Story
Bud showed up in the spring and has been living outside and on our back porch since. I already have outside and inside cats and am trying to slim down. He is ok with other cats once they get used to each other. He is very friendly towards most people. He is like a gentle giant. Good cat if you don't want a real energetic cat. I had him to the vet recently. Had rabies shot, clean bill of health.

Story
Ruthie showed up on my best friends back porch last winter. My friend was trying to keep him, but has had issues having 5 cats 😅. Unfortunately, Ruthie just hasnt meshed well with the oldest female cat in the house. He gets teased and ends up hiding in the basement. Ruthie does well with the other cats, and is tentative with dogs. He is incredibly cuddly, loving, and chill. He is a larger medium haired pur monster. My best friend just had a baby, now Ruthie is struggling more. Please help me find him a loving home!!! LOCATED IN LANCATER CITY PA

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Snowflake was my sons cat. He said he found her in a sewage drain as a kitten. He gave her to me because he didn't have time for her and she was being abused by people he was living with. She is around 4 years old we believe. My son said he did get her shots and that he did have her fixed. She has recently been attacking our other cat for no reason. Up until 3 months ago they were getting along great. Now I have to keep Snowflake separated because she won't stop being aggressive towards our other cat and my husband. She doesn't like hyper people, she doesn't like children. And I would now say she will not tolerate other pets. She is highly food motivated once she is comfortable with you and her surroundings. She likes to be in the sun and snuggled up in a blanket. She also likes routine. I believe she may have some ptsd and anxiety. Certain sounds or movements may trigger her to act out. She has never clawed furniture and had always used a litter box. She deserves a good life.

Story
Hello, I'm Vanna. I'm young and full of life, always curious about the world around me. My days are filled with exploring every nook and cranny of my surroundings. I've learned that every corner holds a new adventure. I'm also quite the cuddler. There's nothing I love more than snuggling up to a friendly face, purring contentedly. I've got a sweet and friendly nature that makes me a great companion. I'm always ready to greet anyone with a soft nudge and a warm purr. I believe that every day is a new opportunity to make friends and share love. So why should you adopt me? Well, I promise to fill your life with warmth, love, and endless cuddles. I'm not just a cat, I'm a friend for life. I can't wait to start our journey together. To adopt me please fill out the online application at: https://cocoakitties.org/adoption-application Cocoa Kitties rescues cats off the streets of Hershey and surrounding towns. We are a 501(c)(3) organization that is funded 100% by donations. We do not operate a shelter but keep our kitties in foster homes. We rely on foster families who open their homes to care for the kitties we rescue. We ask that you complete an application before we send you into the homes of our volunteers. Also please keep in mind that applications are always being processed so we cannot guarantee the availability of a kitty until your application is approved. We operate on a first approved basis. We work very hard to process applications in a timely manner but rely on your references, veterinarian, and landlord to respond so please let them know we will be contacting them. ~You must be 21 years of age or older to adopt. ~Your current pets need to be up to date on vaccinations and preventatives and they need to be altered. ~ If you are adopting a kitten and have no other pets at home please consider adopting two. Kittens thrive in pairs. Kittens: $125 Cats: $100 Before they go home our kitties are: · Vaccinated age appropriately (Rabies and FVRCP) · Treated for internal and external parasites* · Tested for FELV/FIV · Microchipped · Spayed/Neutered (for kittens that is around 12 weeks of age) · Started on flea prevention *Parasites are common in kittens and cats and may take time to treat completely. We cannot guarantee that your cat or kitten will be completely worm/parasite free at adoption. We do not declaw our kitties and do not allow adopters to declaw them. We require our kitties to live indoor lives. Lifetime Commitment: Please remember a kitty requires a 100% committed family for the kitty's entire lifetime which is some cases can be more than 20 years. Talk this through completely with your family and make sure everyone is onboard before completing this application.
