Story
Sunshine is pretty special ed. 😁 He was a previously TNR'd colony cat from La Puente. He disappeared for two years and then showed up again near a colony close by. He had been thrown in the trash. He was hardly moving and he was completely jaundiced from gosh knows what. He was so weak that he needed an esophageal feeding tube to deliver nutrients to him while he gained strength. Cats are abused and treated like garbage around those parts and it is no wonder how he is able to trust people at all. This guy was different. Even in his dying stages he wanted to be petted on his head So weak, but able to lift his head for headbutts. He deserved a chance. He was resilient and although his recovery was long it was completely worth it. He's an indoor boy. Enjoys his toys like a kitten (probably because it is the first time in his life that he can play with toys). He has slowly been gaining trust and would love an opportunity to have an owner. While he is not a cat that will cuddle with you in bed, he has gotten the courage to sit with you on the couch to get petted. He's very silly, pretends he's feral sometimes, and probably a little retarded. He can't help the circumstances he was forced to live. We want better for him. He is a unique young man who would love to be someone's companion. Sunshine is being adopted through the San Gabriel Valley Animal Advocates. If you are interested in adopting Sunshine, please submit an application at http://www.sgvaa.org/pre-adoption-questionnaire.html and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Story
This solid little powerhouse will delight you in no time. She purposefully makes her way to where the action is and wants to always know what's going on with everybody in the room. She doesn't mind petting and affection after she learns to trust you, but would much prefer to be a part of things than just sit there getting petted. Small in size, Willow has plenty of confidence and she likes to get warm under the blankets. Being so curious, we're guessing she'd prefer a home with another animal, but humans may be all she needs. Please submit an application to adopt Willow on our website at www.aaloc.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Willow and get to know her a bit. Donation of $100 for cat adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on adoption policies visit our cat adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Story
Jasmine, a mackerel tabby with beautiful grey eyes, arrived at AALOC when her owner decided she couldn’t care for her anymore and left Jasmine on the porch. Jasmine is a bit timid when meeting new people but likes to cuddle and play once she gets to know you a bit. Overall Jasmine has a very sweet personality. Jasmine has a condition called nystagmus which causes her eyes to move back and forth involuntarily. This may have been the result of trauma before she arrived at AALOC. It does not require any medication but regular check-ups with your vet would be recommended for Jasmine. Please submit an application to adopt Jasmine on our website at www.aaloc.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Jasmine and get to know her a bit. Story
Charlie was hit by a car and permanently injured one of his front paws. Fortunately that doesn’t stop this sweet mackerel tabby cat from getting around and living a normal cat life. Charlie can even climb to the top of cat trees and cages. He may be a little slower than a fully functioning four-legged cat but he is very resourceful and determined. Charlie has also recently been diagnosed with diabetes which is manageable just like it is in humans. But because Charlie requires insulin as a maintenance medication and regular vet visits to ensure he stays on a good health path we are looking for someone who can care for Charlie as a permanent foster. This means AALOC will pay all the medical expenses for Charlie but he will live with you as your own cat. Charlie is a bit shy at first but like most mackerel tabbies once he warms up he is a very affectionate feline. He likes being held and is pretty good at sitting on your lap or just reclining next to you on the couch. Mackerel tabbies are known to be very curious and intelligent and overall a very friendly and loyal pet. Charlie would make a great best friend. Please submit an application to permanently foster or adopt Charlie at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Charlie during visiting hours (10am to 3pm daily) and get to know him a bit. For more information on AALOC’s foster programs policies please visit our website at www.aaloc.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org, or by phone (714)893-4393. Scarlett is a darling little girl! She is a very shy at first; she takes time to warm up to strangers but then loves all the attention you can provide. Story
This little girl is looking for a forever home but it will take just the right human to understand her needs. Taylor is very shy and patience will be necessary in order to provide this sweet cat the time necessary to become accustomed to a new home, a new routine and a new owner without any other pets. Because of this we feel Taylor would fit best in a quiet, adult-only home. Ultimately though Taylor will make it all worthwhile – we know she has the potential to become a wonderful pet and companion. Bags is an 11 yr old male cat who has lived in WI, FL, and CA. He has lived his best life in Huntington Beach and we are moving to a rental that does not accept pets so we need to find a new home for him. He is an indoor/outdoor cat - likes to lounge outside during the day. He has claws but we have never had any issues with them. We have a 21 month old who lays on him and is not very gentle with him and he is so sweet to him. He follows up when we go for walks in the neighborhood and acts like a big brother. Bags is the sweetest cat and has a personality that you’ll love immediately!
