I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:18Meet Posey and Bochy, a pair of sweet, bonded brothers. Together, they make the ultimate team of two! These 6-month-old boys may take a moment to step up to the plate, but once they warm up, they're all in with purrs and gentle head bonks. Like their namesakes, Posey is the "catcher" of attention, always quick to settle in for pets, while Bochy is the "manager" who wants in on the action, too. Their bond is as strong as a double-play duo, supporting each other in every inning of life. Stop by during adoption hours and meet these two sweethearts!    November 14, 2024, 5:45 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:25Stella and Luna are a pair of adorable besties. Luna is 7 months old and solid black. Stella is a 5-month-old brown tabby. Stella is the more outgoing of the two and is not shy about coming right up to greet you. She is very energetic and wants to be in the middle of everything. Luna is more reserved and prefers to stay in the background. She is happy to lay in her hammock and watch the world go by. Both cats love being pet, will lean into your hand and purr loudly. The cats enjoy playing with the wand toy, with Stella grabbing it fiercely and trying to pull it out of your hand and Luna gently batting it around. Both cats love treats and this is one time when Luna won't take a backseat, sometimes pushing Stella away to get treats that are rightfully hers. Stella and Luna are an entertaining pair of kitties who will enliven any home and do well in active household.  November 19, 2024, 7:49 pm

Story
Notes from the foster:I have had `Fraidy` since Dec 1, and she is SLOWLY opening up! She still hides under the bed a lot, but always comes out to eat in the kitchen, scurries past me, and sometimes I find her in the living room when I wake up. She doesn`t come up onto your lap by choice, but does meow like she WANTS to (but isn`t quite there with the full trust yet)!Every night she comes up onto my bed while I am laying down in the dark, and gives a cute `meow!` and allows me to scratch her chin, body, pet her, but keeps just the right amount of distance to be able to bolt in case a fast move or sound frightens her. She is slowly gaining trust! I have hope she will get better at it. She is afraid of toys, and does not come to a call, but she played on a handmade cat mat that is infused with catnip the past few days, and she likes to jump up on my window sill behind the curtain. She doesnt allow me to pick her up, or cuddle, but she sleeps next to me on the bed in her little bed. So it is getting better!

Story
Are you an independent person? If so you will likely understand an independent cat. Pip is your girl. She is smart, independent, and sensitive. Sound like you? You might be a great match for this adorable, furry soul. Respect one another, allow space, and connect when it's mutual and you will be on good terms with her. Pip will seek out a pet every now and then on her terms. She wants her alone time and doesn't want to be stressed by too much activity or noise. She is fostered with other pets and it's a bit much for her. She will probably do best as a solo pet. Pip needs to be respected and honored in terms of her wishes for closeness—or not. She is happiest when in charge of her destiny. She enjoys playing. Pip seeks out affection and purrs contentedly when held after a nap, but on her terms and she'll let you know when she is done. Her gentle hiss is not mean way, it's how she communicates. She is fairly accepting of strangers and will probably connect to a new family quickly if you are patient and savvy to her. Pip is a great cat but needs to be honored and cherished as an independent creature. We estimate Pip was born on September 1, 2023. Kitty Bio #348LRa-Pi.   If you're interested in adopting this or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at http://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.October 26, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
Davis is an active kitten who loves to explore new things. This strong and healthy kitten loves to run, wrestle, and nestle. He enjoys belly rubs and lots of kisses. He loves attention and being touched. When not lounging around or playing he likes to show off his kitten physique with many adorable stretches and poses. Davis is fine with strangers and warms up quickly when you help him play with his toys. He requires another cat or kitten to keep him company in his forever home. His brother Kris would be a good match. He would also be good around children over 10, and maybe even a gentle cat-friendly dog. Estimated birth date is mid-April 2024. Kitty Bio #1123DJ-Da. Story
Sylvie is a happy little kitty who brings much joy to her foster family. She loves her people and enjoys snuggling with her humans at any opportunity. Sylvie is very curious and playful. She loves to play with her kitty toys and, while she makes herself scarce when strangers come over, she may just come out if the stranger wants to pet her or play with her.   Sylvie would do well in a calm home with at least one human that is around most of the time. She would also do well with another kitty to play with. Her handsome brother is Bobby and would be a good match. We estimate she was born in early April of 2024. Kitty Bio #10977CM-Sy. Story
This is Mulberry. She's incredibly cute, cuddly, gentle, and just a little chatty. It would be a dream to keep her, but the cost of her care is well out of my budget. Ideally, I would keep her and receive financial support for her care. Or, if a forever home presents itself, I'd give her up for the perfect place. She's had some issues with seizures, and I'm investigating the cause, but can't afford more vet bills. I began fostering Mulberry as a favor for a neighbor; I later learned the cat had been "left" to me. The former owner wants to wash her hands of the cat--and the last thing I want to do is put her in a shelter; she deserves so much better than that. She's around 4-5 and thrives as an only cat. She's litterbox trained and loves to play. When I wake up, she's usually curled up on the covers, looking like a little ball of fluff. She'll greet you at the door and crawl into your lap for all the snuggles. Please reach out if you or someone you know might be her forever home.

Story
Little SloeBerry is a beautiful and sweet 4 1/2 yr old kitty. She lost her home and her person after a house fire and is looking for her special emotional support human. She loves to cuddle and play and enjoys sunspots and windows to watch the birds. She is a bit shy to warm up to people and to get picked up, but once she does warm up to you she is sweetly demanding and a lap or lap adjacent kitty. She adjusts well to regular routines.

Story
Tiny Bean & Little Socks are bonded siblings. Tiny Bean is the sweetest girl and a little purr machine who loves to be in the middle of things while Little Socks is still a cautious boy who likes to take his time and observe. Both kittens were born outside in a litter of three and have adjusted rather well to living in a home. They are about 4,5 months old and have excellent litter box manners. Tiny Bean and Little Socks are both fixed, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and vaccinated. They are currently indoor-only and love food, toys and pets, just like any other cat. Looking for a quiet home with patient humans who will understand their situation and that it might take some time for them to build trust with their forever person. Please reach out if you are interested in adopting them and would like to know more.
