Story
Binky (A136443) is a 3-year-old DSH who weighed 11.5 pounds on intake! 10/31/24 This handsome boy is Binky! Binky was surrendered to the shelter because his owner developed allergies. Binky was described as shy but friendly and extremely affectionate once you are his friend! He was also said to love to watch TV and would be delighted to find a new person to relax with! Binky was said to be litterbox-trained and has used it at the shelter. In his past home he was described as being timid around other dogs and playful towards cats. Please make slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new friends. We have found that he appreciates his hide at the shelter and would appreciate plenty of places to hide in his next home. If you are interested in meeting Binky, please let us know! November 3, 2024, 12:20 am

Story
Slinky (A136400) is a 1-year-and-6-month-old DSH cat available for adoption!Update: At the shelter we have found that Slinky has not been overly receptive to small children during visits and may prefer a home without kiddos. Please ensure you are always supervising interactions for a positive experience! 10/26/24 This handsome guy is Slinky! Slinky arrived at the shelter because his previous owners were moving and not able to bring him along. He was described as being affectionate, and was said to do well with kids, babies and dogs. It is unknown how Slinky does with other cats, so please use caution if planning to introduce him to any. In his previous home, Slinky was said to be an indoor/outdoor cat, and he has a few battle scars that may indicate he got into some scraps with other cats. Please keep this in mind if you have other cats in the home. We also highly recommend keeping cats indoors, especially with the winter months approaching. When cats are allowed to wander outside, it exposes them to many other risks that indoor cats don't face. They can also have a devastating impact on the local ecosystem due to their predatory nature. Slinky did arrive at the shelter with a chicken buddy named Waddles! They are not required to go a home together, but this may indicate he would do well around other livestock. Slinky has been known to be vocal at times. He was also described as having a rough play style, and he will jump on counters (as most cats do). His previous owners also indicated that he is kennel trained, but it is unclear what that means in regards to a cat. If you are interested in meeting this handsome tuxedo-ed boy, please give us a call!October 31, 2024, 11:10 pm

Story
Meet Jake... Sweet lil 7 month old male who came to us from a place in Soldotna who's caretaker recently passed away. He obviously knew love as he enjoyed pets and attention right away. Jake was part of a colony of kitties so he is super social. He now shares a house with older kiddos, an abundance of cats and 3 large doggos. He is talkative, playful, loves snuggles and his belly rubbed. He came into foster with his buddy, 5 month old Reggie, who he would LOVE to be adopted with if you have a kitty already in residence he will be very happy to make a new playmate! He will need a safe place to play outside with his family when the weather is nice. In Soldotna but can travel for a loving family. Call or text 907 953-0333

Story
Cocoa loves people, loves pets, loves to purr, is super soft and gorgeous! Cocoa has now raised her babies and they are leaving for new homes. She was a great mom and now it's time for her to find a family of her own. She absolutely loves being warm, safe, fed, and appreciates the people who care for her after her hard life outdoors. She does well with other cats and gentle dogs. But she is such an affectionate girl, she hopes there will be some special human who will make her their special girl. We think she is a couple years old, very tiny and slim. She would enjoy a place to wander out and watch the world go by when spring comes. But most of all, she really hopes for love. She is in Homer but a ride up the highway is possible for a great family. Call 907 980-8898
