Story
Gracie has been such a gift to our family this past decade. We first adopted her as a young kitten 10 years ago -- she was the sweetest cat to my elderly mother. After my mother passed away, she has stayed with our family and has been such a joy. Gracie is the most snuggly lap cat you've met. She will be your best friend on the sofa -- and loves to receive and give affection! She prefers to be the only pet of the house --- as she's not her best self around other animals. Gracie loves her routine and regularity. We think she'd be an ideal fit for a quiet home or small family -- either a couple or perhaps a senior citizen looking to have a new pet friend. Gracie is courageous, strong, funny, and affectionate.

Story
Onyx is a very sweet boy that has learned to trust humans slowly but surely since being rescued. He loves the company of other kitties and would do best in a home with other cats where he can continue to be socialized and build his confidence. Onyx is a great listener and enjoys his routine to make him feel as comfortable as possible in a new environment. His foster mom has taught him how to give head boops and kisses and would be happy to work with his new family to show them how to continue helping Onyx become the perfect house cat. Onyx needs to be adopted by a cat experienced adopter that is willing to give him time and patience as he acclimates to his new home. To be considered as a potential adopter, complete an adoption application. Completing the application does not guarantee it will be approved. Story
Meet Buddy! She's a friendly indoor/outdoor cat looking for her end game. She embodies cat qualities: loyal, affectionate, loving, slow blinks and chasing toys. She is looking to be your only cat. She's a domestic medium hair tabby with a soft, shiny coat, big green eyes and a fluffy tail. Her shots and health care is up to date, records provided. She's approx 9 yrs old and weighs 10 pounds. She has lived outside where dogs chase her and there are cars close by. Rescuing her would take her out of danger. She has an eartip because she was spayed, microchipped and vaccinated initially as an outdoor community cat. What's she's looking for in an adopter: treats! Playtime with toys, having a catio / safe access to the outside, affection, brushing her, a warm home and your patience. To be considered as a potential adopter, complete an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Currently in a KSC Foster Home    Hi I’m Camille. I was found outside all alone. A wonderful person brought me inside and wanted to keep me but her kitty was not a fan of other cats. She contacted King Street Cats and they agreed to take me in. I had some issues that turned out to be allergies. I’m allergic to something called storage mites and dust mites. I don’t know what they are but I do know they make my skin feel yucky. I went to one of KSCs foster homes where we figured out exactly what I need to stay healthy. My foster mom says I’m very easy to care for. I eat wet food only, one can of Fancy Feast for breakfast and one can for dinner. I use paper litter, which doesn’t cost anymore than any other litter. They have paper crumbles and paper pellets. I have used both and am not picky! One other thing is monthly flea treatment even though I must be an indoor only kitty.    I absolutely love people. I don’t think I would like the small humans so a somewhat quiet home would be perfect for me. I definitely want to be the center of your attention so being an only kitty suits me just fine. Are you looking for a buddy to hang out with? I am your girl!    If you would like to meet Camille please visit the following link to fill out an application.  https://www.kingstreetcats.org/info/adoption Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. October 13, 2024, 7:33 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, we are Leon & Leona.  We were found outside trying to fend for ourselves when someone thankfully brought us to KSC.  We are sweet but a bit shy (especially Leon - he’s the orange male medium-hair kitty).  I’m Leona, the gray and white female, domestic shorthaired kitty.  The caregivers here have been so kind to us and knowing that we are shy, they go slowly, but we do enjoy getting petted and are loving the comfortable bed and yummy food.  We would like to have a quiet home with no children or dogs and a cat savvy person who will give us time to acclimate and settle in.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. October 13, 2024, 7:33 pm

Story
Howdy! My name is Bell and I'm a handsome fluffy gray tabby kitty with lively green eyes. Everyone tells me I'm a total love bug! I'm a calm, sweet, and social boy. Having visitors stop by is always so exciting - I just love being with people. I enjoy pets and head rubs. I like it when you talk to me and I'm an attentive listener. I like to snack on crunchy Temptations. I'm playful and my favorite toy is a pipe cleaner...they are so much fun to swat at and bat around. I appreciate having company when I eat (bet you do too!). I just happen to be on the prowl for an amazing person to share my life with. I'm an easy-going kitty who is delightful to spend time with. We could relax on the sofa and watch home reno shows on HDTV together. Are you ready to share your life with a loveable kitty? Well, here I am! Why don't you come by the shelter so we can meet. I just know we will get along purrfectly!

Story
Mack, brown tabby male , and Eden, orange/white female, met in foster care, arriving from the same shelter and quickly became friends. They play, sleep and hang out together. Mack is confident and very affectionate; the snuggly one of the duo. He loves to be held - tries to talk but only a little whisper comes out - will sleep next to Eden or his foster dad, but rarely alone. Mack is very curious and gets into everything! Infatuated with the sink, when he hears water he comes running. He is always ready to shower you with love. His outgoing and engaging spirit will warm your heart. Eden takes a minute for her to decide that you're safe. She enjoys being pet and will purr with delight but likes to keep her feet on the ground ! Her playful spirit will keep you entertained for hours. Her favorite past time is looking out the window to watch the birds, squirrels and chipmunks . She LOVES Mack! These 18-20 week old friends love chasing toys, especially spring toys which are a favorite, and each other with enthusiasm that only a kitten can muster! Best of both worlds! These kittens are a package deal, and they must be adopted together. Sorry, not suited for a home with small children as loud noises scare Eden. They've been each other's best friends from day one, and are ready to share their love with you. Updated 9/28/24 First free exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital also included.

Story
Anna is a charming black and orange cat with a distinct look, thanks to the orange patch covering half of her face. She's a bit on the chunky side, adding to her cozy appeal. What sets Anna apart is her chatty nature; she loves engaging in "conversations" with her favorite humans, making her a delightful companion. While she may not be the most playful cat, preferring to relax rather than run around, she's incredibly affectionate and calm. Anna almost never bites or scratches, and her gentle demeanor is matched by her love for being petted. She'll often bunt her head against you to get your attention, a sweet gesture that makes her presence known. Despite her relaxed nature, her constant meows ensure she's never far from your thoughts. If you are interested in adopting Anna, please send an email to James at james.pehrson1@gmail.com to arrange an initial virtual meet and greet with the pet's foster parent or a staff member. They will reply to you within 24-48 hours.

Story
No matter if you're looking for your first cat or another sweetie to add to your pack, Ruby may be the cat for you! This 10 mos old petite girl has shown herself to be a quiet, gentle sweetheart who might start out a little shy, but as soon as she figures out that you're the provider of treats and wet food, she'll be your best friend. She is very gentle and enjoys being pet and brushed! Ruby is perfectly content to make biscuits and lay beside you as you binge-watch your favorite TV shows. With her easy-going nature and simple needs, Ruby is the ideal companion for any home, whether it's a cozy apartment or a spacious house. She gets along well with other kitties but would be happy to be your one-and-only as long as you have alot of time to spend with her. She has perfect house manners. Pretty li'l Ruby arrived in our care after spending several months in a crowded shelter cage. As a result of her extended stay, she contracted a severe upper respiratory which also affected one of her eyes. We treated her with two special eye drops and have seen a lot of improvement. She got the "all clear" and while there is a little scarring, will not require any further treatment Meet her in Arlington, VA Posted 9/28/24 10/16/24 Update: Ruby was moved to a new foster home where she could have more space to roam; after only one day, her foster mom writes:"She's very responsive when I approach her--head butter, purring, allowing me to pet her. Likes to look out the window. I think she's being reasonably cautious and taking her time. She's really sweet. She'll make somebody really happy!"

Willow is looking for her forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: No Whomping Willow here; our Willow is a chill and friendly cat! Her favorite pastimes are napping and watching her humans-more of an observer than an "in the action cat. She loves her pets, and she'll keep coming back for more. Even with strangers, once she's comfortable enough to let them pet her, they're her best friend. Sometimes, she'll even adorably plop onto her back for belly rubs to switch it up. Willow is a gorgeous long-haired tabby who requires a few minutes of brushing to keep up her cute appearance. She'll pay you in cuddles for your time. Her fun fact? She has the fluffiest toes of any cat. Willow is the perfect easy-going and loveable cat; apply for her today!
