Meet Misty, the epitome of softness and sass in feline form. With her velvety fur and spirited personality, Misty captivates the hearts of all who have the pleasure of meeting her. Despite her petite size, Misty exudes a confidence that shines through in her occasional moments of sassiness. She knows what she likes and isn't afraid to let you know when she prefers petting over being held. Misty's independent spirit is part of her charm, and she brings a touch of spunk to every interaction. But beneath her occasional sassiness lies a heart full of love and affection. Misty adores snuggling with her human companions, reveling in the warmth and comfort of their presence. While she may prefer snuggling on her own terms, Misty's love knows no bounds, and she cherishes the moments spent in close companionship. One of Misty's favorite pastimes is birdwatching from the window, where she can observe the world outside with fascination and curiosity. Watching her gaze intently at the fluttering birds is a testament to her playful and inquisitive nature, bringing joy to all who witness her excitement. Despite being FIV+, Misty harbors no ill will towards other kitties and enjoys their company immensely. As long as they reciprocate her affection, Misty poses no threat to her feline companions and is happy to share her love and companionship with them. In essence, Misty is more than just a soft and sassy kitty; she is a loving companion, a playful spirit, and a cherished member of the family. It can be downloaded as a pdf document from our website and submitted by email to WindyRidgeRescue@gmail.com as a scanned document or as photos OR can be completed entirely online. Both links are in the header of our website. Because we are foster based, we require an approved application to schedule a meet and greet. We feel that is fair to our fosters and rescues so every meet and greet can result in an adoption. A limited number of cats are showcased at Peetco in Sumter, SC weekly. ​We do not have set adoption fees for dogs, but hope adopters will donate generously so we can rescue more. The medical care for every dog can easily exceed the adoption donation. Average adoption fees for dogs in the area range from $175 up to $450. Your generous adoption donations help us continue our programs of providing quality food and medical care to those who pass through our fosters. We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $70 for cats who are not yet altered and $100 for cats who are already spayed or neutered, regardless of age. Please bring your own carrier for the ride home! Each cat is up to date on vaccinations, dewormer, and microchipped. Larger donations are always welcome so we can rescue more. Medical care for each cat easily exceeds the minimum donation. ​As with every rescue, our resources are limited and the need for rescue help is unlimited. Your generosity helps us to rescue more and funds the only Trap Neuter Return Program in the county. It's like tossing $100 bills in the woods when we trap a cat, vaccinate and spay or neuter that cat and then return them to the colony. Young kittens are tamed and available for adoption. We are alone doing this in our area. Your increased donation at the time of adoption can help us cover costs for the cat becoming part of your family as well as a feral to prevent more feral litters. ​Adopting or fostering for a rescue frees up a space where a new rescue can reside. ​If you can't adopt or foster, than please consider donating.
