Story
Midnight is a shy and mysterious mini panther beauty. She loves to climb in high or hidden places, and lives for dinner time, treat time, second dinner time, catnip time, and string toy time! Midnight knows what she wants and has a distinct and unforgettable meow, which she will use to tell you all of her thoughts on the speed her food is being delivered (hint: not fast enough). Never fully growing to trust people after a difficult early life, Midnight has spent a lot of her life in the shelter and gets along great with other cats. It would warm our hearts to find Midnight her very own forever home to retire in, with a loving and patient human family who let her be her shy self.

Story
Fisher is a disco party dressed up as a sweet black cat, and he’s looking for a fun human to keep up with him. If he isn’t running on the cat wheel, you may find him with all four paws in the air wiggling about in a pile of catnip, climbing, carefully watching the neighborhood from the window, or figuring out how to get treats. Most homes would work well for Fisher, and he would work especially well with other cats as he is a gentle and respectful boy who is just here to have a good time. He is a big, light-hearted goofball – if you’re a fun and loving human prepared to keep an endless supply of catnip in your home pantry (and possibly a cat-sized hamster wheel) Fisher wants to meet you!

Story
Lucky & Tommy are a bonded pair of large, beautiful tuxedo-wearing siblings (Lucky in the black, Tommy in the Gray) with special needs who found their way to us when their owner passed away. Lucky is playful, and silly with the cutest expressions and a fondness for curling up in unusual places – she is VERY passionate about catnip. Tommy loves watching the world out the window and is a big love bug who enjoys string toys and lap time. Both have unique special dietary needs that require routine/separate feeding instead of shared dishes, therefore they’re looking for an experienced adopter or a human eager to learn. This easy-going pair would love a forever home again; in exchange, they will bring endless love and silliness to your world. If you are not fully certain about adoption, Lucky & Tommy are also looking for a long-term foster family situation. Their special diet would be so much more easily managed in a private home versus the shelter. Safe Haven would supply foster home with unlimited supply of special food and cover any medical expenses. There is not an adoption fee for fostered animals from our shelter. Please reach out to us if interested in fostering Tommy and Lucky together in your home.

Story
Hey I`m Mozzarella!I am a highly energetic, active cat with a lot of curiosity and few inhibitions. Because I tend to act out when I am bored, over stimulated, or frustrated, I must have an adult only home with experienced, cat-savvy adopters (preferably only one person) - if you have experience with my breed or with other high energy/high prey-drive cat breeds such as Bengals, Chausies, or Savannahs that would be a plus. I am not a good cat for people who want a snuggly, well-mannered cat. I do best when I am a solo act. If you are looking for a charming rogue of a cat and think I might be a good match, you can make an appointment to meet me by emailing jskinner@aawl.org.

Story
Sonja is a kitty I rescued, she has been inside with me since she was attacked by a dog in August '22. She is FIV+, which just means she needs to be indoors and well cared for. She is a sweet, smart, feisty girl, with a unique look. She loves being combed, playing with wand toys, horizontal scratchers are LIFE for her. She likes to sing the song of her people sometimes but I think it is because she is lonely, I have 3 resident cats and work long hours so I can’t be with her as much I she needs.

Story
Rescued cats need new home Meet Laverne and Shirley. I have been taking care of these cuties for a couple of years now, ever since they were abandoned by their owners, who used to be my neighbors. The landlord does not allow pets, and I never intended to have pets, so I am looking for a new home for them. They are sisters, about five years old. They are very tame, house-trained and like human contact. They can be good with other cats and kids, once they are acclimated. From what I have observed, they are calm around dogs as long as the dogs are calm around them. They have both been spayed and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. It would be nice if they were adopted together, but what is most important is that the find new homes.
