Story
Frankie has a resilience and zeal for life that will capture your heart. She is so much more than her origin story but to understand where she is today, we have to acknowledge how far she has come. Frankie was shot with a pellet gun and some of the pellet fragments were lodged into her spine. Despite great efforts and surgery, Frankie remains semi-paralyzed in her back legs. This does not slow Frankie down in the least! Wind up a toy and watch Frankie go go go! She zips around with the zoomies like any cat, and chases toys and shadows like a pro. Frankie likes to join her foster Mom on the couch or climb up into her cat tree. Frankie adores being a big/little foster sister to animals of all kinds and would do well in an active home. Nothing stops this adventurer! Except maybe bedtime with her person, she loves to share the bed or couch.    Caring for Frankie requires some experience with cats, or at least the willingness to learn! She will need to continue her low-level physical therapy routine which consists of relaxing and adorable leg massages. Frankie can't totally control when she goes to the bathroom due to her paralysis. To help with this, her bladder is expressed three times a day. Her future adopter will need to commit to properly caring for Frankie's needs while understanding they may change in the future. Frankie eats out of a slow feeder to help keep her weight at a healthy level, that we would also be happy to provide.  Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. This cat is currently in a foster home. To meet the cat, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Story
Ginger was rescued along with her littermates from the Guadalupe River. She loves to be pet and is very playful. She takes her time learning to trust new people and places. Ginger might do best with a mellow male cat as a friend or as an only cat. She is vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. Ginger would do best with someone that is cat savvy and can be patient and understanding while she adjusts to a new home and person. Once she's comfortable, Ginger will be an affectionate friend.  Ginger is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, email us at courtesy@thedancingcat.org. Story
Bindi is a sweet girl with a beautiful gray marble tabby and white coat. She was rescued with her sisters from under a freeway overpass. Bindi is shy around new people at first, so she would do best with someone who is experienced with cat body language and behavior. Once she's comfortable and settled in she's a real love bug. She likes to play with toys and be pet, but prefers not to be picked up. She is laid back and would do well in a quiet home with no children, and someone who will give her a lot of love. She would also do best as an only cat. Bindi loves the catio her foster mom built! This allows her to enjoy the outdoors safely, while inside a large, enclosed area. s to be pet and play with toys. She's not outgoing with strangers. Once she's comfortable, she's mellow and likes to lay around a lot. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and microchipped. This cat is being cared for by a member of the community.  To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, email us at courtesy@thedancingcat.org.  November 6, 2024, 10:11 am

Story
Affectionate Precious is ready for her forever home! Once she gets to know you, Precious appreciates having the choice to follow you room to room, sit next to you, or make biscuits on your lap. She loves being brushed and petted, eagerly accepts belly rubs, and she often chats with people, especially around mealtimes. She'll tap you very gently on the elbow if she'd like some head scratches. Content to curl up with you for most of the day if you work from home, she also loves making cameos on Zoom calls. She gets the zoomies for a few minutes in the evening and will have some fun chasing a wand toy. Precious prefers not to be held for long periods or restrained (aka hugged). She's very affectionate and will give you all the love you will ever need if you allow her to do so on her own terms. You’ll never feel lonely again with Precious by your side!  Precious has a condition called stomatitis, which is an auto-immune condition that causes chronic mouth and gum inflammation in cats. Despite the best medical care possible, our vets tell us that Precious is not cured.    We want her to live out her life surrounded by love, for however long that might be. We will help her adopter to learn the signs that indicate she's uncomfortable. This cat is in a foster home. Please fill out our online adoption application if interested in giving this sweet cat a home. www.thedancingcat.org/adopt    November 6, 2024, 10:11 am

Ava  was rescued with her brother when she was about three months. A va needs time to warm up and learn to trust people,  but she's a sweet little girl once she's comfortable. She lays next to her foster mom and likes to be pet. She sleeps on her foster mom's laptop as well as right next to her.  Ava  gets along well with other kitties and is very playful. She has a uniquely shaped ail, which she was born with. It bends, then curls at the end and it's cute to watch her wag it.  Ava  would do best with someone that is cat savvy or experienced with kitties.  Ava  is an energetic, playful, sweet girl who will make an entertaining friend for the someone. Story
IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT TCRESCUE.COM/ADOPT Sapphire is a spayed young adult, female grey tabby born around 9/20/22.    She was born in a dumpster with two siblings, one was rescued by a neighbor, the other lived outside the dumpster but disappeared before the rescuer could catch her. Sapphire i s very friendly toward all cats and dogs, however due to her submissive and sweet nature, she is being picked on by some of her foster brothers and is now kept in a separate part of the foster home. Prior to this separation, she would sleep in the bed with her foster caretaker every night, and would snuggle with the other cats or the house dog. She is a very active kitty, she likes to be on the move, so it can be hard to catch a non-blurry photo of her!  She can be very spunky, and likes to be pet, particularly when she's sleepy, but she will run away if she's not feeling like being pet. Sapphire's face stripes give her a unique look like she has 1920's droopy eyeliner. She likes to play with little cat toys that are fuzzy, and she likes to shred paper and cardboard, so she'll definitely need a scratching post in her new home. She can be very playful when she is confident of her surroundings, and would do best in a home that has very polite cats or no cats. Of her foster siblings, if she were to be adopted as a pair, the best option would be Brumhilda, but Sapphire is completely fine going as a solo cat. She is completely comfortable around cat-savvy dogs. Sapphire would love a new home of her own where she can blossom into a confident, playful kitty once more!   She has been exposed to feline calicivirus and feline herpes and is likely a carrier for these feline viruses which are contagious to other cats so the best home for Sapphire will be a home with someone who understands the possibility that she could have "breakouts"- however, in the year she has been with her foster, she has shown no outward symptoms of having these viruses. Cats with feline herpes or calicivirus may exhibit symptoms or flareups ranging in severity, randomly or in times of stress throughout their life.  Learn why kittens in pairs are healthier and happier at: http://tcrescue.com/why2kittens Sapphire is being fostered in Gilroy.   Adoption fee of $65 covers deworming, rabies and two FVRCP vaccinations, microchip, and  spay surgery.   If Sapphire is adopted with one of her foster siblings, the total adoption fee is only $75 for the pair! ADOPTION INQUIRIES SUBMITTED WITHOUT A COMPLETED APPLICATION FROM THE LINK ABOVE MAY NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. Tailchaser Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs from shelters where they are in danger. Our foster volunteers provide loving temporary homes for our rescued animals until they are adopted. By adopting a cat or dog, you're making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal, which can be up to 20 years or more! We are committed to placing our rescued animals with families who are prepared for the responsibility of owning an animal for its entire lifetime, so that they are never again at the mercy of the shelter system.  October 16, 2024, 1:18 pm

Hi there, I am looking for a job! I'm used to being an outdoor cat and I'm very good at rodent control and bug catching! I prefer not to interact with strangers initially, but luckily for me HSSV has a Garden Cat Adoption Program and is looking to find me a home or barn where we can live outside and be admired from afar. Story
Olive was adopted from a shelter in Chicago, where I used to live. She was an adult already. She has been taken to the vet and is very healthy, she is THE MOST loving cat, she loves affection, she loves to be held, she is such a sweet girl. However she isn’t fully house trained, specifically she urinates on things she’s not supposed to, like clothes left on the floor, cloth mats, and in the bathtub. She goes number 2 in her litter box. I’m looking for someone who has somewhere they can facilitate the urinating issue and give her the love and affection she deserves and needs.
