Story
Elliot is a beautiful and lovable striped tabby with tufts of white on his chest and paws. He was a surprise for a family member but unknowingly to the adopter, the family member had leased a house that does not allow pets. I am currently selling my house and adult daughter has to reduce number of pets for an apartment lease.

Story
Salmon roll, or "Sammy" for short, is an amazingly calm and relaxed young kitten. She might not be super expressive with her love, but she absolutely cherishes everyone. She is fully house and litter box trained as well as comfortable in smaller spaces due to growing up in an apartment. Sammy is rarely ever vocal to the point of being borderline mute, she has such a beautiful voice and is very considerate about how often she showcases it. Should settle in to a new home decently well due to her chill and accepting personality.

Story
In 2020, a family member found 2 kittens at an abandoned home. She fostered them for a short while and then my family took them in. She has been around kids, other cats, and other dogs (both big and small). She regularly stays to herself but will come around at least once per day to cuddle. She is independent but very sweet, once she is acclimated and comfortable.

Story
Description:  Thor and Yoda are a bonded pair who have been spending their time warming up to human touch.  They love being with their people, curious about them and what they are doing.  They are most comfortable at a distance, but love being talked to and petted just before they eat.  They have gotten used to snuggling beside their foster person and enjoying a peaceful snooze on the couch.  They enjoy sleeping in any soft place where there is a window to watch outside and soak  up sunlight. The wand toy is their favorite!  It makes them run and jump like crazy.  They will be happiest in a home with a family who has patience and will continue to socialize and nurture them as part of the family.  Good with Cats: Yes  Good with Dogs:  No.  Good with Children:  No Companion Animal: This pair is bonded and must be adopted together.   Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested, receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption Adoption Process:   Our adoptable animals are located at one of our adoption centers or in foster homes. Story
Approximate Date of Birth:5/11/2018 Description:   Hi there, my name is Creamsicle and I am the most stunning girl ever! I am a pretty chill girl who loves her indoor life. I love pets at mealtimes and when I am given treats but I would much prefer just hanging out by you! I am a pretty sweet girl who is looking for a patient human. I enjoy head pets but do not like when my belly is touched without permission (I am a bit sensitive about that area, like many of you humans are). My favorite napping spots include a bed, in a box or on my cat tree. I enjoy wand toys or any little balls I can bat around! I would do well in a home with another chill and relaxed kitty friend but I would also do great on my own! If I sound like your cup of tea, then come and meet me!! Also, Here is a video of me you can watch: Please copy/paste these links to see Creamsicle playing in her foster home:  https://youtu.be/lE8MyDedjBk              https://youtu.be/0WXKG5ZEGTk Words to describe me: Chill, skittish, sweet Favorite place to nap: On a bed, in a box, on a cat tree by a window Favorite toys: Wand toy, ball on track Ideal day: Chill by a window, sleep, wet food with pets at dinner Likes: Head and body pets, no paws or belly unless I offer Dislikes: Being picked up, held Fastest way to get me to purr: Wet food for dinner with pets Ideal home: Quiet, small family who understands my independence  Favorite treat: Temptations seafood Good with Cats:  Ambivalent towards other cats.  Good with Dogs:  Unknown. Story
This is Little Bit - a beautiful young kitty looking for a forever home. Sadly, her previous owner became homeless, and was unable to care for her anymore. She is around a year old, and is still learning how to be a cat. She was not socialized around other cats, and although she is making progress, she is still learning. She does seem to like dogs, or at least is used to them, as she had 3 doggie siblings. Maybe that is why she is always so interested in the dog food! 😂 She is still very much a kitten - playful, energetic, curious, mischievous… Besides learning to interact with other cats nicely, she is still learning some people skills also. She likes attention, but on her terms, and is easily spooked by unfamiliar things. She can be bribed with Churu treats, and will become a great companion with some time and patience. Her favorite spot is a perch up high where she can feel safe and see everything that is going on. She should be in a home with someone who is experienced with cats and is willing to give her the love and time necessary to feel comfortable. Older kids only, and a home without other cats to start (she is particular about who she likes). Cat friendly dogs would be ideal. She is getting close to her one year birthday, and has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and is FeLV/FIV negative. If you would love to give this beauty the chance to shine, please fill out an adoption application at www.valleydogs.org. She is looking for a kingdom where she can be the queen! pattisenechal@yahoo.com

Story
Hi, I'm Eric! I'm an adventurous guy. I love to strike out on my own to explore the vast expanse of my awesome foster's home. When I am not playing Eric the Explorer, I love to get my belly rubbed! I always return the favor of these fabulous belly rubs by giving you lots and lots and lots and lots of kisses. If you're looking for an adventurous, yet affectionate guy, stop by the adoption center! I&#39m available to meet you by appointment and I also plan to be at the shelter on Saturday from 10-4. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see me! We do require any family interested in meeting our cats to fill out a consultation form - this form helps us determine if the cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo without knowing the personality of the cat. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see me (or come and see me and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL cats are available to the first potential adopter who we feel is a good match, after meeting the cat.Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a - 2p, Wednesday 3p - 7p, Thursday 3p - 7p, Friday 10a - 2p, Saturday 10a - 4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Prince is a orange tabby with a handsome coat and face.  He is approximately 5-7 years old. He has lived in a shelter  for a number of years after his owner passed away.  Prince is a very cautious guy around new humans but loves the company of other cats. He has come a long way since first arriving at the shelter. He enjoys being brushed, rubbed with scatcher, and petted on his back. He loves Fancy Feast too! Prince would be consider a "socially awkward cat".  What is a socially awkward cat?  Some cats are shy, timid, or fearful of people and other cats. They may hide, avoid, or even lash out when approached by strangers. These cats are not mean or unlovable; they are just socially awkward and need extra time and patience to trust and bond with their human companions. They may never become affectionate lap cats, but they have their own unique ways of showing love and appreciation. If you are looking for a cat who will challenge you, surprise you, and reward you with loyalty and devotion, then you might be the perfect match for one of our socially awkward cats.   Because these cats require more patience and understanding than most, we have a few special policies regarding them:   We will ask more questions about your home environment, other pets, children, and other details to make sure you are the right match for the cat. Please don't be discouraged if you are not the right fit! We have many other cats, and one of them is sure to be a fit. We typically arrange video meet-and-greets for these cats for the initial contact. Most of these cats get stressed out by new situations, and allowing them to be seen without that stress trigger makes for a better experience for everyone. We may discount the adoption fees for these cats. Our first priority is to find the right match between cat and human, and we realize that these kitties may take more time than most to settle in and determine compatibility.   If you think you may be the right fit for Prince or another one of our socially awkward cats, please fill out an interest form today!  Prince has become bonded to his bestie Bourbon - they do everything together and help each other navigate the scariness of the world together!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    Our adoption fee is $175       If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Cat Interest Form on AZRAIN.ORG and, if you are selected as a prospective adopter, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Thank you for considering rescuing an animal in need!     November 15, 2024, 9:59 am
