Story
Cats-the most effective, affordable and environmentally friendly pest control method! The barn cat, also known as a feral cat, is a domestic cat, usually of mixed breed, that lives primarily out-of-doors, in a feral or semi-feral condition on agricultural properties, usually sheltering in outbuildings.Individuals interested in adopting barn cats must be able to provide the cats with shelter, food, water, and vet care. Barns, outbuildings, factories, and warehouses are all considered suitable shelters for the cats. All barn cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated against rabies, and ear-tipped.If you are interested in adopting a barn cat please fill out the adoption questionnaire and a member of the adoption center team will contact you!*cats pictured are not available*

*The pets pictured in this posting are just ad pictures not available pets.*The Yakima Humane Society provides care for thousands of animals each year, some of which require time in foster care before they are ready to be adopted. Fostering a homeless pet is both a rewarding and enriching experience; it is also great for families or individuals who love animals but cannot commit to having a full-time companion animal. The care that dedicated Foster Care Families provide is invaluable, both to the animals fostered and the people that adopt them. You can foster as much or as little as you like, and we need foster homes for a wide variety of animals - kittens, puppies, cats, dogs, and an occasional small & furry animal! You can learn more about our foster program and fill out an application athttp://www.yakimahumane.org/get-involved/foster/.*The pets pictured in this posting are just ad pictures not available pets.*

Story
Meet Nancy, a beautiful one year old Domestic Medium Hair cat. Nancy came to us with her kittens, but now they are weaned and she is ready to find her forever home. Nancy is a very sweet girl, she tucked her paws under her during her photos and looked like a very proper kitty. She is friendly, enjoys all the love and attention and was interested in the feather toy. Nancy was in a foster home with dogs and cats, she can be a bit growly with other animals as she first warms up and we think she would do fine cohabiting with dogs or cats given a proper introduction period but she doesn't want to be their playmate or friend. She would be perfectly happy as the only pet in the household as well. This pet is available for adoption at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Before you go searching for free kittens or kittens for sale, check your local Shelters for available cats and kittens that have been vetted and are ready to go home. Adopt Don't Shop.

Meet Luke! Luke is a handsome medium haired tuxedo, whose special talent is being a goofball! Luke loves to run and climb and be petted. Luke can be a bit timid in new situations but warms up quickly! He loves dry cat food, watching birds and squirrels out the window, all the while waiting and hoping for his very own forever home! Luke has shared a room with another lonely foster kitten, but hasn’t met any other cats, and hasn’t met any dogs or children. Luke has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $125 and includes a complimentary vet exam, coupons from Petsmart, and a gift bag from POPP. Story
Meet Duke! Hello, I'm Duke. Here's my story. After being on my own for some time, I happened to see a car with an open door. Hoping it would take me someplace better, I snuck in and waited to see where I would be going. When the people found me, they took me to a loving foster lady who has been taking care of me and getting me ready for adoption. I'm very gentle, playful, and love lots of attention. I am familiar with house cats and a small dog. I'm about a year old from what people tell me! I would prefer to be an indoor/outdoor kitty in a place where I would be safe! Duke has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $100 and includes a complimentary vet exam, coupons from Petsmart, and a gift bag from POPP. If you're interested in giving Duke a home, please complete our adoption questionnaire: https://www.popptricities.org/adopt/adoption-questionnaire-feline/
