but she will run away if she's not feeling like being pet. Sapphire's face stripes give her a unique look like she has 1920's droopy eyeliner. She likes to play with little cat toys that are fuzzy, and she likes to shred paper and cardboard, so she'll definitely need a scratching post in her new home. She can be very playful when she is confident of her surroundings, and would do best in a home that has very polite cats or no cats. Of her foster siblings, if she were to be adopted as a pair, the best option would be Brumhilda, but Sapphire is completely fine going as a solo cat. She is completely comfortable around cat-savvy dogs. Sapphire would love a new home of her own where she can blossom into a confident, playful kitty once more!   She has been exposed to feline calicivirus and feline herpes and is likely a carrier for these feline viruses which are contagious to other cats so the best home for Sapphire will be a home with someone who understands the possibility that she could have "breakouts"- however, in the year she has been with her foster, she has shown no outward symptoms of having these viruses. Cats with feline herpes or calicivirus may exhibit symptoms or flareups ranging in severity, randomly or in times of stress throughout their life.  Learn why kittens in pairs are healthier and happier at: http://tcrescue.com/why2kittens Sapphire is being fostered in Gilroy.   Adoption fee of $65 covers deworming, rabies and two FVRCP vaccinations, microchip, and  spay surgery.   If Sapphire is adopted with one of her foster siblings, the total adoption fee is only $75 for the pair! Story
IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT TCRESCUE.COM/ADOPT IF YOU HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTINUE READING, I BET ALL YOUR QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED!  Brumhilda is a spayed young adult, grey tabby born around 9/20/22.    Brumhilda came from a dumpster as a kitten with her siblings, with a respiratory infection. She had to receive medicine daily for weeks, but despite this rough start she is sweet, spunky, and full of personality! Brumhilda is a small 6.5 pounds, but she makes up for it with a very emboldened attitude. She demands pets and snuggles when she hops on the bed with you, and demands you share a piece of that rotisserie chicken with her! You'll know she's being her confident self when she lets out her squeaky meows telling you she wants something. Brumhilda loves butt scratches, snuggling on the bed (and sleeping between your legs at night), rotisserie chicken for a special treat, and running away right as you're about to pet her only to come back for some ear scratches. She is super sweet and loves her treats! Brumhilda has very symmetrical but muted stripes, giving her the typical grey tabby look. She has very pretty green eyes and a perfect little pink nose. She likes to play with crinkly cat toys and also enjoys perching on the couch cushions. She can be very playful when she is confident of her surroundings, and would do best in a home with older children due to her size. Brumhilda would love to go to a home with one of her foster siblings, but would be fine as a solo cat as well. She is completely comfortable around cat-savvy dogs, and often snuggles with her foster home's dogs to get the best sleeping spot on the bed. She is extremely sweet and looks forward to finding her forever home!   She has been exposed to feline calicivirus and feline herpes and is likely a carrier for these feline viruses so the best home for Brumhilda will be with someone who understands the possibility that she could have "breakouts"- however, in the year she has been with her foster, she has shown no intrusive symptoms of the viruses. Brumhilda had a "leaky" right eye (meaning it will get a little gooey) for a few months at the start of her foster stay, but she has shown no symptoms in the last year. The foster's own cat was also tested for the viruses one year after they had lived together in the same household, and it came out negative. As long as vaccinations are up to date, there's a good chance Brumhilda can move into a household that already has resident cats, with no viral exchange. Cats with feline herpes or calicivirus may exhibit symptoms or flareups ranging in severity, randomly or in times of stress throughout their life.  Learn why kittens in pairs are healthier and happier at: http://tcrescue.com/why2kittens Brumhilda is being fostered in Gilroy.   Adoption fee of $50 covers deworming, first rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, microchip, and  spay surgery.   If Brumhilda is adopted with one of her foster siblings, the total adoption fee is only $65 for the pair! Story
My adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor!Asanaga come's with a 3 week trial adoption!Asanga is an incredibly sweet and affectionate kitty. She stayed in her carrier the first day that she was with me, but even then she was open to letting me pet her all over. In fact, she even rolled over on her back in the carrier so I could give her a tummy rub. Now she comes straight to me, lies down beside my leg, and enjoys being petted from head to tail, purring contentedly the whole time. She still loves her belly rubs and will often roll over to make sure I don't miss a spot. I can easily scoop her up, and she's perfectly content to settle into my arms, often resting her head on my arm and purring happily. After just a week, she gained the confidence to start exploring the bedroom whenever I let her. These days, she eagerly greets me at the door and can often be found lounging in the sunshine, soaking up the warmth. Her previous foster parent said that Asanga also enjoyed the company of other kitties. When it comes to food, Asanga is not picky. She does like to have company in the room when she gets her scoop of canned food in the morning and evening. She's especially fond of Churu treats, as well as Friskies and freeze-dried chicken treats. If I shake the treat can, she'll come running from wherever she is, ready for a snack.Asanga would thrive best in a peaceful home. Asanga shows her affection by lying down next to you to ask for pets, letting you know just how much she loves being close to you. Asanga can be quite the conversationalist, responding to your calls with adorable chirps and meows. This smart girl knows exactly what she wants-a quiet, safe place to lay her head. While Asanga may need slow introductions to new things, her sweet and loving nature makes every moment spent with her totally worth it!
