Story
This cute boy is Biscuit. He is a sweet 1 year old boy who loves to explore and follow you around. He can be persnickety with other cats and dogs, so we recommended an only animal household for him. He is FIV+, so he tends to sound like a bull-frog. If you are looking for a companion around the house that will make you laugh, Biscuit is your kitty. Come say hi to him today and see why we all love him!

Story
Sweet 4-Year-Old Cat Looking for a Loving Home We have a gentle and docile cat. She loves to wander around and will happily cuddle on your bed or near you if you allow her. Unfortunately, we cannot keep her anymore. Over the past several months, our dogs have started bullying her, which has forced her to hide and not receive the attention she deserves. She is scared of dogs because of this. I don’t think she will do well w another female cat, maybe a kitten if properly introduced. She really just needs human companionship. She is the sweetest. Key Details: - Age: 4 years - Temperament: Very docile and gentle - Good with Kids: Yes, she enjoys chilling out with our children when she gets the chance - Includes: Cat crate with shelves, beds, bowls for food and water, and a cat scratch tower - Rehoming Fee:$50 If you have any questions or would like to meet her, please contact me. Story
PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO - Nicky's story starts at 6:55 min. Nicky is an absolute survivor! A homeless man near Skidrow started feeding Nicky when he was already in bad shape. But the homeless man didn't have the means to take Nicky to the vet. He built him an adorable little house made out of a cardboard box and covered with plastic to protect Nicky from the cold and rain. We rushed Nicky to our vet immediately and he was extremely underweight, his skin had sores and scabs all over, he had injured paws and the worst: Nicky had a diaphragmatic hernia. The vet thinks that he had been hit by a car at some point and the hernia kept getting bigger, literally pushing his intestines into his lungs and against his heart. It was a race with time, because Nicky was in such bad condition at first, that he was not a candidate for surgery. But Nicky has a strong will to live and he is a super nice cat! He purrs immediately when you start petting him. He's a quiet guy and loves to eat. With proper TLC and medication, Nicky started to gain weight and his skin cleared up. Just in time for his life saving surgery. Nicky received the operation to repair the hernia at one of the best hospitals in Los Angeles. He's an absolute miracle cat! Nicky is recovering extremely well from the surgery and indulges in eating his favorite foods. Nicky is about 6 years old, so he's fairly young for a cat. He is FIV+ but Leukemia Negative. Nicky could be in a home with another cat or as the only kitty. He's a very patient, loving handsome guy! Nicky would love to have his own home where he would be loved and he could make up for the time of neglect in the streets. Will you make Nicky happy?! Ingrid (512) 980-0105 pcdrapps@yahoo.com

Story
Big Personality, Heart of Gold, Diva Even if you are gluten-free, this kind of Wheat is great for you! She is always curious about where you are and will follow you around to stay in the loop. She is reserved initially, but give her a little warm up time and she'll show you her affectionate side. She likes pets and chin scratches and will rub up against you, give you headbutts with her super cute round head, purr, and turn happy circles around you. She likes to be the one to decide when it's petting time, so watch for her cues! Wheat likes to park herself near you and hang out, but she isn't the snuggly type. Sitting quietly near her humans is just what she needs to feel content and happy. She can be super affectionate but doesn't need you to pet her all the time, and when she has had her Affection Fix, she will let you know what her boundaries are. She is happy having some alone time too. Though a Golden Girl, she still occasionally likes to bat toy balls around! And she is super curious, always interested in what is on the other side of that closed closet or bedroom door. She can be chatty if she wants something, but she's generally quiet and self-sufficient. You'll fall in love with her gravelly meow! In her previous home, Wheat was fearful and stressed with the introduction of a toddler who was way too active for this chill girl's taste. She also did not like living with another cat. A low-traffic, low stress home would be best for Wheat with adults and young adults only who can understand when she wants some loving and when she's done with pets. Ideally, Wheat would be the only pet in the household. This is where she will shine, purr and become your beloved and loyal resident couch potato! Ms. Wheat didn't get to this age without forming some opinions about life and deciding what she likes and doesn't like. She definitely has her preferences and will let you know them! She needs to stay on a special diet to prevent kidney stones. Her food is readily available in local stores as well as online. Questions? Just ask! Wheat has a thick black and white tuxedo and a pink nose with a black freckle! She's such a regal beauty. She simply needs people to give her time to settle in, some places to tuck herself into until she feels safe, and a home that respects her boundaries and welcomes her affection. She is a wonderful cat looking for a wonderful home! How about yours? Contact us to meet Wheat! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Wheat please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Sweet, Affectionate, Food-Motivated Need a new home office assistant? Dwight Schrute is your guy! He's up for any job, especially if it involves giving head boops and greeting everyone he sees with sweet meows. Dwight is a super friendly guy who loves being around people. He loves laying on you and following you around and will snuggle up against you any chance he gets. It's actually incredible how loving and trusting he is of people despite what he has experienced in his past. Dwight came to APA! via AAC after being brought there with wounds on his shoulder and leg. He was tragically a victim of human violence and has a bullet lodged in his spine. Despite the absolutely terrible treatment from humans he has experienced, Dwight has shown that he has learned to love people again and deserves to find the most loving home where he will be spoiled with attention! Because of Dwight's past injuries, he is incontinent with hindlimb paralysis and requires some extra medical care. He needs his human to press gently on his bladder twice a day to "express" it and help him go pee. It is super easy once you get the hang of it, and APA! will show you how! He doesn't need any help to poop; he will just leave little poop nuggets on the floor which are easy to clean up a few times a day. For more information, please contact APA! Dwight has been living with other cats in a group room at APA!, so he can peacefully coexist with other kitties, although he doesn't play or snuggle with them much. He also would rather not have any other kitties try to roughhouse with him. He much prefers the company of humans! Dwight is pretty easygoing and only meows when he's asking for food or greeting people (which he loves to do)! The perfect forever home for Dwight is one with people who have no problem helping him out with his incontinence needs and will give him all the love and attention he deserves! Dwight has been through a lot, but nothing would make him happier than to find his forever home where he can hang out with you throughout the day and curl up next to you for pets and snuggles. Oh, and lots of treats and snacks too! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Dwight Schrute, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Friendly, talkative, gorgeous This lovely lady came to us all the way from Kuwait! She's a super-snuggly girl who adores pets and will roll around on the floor at your feet to ask for them. If you don't notice her, she'll follow up with a loud announcement about how very much she would love some cuddles. Her long black fur is gloriously soft, so you will love petting her! Steel enjoys using her cat scratcher. She also has a fondness for kicking towels. No need to buy kicker toys for her; she'd rather use the towel! Steel especially loves a sunny window or enclosed patio. If you have large potted plants, you might find her curled up napping in the planter! Steel has lived with other cats. She gets along OK with the nice ones, but would really rather be the star of your show. Steel suffered some kind of injury in her past that required the amputation of her back right leg. But no worries, it healed perfectly and she gets around just fine. The same injury may have also caused her incontinence so she requires some extra medical care that may include a regulated diet and/or manual expression. For more information, please contact APA! Steel needs a very special person who can understand her needs and give her the loving care she deserves. She will reward her person many times over with a lifetime supply of purrs and cuddles. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Steel, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
