Story
I am fostering Pony (male) as his original owner (family member) moved across country. He is SUPER friendly, sweet, affectionate, loves to play and likes a human friend or a mellow dog or cat?? ***He is ready to fly into your heart giving you lots of cuddles and attention. P/T play enthusiast and a full-time heart melter*** If you are ready to smile everyday Pony is the one! On arrival here in his foster home he was very scared, and it took patience to get him to feel confident. (previous cat skills is a plus) We have all supplies, even an automatic water feeder. He is about two years old, chipped and neutered. (I don't want to put him in a shelter as this would scare him and his true loving personality wouldn't be seen).

Story
Best Match:   Seeking an adopter with moderate cat experience Will be most comfortable with an adult only home Bonded Pair Ok with other cats Both need an inhaler Needs to be indoor only   Step aside, Batman and Robin. See you later, peanut butter and jelly. It’s time to meet the latest and greatest dynamic duo – Thunder and Broccoli! These quirky tabby boys are ready to fill your home with love, cuddles, and entertaining antics.   Thunder is a big boy with an even bigger personality. Friendly, affectionate, and confident, this lovebug craves attention and wants to be up close and personal with his people. He is a major lap cat, and his foster reports that he “sometimes sleeps in my arms with his paws wrapped around my neck and kisses my face.”  He eagerly approaches new people and makes a beeline for any item that catches his eye. He happily chats away with people and cats alike, and loves a good snooze in a sunny window. He also likes to let you know when he is done being pet or needs to play -- so knowing to watch body language is key.    Broccoli (the all brown tabby) is Mr. Popularity, the rare cat who gets along with everybody. He is friendly with other cats and people – to Broccoli, people just seem like oversized cats he can befriend. He also loves to play. Wand toys and balls are his favorite and he is an avid hunter of bugs. With intense focus, he will stalk a stray fly around the house for hours. It may sound surprising, but Broccoli’s favorite time of day is when he takes his inhaler! The churu probably has something to do with that, and this makes his asthma incredibly easy to manage.    Broccoli is described by his foster as “super soft and pure love.” Thunder entertains everyone with his funny, loud meow that sounds like a cartoon character, his snoring, and his many silly sleeping positions. These buddies share tons of snuggling,  grooming, and playtime. It doesn’t get better than that.   Thunder and Broccoli would do best with an easygoing, cat-savvy adopter in an adults-only home with no children. They would be happy to have other cats around as well.    Could you be the perfect match for this fun and funny duo? Thunder and Broccoli are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV. Thunder has tested positive for FIV. Story
Best Match: Seeking an adopter with some cat experience Could join a calm home with older kids and teens May be okay with other cats Needs to be indoor only   Spirit is a sweet, gentle soul with the prettiest blue eyes. She’s a mellow cat who still enjoys a good play session. She particularly likes chasing after wand toys and sometimes will even stand up on her hind legs as she pursues it! When left to her own devices, she’s also content with solo play, like spending time with her scratching post or lounging in a cardboard scratch bed.   Her foster notes that while she was initially shy, Spirit’s affectionate side has blossomed with time, and they see more and more of it each day. Spirit may not be a lap cat, but once you’ve earned her trust, she loves to cuddle up next to you and purr contentedly. She’ll even give you a gentle nudge to let you know when you need to be petting her.   When first introduced to a new space, Spirit can be timid, and she still startles at sudden, loud noises. In her foster home, she seems interested in the resident cats and she may do well with other cats given the right introduction. Having a cat friend may help Spirit come out of her shell even more. Ideally, Spirit’s adopter will have experience working with more reserved cats and can patiently help her thrive in a new environment. She could do well in a home with older kids, particularly ones who lived with a cat before.   One of Spirit’s favorite activities is to sit up high on a perch near a window and look out, keeping a close eye on the world outside. She takes her job as the neighborhood watch very seriously! While she’s not particularly food-motivated, it could be that her favorite foods and treats haven’t yet been discovered, which could be a fun activity for her adopter. There are so many things to try!   Spirit is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form!  November 10, 2024, 7:06 pm

Story
Best Match: Seeking an adopter with some experience Will be most comfortable in a quiet home with adult guardians (calm/quiet kids over 12 may be ok) Prefers to be in a home without dogs Bonded pair May be okay with other cats (would need careful matchmaking & slow introductions) Needs to be indoor only Mars and Pluto are the very best of friends. They do everything together! They spend the day playing and wrestling together. They groom each other. They eat, sleep, and they’re even happy to share a food bowl, a comfy bed, their favorite spots, and your attention. The only thing they don’t love sharing is treats! It can take a little while for Mars and Pluto to trust new people, and the pair might hide while they’re getting used to new surroundings. Over time, you’ll see them blossom. Brown tabby Mars, with his round cheeks, expressive eyes, and adorable ear tufts will sometimes roll on the floor to greet his fosters now that he’s gotten comfortable. He even approaches them for pets and head bumps. Sleek orange tabby boy Pluto can be a little more shy, but his confidence has been growing by leaps and bounds, and he now enjoys an occasional nap on his foster’s lap. Mars and Pluto are looking for a quiet home with someone who has the patience to let them adjust and explore at their own pace. Earning their trust may take some time, but it is so worth it. And the great thing is, they’ll be there to love and support each other every step of the way. Mars and Pluto are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:25Stella and Luna are a pair of adorable besties. Luna is 7 months old and solid black. Stella is a 5-month-old brown tabby. Stella is the more outgoing of the two and is not shy about coming right up to greet you. She is very energetic and wants to be in the middle of everything. Luna is more reserved and prefers to stay in the background. She is happy to lay in her hammock and watch the world go by. Both cats love being pet, will lean into your hand and purr loudly. The cats enjoy playing with the wand toy, with Stella grabbing it fiercely and trying to pull it out of your hand and Luna gently batting it around. Both cats love treats and this is one time when Luna won't take a backseat, sometimes pushing Stella away to get treats that are rightfully hers. Story
This is Mulberry. She's incredibly cute, cuddly, gentle, and just a little chatty. It would be a dream to keep her, but the cost of her care is well out of my budget. Ideally, I would keep her and receive financial support for her care. Or, if a forever home presents itself, I'd give her up for the perfect place. She's had some issues with seizures, and I'm investigating the cause, but can't afford more vet bills. I began fostering Mulberry as a favor for a neighbor; I later learned the cat had been "left" to me. The former owner wants to wash her hands of the cat--and the last thing I want to do is put her in a shelter; she deserves so much better than that. She's around 4-5 and thrives as an only cat. She's litterbox trained and loves to play. When I wake up, she's usually curled up on the covers, looking like a little ball of fluff. She'll greet you at the door and crawl into your lap for all the snuggles. Please reach out if you or someone you know might be her forever home.

Little SloeBerry is a beautiful and sweet 4 1/2 yr old kitty. She lost her home and her person after a house fire and is looking for her special emotional support human. She loves to cuddle and play and enjoys sunspots and windows to watch the birds. She is a bit shy to warm up to people and to get picked up, but once she does warm up to you she is sweetly demanding and a lap or lap adjacent kitty. She adjusts well to regular routines.

Story
Tiny Bean & Little Socks are bonded siblings. Tiny Bean is the sweetest girl and a little purr machine who loves to be in the middle of things while Little Socks is still a cautious boy who likes to take his time and observe. Both kittens were born outside in a litter of three and have adjusted rather well to living in a home. They are about 4,5 months old and have excellent litter box manners. Tiny Bean and Little Socks are both fixed, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and vaccinated. They are currently indoor-only and love food, toys and pets, just like any other cat. Looking for a quiet home with patient humans who will understand their situation and that it might take some time for them to build trust with their forever person. Please reach out if you are interested in adopting them and would like to know more.
