Philly Jenkins Rescue is a 501(c)(3) San Francisco-based Cat Rescue founded in 2024. It is dedicated to rescuing cats needing high-risk medical aid and helping cats facing euthanasia find loving homes. Philly Jenkins Rescue will provide a medical history; each adoption will include microchipping. All cats will undergo spaying or neutering before being placed in their new home. Cats that have not been spayed are available for pre-adoption. Email: PhillyJenkinsRescue@PhillyJenkinsRescue.Org Please include the Cat’s name in the subject line and your phone number.  Background - How did Philly Jenkins Rescue Rescue Dottie? A local woman from Turlock rescued Dottie and her two litter mates on the side of the road after her mother was hit by a vehicle and passed away at three weeks of age. Her litter mates were brought to the Stanislaus Animal Shelter in Modesto, California. Dottie was scheduled for euthanasia on 7/11/2024 but was rescued and transferred to Philly Jenkins Rescue by the Stanislaus Animal Shelter. Philly Jenkins Rescue is on a mission to save at-risk cats with high medical needs from euthanasia. Dottie, who, along with her litter mates, was rescued just two hours before they were scheduled to be euthanized. These adorable kittens suffered from an Upper Respiratory infection, were infested with fleas, and were underweight. Thanks to Philly Jenkins Rescue, they received the medical care they desperately needed and are now on their way to a full recovery. Meet Dottie, a ten-week-old ball of energy and sweetness!    October 22, 2024, 12:24 am

They are exclusively available to pre-approved adopters. Adoption Cost: $125 for Cats older than five months and $200 for Kittens younger than five months. Philly Jenkins Rescue charges an adoption fee for each cat, which helps to cover the costs of spay/neuter surgery, shots, microchipping, FeLV/FIV testing, and high-risk medical procedures before the cat is made available for adoption. Adoption Process: Philly Jenkins Rescue's adoption procedure is meticulously designed to facilitate an optimal pairing between felines and prospective adopters. Our primary objective is to provide a nurturing, secure, and enduring home environment. The adoption procedure includes the following: You must complete an application, interview one of our volunteers/board members, have a home inspection, and get written approval from your Landlord. Once we receive your application, our response time will be up to a week. Please be patient. Philly Jenkins Rescue expresses gratitude for the support and numerous applications received for our feline companions. It is important to note that our organization operates with the dedication of volunteers and regularly contends with a substantial volume of applications. Just to let you know, the processing of applications may require a timeframe of up to one week. Additionally, a cat for which an application has been submitted may be already in the process of being adopted. Once the process is finalized, we will share timely updates about adoptions on our Instagram and Facebook platforms. We appreciate your patience and understanding about this. We appreciate your interest and encourage you to check back often for updates on other animals available for adoption or additional opportunities to provide a loving home. Story
Betty is a sweet old lady around 11 or 12 years old. I rescued her from the SPCA almost two years ago but sadly need to rehome her because my living situation has changed its rules surrounding pets. She loves to nap and sun bathe. She’ll need some time to warm up to a new environment of course, but once she’s comfortable, she loves cuddles and catnip pillows and she’ll be the sweetest kitty to have around.

Story
Whiskers has the most gorgeous, long white whiskers and has wonderful eye contact. This little girl is an absolute delight, and truly an exceptional “people loving” cat. Did we mention she is an absolute delight...So much so, it deserves repeating! She is happy to see you and welcomes you in her sweet little voice, while rubbing against your legs, purring so adorably. She knows her name, and responds by coming to you when called. Whiskers loves to be petted and will look at you adoringly. She wants to be the only pet so she doesn’t have to share you. Her new home will be so happy to have her as a part of the family.

Story
Maurice’s adorable warm brown tabby markings compliment his mellow and fun loving personality. This soon to be large boy is 9 months old and loves to play! He is always devising games for himself and getting his sister and brother involved. And he has been very sweet and welcoming with cats outside his family. He dislikes the vacuum, but is mellow about most things. Maurice’s cutest trait is that when happy or excited, his tail comes all the way forward over his back like a lemur. This sweet guy would love to be placed with his sister and playmate, Mina. Please contact Rachel: s_garetz@yahoo.com

Story
This large, sweet, shy boy loves attention and pets, but initially is reserved about asking for them. Mouse is 9 months old, pure black with a faint light spot on his chest. He rewards attention with qui- et loyalty. A devout food lover, treats and second breakfast is the way to this boy’s heart. Like many humans, loud noises and sudden movements are tougher for him to process, so he would do best in a quieter home. Cutest moments: jumping up on his hind legs to ask for head rubs. Story
Jimmy is a 2 yr old male buff and white tabby. He is super sweet and loving, rubbing against your hands, and if you take them away he reaches his paw out for more. He LOVES face scratches and his wet food. And boy, does he love a good butt scratch, lifting his butt up high in enjoyment! Jimmy is the purr-fect cat, as he is very easy going once he's comfortable with new people and surroundings. He enjoys wrestling and chasing string toys with his foster siblings. After play time, Jimmy will groom his foster brother, Elliot, and then seek out his person for cuddles and snuggles. Jimmy does well playing with everyone, but he needs to be in a calm home with another cat. He will need some patience as it may take a little time for him to get totally comfortable in a new home. But his cuddles are well worth the wait! His foster home has both older and younger cats, including foster siblings Eevie, Elliot, and Amazon Prime. Jimmy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and negative for FIV/FeLV. To adopt Jimmy, please request an application at esvhadopt@gmail.com

Story
Allie is the cuddliest cat I've known in 30+ years of living with them. Lie down on the couch and in no time you'll find her at your belly being your little spoon. Allie is well-disciplined and never jumps on tables or countertops. She is incredibly comfortable with company - at house parties with 40+ people, you'll see her rubbing up against ankles and getting all the pets and attention she can get. She freakishly enjoys fairly rough petting, and she's almost dog-like in that manner. Tug her ear, cradle her like a baby, ruffle her scruff and chungles - she'll take it all happily. This made her particularly tolerant of our toddler. We are rehoming because with our toddler we simply aren't able to pay the same attention to the kitty as before. We also travel between SF and Seattle often for family, and constantly relocating is tough on a kitty. https://phs-spca.org/adopt/cats/#action_0=pet&animalID_0=20701235&petIndex_0=18

Story
Looking for a new home for two sweet 8-month-old female cats! One is a bit shy but loves gentle affection, while her sister is very playful and full of energy. Both of them are super friendly, great with humans, and love attention. They also enjoy treats like chicken and cat puree. They’re well bonded, so it would be great if they could be adopted together, but adopting them separately is fine too. I’m happy to include their cat tree, toys, food dispenser, food/treats, and water fountain to help them settle in. I’ve realized that my current home and lifestyle aren’t the best fit for them, but I know they’d thrive in the right environment. If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to reach out! Adoption process is simple—just pickup, and I’ll send the paperwork. Thank you!
