If you need a loyal, nurturing, and sweet companion, Nurse Gretchen is here to make your life feel out of this world! Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt! DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!! Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.

Story
We got Mowgli in July of 2022. He was doing great with our other cat, they were best buds. Then one day he attacked our other cat for no reason, bit a chunk out of his tail, and has wanted him dead ever sense and will stop at nothing. We've been keeping them separated since May thothr day, we had our other cat in our bedroom so Mowgli could roam the house freely. Mowgli was by the door to our bedroom. I think he knew our cat was in there. I needed to get in the room so I very gently and slowly tried moving him with my leg and that's all it took. He attacked my foot badly. He figured out it was me soon enough and let up. Other than that, he was very friendly, playful and a relaxed, laid back guy. He really is a great cat. We can't keep doing this, him being in one room most of his life is not good, he needs a home with no pets. Or else I'll have to surrender him and he may have to get euthanized. He's independent, so if someone is gone a lot thatsfine.

Story
Binx is an all black, 4-year-old female cat who is very lovable, loves to snuggle, and has tons of energy and loves to play! Unfortunately the stress of having two very young kids has not been good for her, and she has gained weight and has become slightly aggressive with us as a stress response. She does not like either kid, and needs to be in either a kid-free home or a home with kids who are older (10+). She does not care for men, and will hiss and growl at most men she sees and comes into contact with, and has lived as the only pet since she was 8-weeks-old. She is still very lovable once she warms up to you, and loves to play and run around and attack your ankles when you walk by! She has not had a rabies shot since 2021, and has been mostly indoors. All of her other shots are up-to-date! She loves to lay around and chill, but also loves to play and run around! She loves to cuddle up and sleep on/with you! She is very friendly, extroverted, and loving once she warms up to you!
