Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Cat Adoption:50 Dandelion & Rue started out as scared, hissy kittens who hadn’t really been around people. In their foster home, they learned that humans come bearing yummy food and treats, pets feel nice, and playing is super fun! Now these goofy girls are eager for attention, quickly turning on their purr motors with pets. And they love meat tubes like Churu and chasing after the wand toy! Sweet and playful Rue and Dandelion are ready for a loving forever home. Could it be with you?      November 1, 2024, 8:40 pm

Story
Notes from the foster:I have had `Fraidy` since Dec 1, and she is SLOWLY opening up! She still hides under the bed a lot, but always comes out to eat in the kitchen, scurries past me, and sometimes I find her in the living room when I wake up. She doesn`t come up onto your lap by choice, but does meow like she WANTS to (but isn`t quite there with the full trust yet)!Every night she comes up onto my bed while I am laying down in the dark, and gives a cute `meow!` and allows me to scratch her chin, body, pet her, but keeps just the right amount of distance to be able to bolt in case a fast move or sound frightens her. She is slowly gaining trust! I have hope she will get better at it. She is afraid of toys, and does not come to a call, but she played on a handmade cat mat that is infused with catnip the past few days, and she likes to jump up on my window sill behind the curtain. She doesnt allow me to pick her up, or cuddle, but she sleeps next to me on the bed in her little bed. So it is getting better!

Story
Are you an independent person? If so you will likely understand an independent cat. Pip is your girl. She is smart, independent, and sensitive. Sound like you? You might be a great match for this adorable, furry soul. Respect one another, allow space, and connect when it's mutual and you will be on good terms with her. Pip will seek out a pet every now and then on her terms. She wants her alone time and doesn't want to be stressed by too much activity or noise. She is fostered with other pets and it's a bit much for her. She will probably do best as a solo pet. Pip needs to be respected and honored in terms of her wishes for closeness—or not. She is happiest when in charge of her destiny. She enjoys playing. Pip seeks out affection and purrs contentedly when held after a nap, but on her terms and she'll let you know when she is done. Her gentle hiss is not mean way, it's how she communicates. She is fairly accepting of strangers and will probably connect to a new family quickly if you are patient and savvy to her. Pip is a great cat but needs to be honored and cherished as an independent creature. We estimate Pip was born on September 1, 2023. Kitty Bio #348LRa-Pi.   If you're interested in adopting this or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at http://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.October 26, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
Davis is an active kitten who loves to explore new things. This strong and healthy kitten loves to run, wrestle, and nestle. He enjoys belly rubs and lots of kisses. He loves attention and being touched. When not lounging around or playing he likes to show off his kitten physique with many adorable stretches and poses. Davis is fine with strangers and warms up quickly when you help him play with his toys. He requires another cat or kitten to keep him company in his forever home. His brother Kris would be a good match. He would also be good around children over 10, and maybe even a gentle cat-friendly dog. Estimated birth date is mid-April 2024. Kitty Bio #1123DJ-Da. Story
Clementine is a very sweet girl who lives for attention and snuggles. This little girl will start purring as soon as she sees you and won't stop, even when she's deep asleep. Clementine seeks love above all else, even food. She will remain by your side, searching for scratches at all times except for when the feather toy comes out. This agile little girl will fly through the room chasing the feather toy for as long as you are willing to play. Don't miss out on welcoming the sweet and beautiful little girl into your home. Clementine will do well in a more quiet home with gentle children over age 10. She needs a cat in her life and home. Her brother Bobby would be a good pal or sister, Sylvie . Her estimated date of birth is April 2, 2024. Kitty Bio #10977CM-Cl.   If you're interested in adopting this or another of our cats, please fill out our adoption questionnaire at https://icraeastbay.org/adopt/how-to/.October 26, 2024, 8:31 am

Story
Meet Luci, a beautiful 2-year-old short-haired grey tabby with mesmerizing big blue eyes. She came to me after being found on the street and has spent the last six months being an amazing mother to her two kittens. Now that they’ve found their homes, it's her turn! She’s a curious sweetheart who loves pets and chasing toys on a string, and she’s been wonderfully well-behaved. She’s litter box trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccinations. While she can be mildly skittish at times, she's surprisingly good with guests and doesn’t shy away from new people. Although she’s been an indoor cat since I started fostering her, I suspect she’d thrive as an indoor/outdoor cat in the right environment—my space just isn’t ideal for it. If you’re looking for a adorable, curious, and playful companion, this lovely lady could be the perfect fit! A small rehoming fee of $150 applies to help ensure she goes to a good home.

Story
This is Mulberry. She's incredibly cute, cuddly, gentle, and just a little chatty. It would be a dream to keep her, but the cost of her care is well out of my budget. Ideally, I would keep her and receive financial support for her care. Or, if a forever home presents itself, I'd give her up for the perfect place. She's had some issues with seizures, and I'm investigating the cause, but can't afford more vet bills. I began fostering Mulberry as a favor for a neighbor; I later learned the cat had been "left" to me. The former owner wants to wash her hands of the cat--and the last thing I want to do is put her in a shelter; she deserves so much better than that. She's around 4-5 and thrives as an only cat. She's litterbox trained and loves to play. When I wake up, she's usually curled up on the covers, looking like a little ball of fluff. She'll greet you at the door and crawl into your lap for all the snuggles. Please reach out if you or someone you know might be her forever home.

Story
Shady is a 3 year old lover at heart. He takes a little while to warm up to you, hence the name Shady but once he does, he’ll be your little stalker. He likes to play, gets the zoomies, and will cuddle with you or Thunder, his adopted brother. They are a duo and cannot be separated. Shady is a fully indoor cat. They will come with food, toys, cat litter boxes, a carrier, and I’d love to cat sit and visit so I can still see them sometimes.
