Story
He’s two paws up! Meow! My name is Bandit, and I’m a 1.5-year-old Domestic Shorthair Tuxedo kitty, weighing in at 11 pounds.  I’ve already been neutered, I’m litter box-trained, and my health is in purrfect shape.  My journey began when I was adopted from SDHS as a kitten.  I then went on to live in an apartment with my owner who sadly passed away.  While growing up, it appears I was exposed to doggies, so I’m generally a fan of all animals.  However, I wasn’t handled too much so I don’t like being picked up. I’m a super sweet guy, with a soft, shiny coat.   I make cute-sounding mews and love everyone I meet.  I’m young, playful, and adaptable to new people and environments.  I’m a skilled jumper and like to check out all counters, tables, and shelves that are accessible.  My favorite activities include watching birds outside and playing with my toys.  When I get bored, I also like to open cabinet doors to see what’s behind them! I’d do best with a furry sibling – either a friendly kitty or doggie I could play with.  But, I’d also do just fine as the solo pet in the home, too, just as long as I got plenty of attention from my humans! Kiddos are A-OK with me, but I’d prefer older ones since they can better respect my boundaries.  Other than that, I’m an indoors-only kitty, so I’d appreciate an owner/family who would be diligent in closing doors and windows behind them. My adoption fee is $75 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. ##2117555##

Story
Baffy is very independent. She goes by a strict schedule. She knows when she is to be fed but she can’t have food out at all times. She’s very playful and enjoys her toys even if they aren’t toys. She is 6 years old and acts lazy most of the time but will have her zoomies. She is fine with my small Scottish terrier but with my larger dog, she hides all day long. I want to give her a home that she can be herself. I’ve had her for almost a year and she has not got along with my dog.

Story
I adopted Dash From the humane society when he was 10 weeks old. He is now 1 year old. He is a great cat and I hate to give him away. I just have a short space and I have a baby on the way and don't have much time to play with him. He loves to play. He also is bath friendly so bathing him is not an issue. I would love to give him to nice home where he has a lot of room to roam and a great family. I will give litter box and food at no cost.

Story
Stormi is a very special girl. She is beautiful, smart, loving, confident, and head strong. She loves being around people and lounging around the house with you. On a lazy day you will find her curled up on your lap or passed out on her cat tree. She can also be a little temperamental and would do best with someone who understands cat body language and can respect her boundaries. We would be happy to discuss this with you in detail but an experienced cat owner would be best for this girl. When Stormi's body language and cues are observed and respected she does very well and can be a great companion. She tends to be happiest in larger spaces so she can retreat to her own area when she's feeling overstimulated. She would also benefit from some outdoor access (if this can be done in a safe way). This special girl has been through a lot and deserves a chance at a forever home. Please reach out if you are interested in learning more about her.

Story
Loveable Orange is 5 years old and looking for love. He has a lot of conditions for his care so the chance of finding him the right home is slim, but we have to try. He is just too sweet to be living in a cage. He deserves to be a housecat. We will be lucky if we can just find a homeowner who lives nearby and isn't going to panic if cat urine happens outside the box. Cat spraying is something that can be resolved with patience. That said, frequent vet visits may be required to rule out health issues with any cat who urinates outside the box. It's more work, but we can promise you Orange is worth it. He's exceptionally loving. Orange had been a gentle roommate to our 20-year-old resident cats but had to move into a cage because he started spraying when some of the younger cats picked on him. He's content to spend most of the day and night in a cage, but we don't like to see him living his life in there and not getting the pets and lap-time he deserves. [UPDATE: he's getting out of the cage more often and enjoying the "first shift" and "last shift" in the big yard with his best feline friend, Boots. His situation is no longer desperate. He could live out the rest of his life here and be happy. We still want to consider a better situation, but he's got a pretty good life now and he and Boots are so bonded, we'd hate to separate them.] We named this cutie "Orange Chicken", because he isn't very brave. He runs from confrontation and cries like he's being murdered at the slightest threat of aggression. Because he's so confrontation-averse, we have to force him to go out in the yard to stretch his legs and we have to remove most of the other cats. Thankfully he has a few feline friends he isn't afraid of and he likes the dogs. Did we mention he's a BIG chicken? At 14lbs, he could stand to be more bold, but it isn't his nature. He is a gentle soul. Orange likes the company of gentle cats but that doesn't mean he won't spray around them. He will not like losing his home and his friendships with the dogs and passive cats he's grown to love only to find himself in a situation where he still feels threatened by other cats. We won't do that to him. He will have to decide if a new home is the right home for him and we have to know he will be returned to us if he exhibits stressed out behavior. Orange loves adult people. If we look at him, he start purring loudly in anticipation of pets. While he loves being around people, he's afraid of kids and loud people/noises. Requirements for his health: 3 Luckydog-approved raw meals per day detoxification supplements added to each meal raw meaty bones (fed with supervision 3-7 times/wk) to keep his teeth clean lots of love very clean house with no clutter (pee is hard to find and clean when there is clutter) fragrance-free environment (any chemicals like bleach should also be avoided) daily brushing Special care at meal times. We think he has megaesophagus, but he's been doing well with treatment. He got very sick after being vaccinated, so he cannot be vaccinated again. He will have to remain on our immune-supportive diet and supplements to help ensure a healthy life without further vaccination. Because his health is at risk, he will be placed as a long-term foster or co-owned kitty so we can be sure his health insurance remains in effect and he gets the care he needs for life. We need to run this by his insurance to make sure we do everything by the book since he has existing conditoins which woulld not be covered by a new policy. If you were planning to raise a cat holistically, and you already live fragrance-free, you would likely be able to add him to your life without much trouble. We realize meeting his conditions is a lot to ask of any adopter so he will likely be with us for life. We just want to put it out there in case the perfect situation arises and it makes sense to move him. We know it is a long shot but we wanted to give Orange a chance to have more attention. Thanks for rescuing!

Story
Wasabi is a 7 year old cat that came into our care after her previous owner threatened to euthanize her because they did not want to pay for her medical care. Wasabi is far from spicy - she is one of the most affectionate cats we have seen! She came to us with a superficial mass on her neck that was scratched open. A simple procedure removed the mass and she is back to 100%! She would do great in a home where someone is there to give her all the love she deserves.September 10, 2024, 12:17 am

Story
Belinda is a very sweet, misunderstood biscuit-making lover who is easily spooked by loud noises (then comes immediately back). She has had all of her teeth removed due to stomatitis, but still eats everything put in front of her, hard or soft. She loves food, and snuggling with other cats! Because she can be shy with loud noises and lots of commotion, she would do best in a home with no young kids.
