This handsome boy came to us along with his buddies Uno and Dos in January 2024 and is looking for a quiet home to call his own. Olaf is one of our more skittish kittens at this time but we know with the right amount of patience and time, he will blossom into a wonderful cat! We do believe Olaf would do best in a home with another cat to keep him company and help boost his confidence. Olaf is a lot of talk when it comes to him being surprised and will do little hisses until he realizes that you are not going to hurt him. He likes gentle, slow pets and does not mind being picked up as long as it is on his own terms. A quiet home with not a lot of activity would be the best fit for Olaf until he learns that the world is not as scary as he thought! He is slowly starting to show little bits of his personality here with us and staff and volunteers can occasional catch him tussling with one of his siblings or playing with toys. Meet Archer! This senior lady came to us in July 2024 when her owner was no longer able to care for her and is looking for her forever home! Archer is a very relaxed old girl but does not let that stop her from talking up a storm! She is an absolute purr and meow box and is always chatting with staff and visitors for attention. Archer would love nothing more then to find a quiet home where she can cozy up in a comfy bed or in someone's lap! Archer would prefer to be the only feline in her forever family's heart and does not care for the company of other cats. Her previous owner said she did not do badly with dogs. Saffron was born in rescue on 5/15. She is a sweet kittens who loves to play and run around. She has medium hair now that is silky smooth, however we think she might have long hair as her mom and siblings do. She will come running at the clatter of a bowl. She loves company and food of course. She is great with other cats, kids , large and small dogs, and whatever farm animal sneaks in. She has been fully vetted, up to date on vaccines for her age, microchipped , receives Revolution Plus monthly as a preventative. She is located in Crossville, TN . Morticia arrived at the shelter with her litter of kittens and was in foster care until they were ready to find forever homes to call their own. Morticia prefers a quiet home where she can be the queen bee. She enjoys attention but likes it to be on her terms. She would love to find her loving forever home soon!   So many stories in the rescue world about cats and they all seem to have the same start all too often and too sad.  This stunning grey tabby and white boy is called Chester, he is just barely one year of age and born to a stray momma cat.  Living outdoors all his life, his momma brought him and his littermates to a family house where she hoped to be fed and to care for her litter born outside a home.  Somehow her 4 kittens survived and here is Chester to prove that miracles can happen for these lost and forgotten mommas and their babies.  Chester is now a very handsome 13 pound boy that has been invited inside a foster home and is being given the wide berth to relax and make himself at home as a pampered and well fed adult cat.  He’s still super shy and will hide a lot under the bed, but he is starting to come out for some play time and chin scratches.  In just 4 days he has made such strides and advancements to allow toys to entice him to come out several times without fear and allow his new foster mom Joyce to pet him and given him chin rubs.  He is learning to be petted and to trust this new foster mom.  He and his littermates are all grown up but very young and they are getting better with the litterbox training and are eating with a hearty appetite.  We feel that time and patience will see Chester and his siblings stay out from under a bed or in hiding more and more as they learn they are safe and have a promise of food and love every day for the rest of their life.  If you are interested in helping Chester learn daily how to receive love and be happy with being touched, then please email us and ask to foster him or adopt him.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com we are anxious to find a capable home to love him all the way. Meet Bigsby, also known as Ms. Bigg, a pretty grey and cream tabby who is about eight or nine years old.    Bigsby is a dog in a cat's body, according to her foster's friends. She earned this reputation by coming out of the woodwork and demanding attention from them whenever they visit. Without fail, as soon as a visitor sits in her favorite chair, she assumes this is an invitation to get attention and sprawls on their chest and shoulder and purrs. When her foster worked from home, she was the Official Office Cat and was often the unintentional star of a few Zoom/Teams meetings; her foster has since RTO'd, which makes Bigsby sad. She is very affectionate and wants to be with her people.   Currently, she's living in a house with a few other cats and a couple of big dogs (coonhounds); she doesn't create issues with any of them, though she's not exactly snuggly with them, either. She would likely do just fine as a solo cat or in a household with other pets. Beyond human attention and the standard food, water and a clean litter box, she needs just one thing every day: allergy medication.
