Story
Eddie is a shy but playful feline who is slowly coming out of his shell in his foster home. He has a soft spot for other cats and loves to engage in playful antics with them.Eddie may be a bit reserved at first, but he’s learning to seek out pets and affection from his humans. His curiosity and desire for interaction are growing each day.One of Eddie’s favorite pastimes is basking in the sunshine and curling up in soft, cozy beds. He finds comfort and warmth in these simple pleasures.Eddie is also very food-motivated. His love for treats and meals is undeniable. But what’s even more endearing is the fun noises he makes as he tries to ‘echo locate’ you in the house. It’s his unique way of communicating and it adds to his charm. If you’re looking for a cat who is gradually learning to trust and show affection, and who has a playful side with other cats, Eddie could be your perfect match. He needs a patient and loving owner who can give him the time he needs to adjust and feel safe.Cats: Required to be adopted with a buddy or have another cat in the home.Dogs: Yes, has experience with small dogsKids: Older or adult only. Scares easilyMedical: He came in with swollen paw pads, aka Pillow paws. Feline Plasma cell pododermatitis is an immune mediated disease that cats can have that causes their paw pads to swell. He is been treated and the pillowing effect is decreasing. Once treated they can go into remission for a long time. It is not well known what causes the flair ups, but allergies may play a role. FIV can be associated but he is FIV/FELV negative.

Story
Josie is a sweet feline with a love for her fellow cats and a growing tolerance for humans. She’s a bit of a cat’s cat, preferring to engage her feline friends in play. Josie enjoys receiving pets when she’s in her safe place. While Josie is still getting used to people, she’s making daily progress. She requires an owner who can offer her patience and understanding as she adjusts to human interaction. If you’re a patient cat lover looking for a sweet cat who adores other felines, Josie could be your perfect match. Story
Elizabeth is a happy young kitten who loves to play and cuddle. She is fostered with her siblings Henry, Harry and Ellie Anna. This lovely group of kittens adore their humans and will flock over to 'hug' their legs and jump onto their laps for cuddles. They are also super active and love to play the kitten version of 'tags', running up and down and wrestling with each other. These kittens grow up with kids so they will do well in family with respectful children. Elizabeth is the most loving of the group and is always the first to run to the humans for cuddles and snuggles. She is also very vocal about what she wants. Her sweet little face and gentle gaze will simply melt your heart when you hold her in your arms. Elizabeth needs to be adopted with one of her siblings, or to a home with a young kitten/cat pal to keep her company.   Her adoption fee is $175 and she lives in a Hillsboro foster home. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under 'ADOPT' on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the foster parent for follow-ups and meeting arrangement. Adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines, and negative FIV and FeLV test. Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. We invite you to become a foster parent and experience the great satisfaction of helping a cat or kitten in need.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
Thistle likes being pet on the back, especially if treats are involved. However, he can be head shy and it’s best not to touch his stomach so he doesn’t mistake your hand for a toy. He is somewhat sensitive to sudden loud noises and sudden movements. Though he recovers from them fairly quickly, safe spots to hide would be appreciated.   Likewise, while he tolerates being held, he doesn’t enjoy it for long periods of time and would prefer to stay on a lap for petting and be lured by treats if he needs to go into a carrier. He loves all kinds of food and treats and sometimes bats hands to demand them. He gets along well with other felines but he may overwhelm shyer cats and needs to be homed with cats that can hold their own with him. He has lived with older children and adults. Because he is still learning gentle play, he would be best in a house with older, cat savvy children. He has not been exposed to dogs.   Thistle was rescued from a feral cat colony. Despite this rough start in life, he is now a friendly and social young cat. We don't know his exact age, but estimate he is between 4 and 8 months old. He has been neutered, and received initial veterinary care: examination, rabies vaccine, first FVCRP vaccine (he needs a booster in late November), deworming, and flea and mite treatment. He has tested negative for FIV, FeLV, and heartworm.  Thistle lives in a Sandy, OR foster home.  His adoption fee is $125.  Thistle is indoor only.   This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Story
Max is an awesome cat that loves people and will need to go to a home that can provide a lot of attention. He prefers to be around people and rarely hides. He's indoor only and extremely affectionate and will faithfully claw a scratching post over furniture. He does not get along with other animals especially dogs and is territorial - when a dog was introduced to his environment he began marking outside of his litterbox from stress; before that he never had an incident so should not go to a home with other animals. Max enjoys salmon flavored wet food (not pate), cat treats, chasing toys, and most of all getting pets. He should be groomed often as he gets mats in his long fur. Story
Hi, I'm the petite gentleman Skye! I have the cutest little ears. I'm a ball of fluffy love.I'm an especially sweet guy with some special needs. I have seizures sometimes which are quite scary for me and anyone watching. When I have a seizure I might fall off my cat tree and (rarely) I lose control of my bladder. I'm on medication for the seizures which is working well. My seizures are more under control that when I first came here and I have them about once a month now. The seizures last about 30 seconds to a minute and there isn't much to be done except make sure I don't fall off something. I also have a history of having urinary crystals so I need to stay on a prescription urinary food for life. That prevents the crystals from forming. I also have a sensitive stomach so there is one type of food that helps both the crystals and my tummy issues.I like to greet people and will give a little head boop to your leg when I am looking for attention. I'm quite mellow as my medication makes me a little sedate to prevent seizures. However, I've recently taught myself how to use a cat wheel (see video below)! The people here were amazed that the most mellow cat in the shelter figured out how to use it.Likes: I love to be social with people. I also love to play! I'm a mellow boy who just loves love.Dislikes: I might be able to hang out with with other cats but I have tried to bully one cat in the shelter before and I've been bullied by some others. A very mellow small dog might be ok but in general I don't like dogs.Looking For: An adopter who is willing to work with my seizures and other special needs. My estimated birthdate is 4/21/2021.

Hi, I'm the regal and dignified Leonard! I'm a fluffy friendly muffin maker. I love to play when I'm in the mood! I was previously hit by a car some years ago but I'm fully recovered. I have seasonal and food allergies so I need to eat a prescription food. I might be ok with another cat but I am on a strict diet of a prescription food.I'm very chill and I even tolerate belly rubs! I love to jump up high and look out windows. I'm in a foster home so if you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application at www.animalaidpdx.org.My estimated birthdate is 2/7/2020.

Story
Meet Stella Sweetheart! Stella is a stunning medium haired cream tabby with the softest fur around! This ginger girl is a rare beauty indeed (only 20% of orange cats are female). Stella's name is so fitting - she is the sweetest girl around! She is an extremely affectionate girl who loves head scratches and will push her head into your hand for more pets. She is a very easy going girl who just needs a sunny place to nap and a human to love! Stella is the perfect mixture of playful and loving! She loves all her kitty toys and likes to pounce and roll around with them. Watch her playful side here: https://youtube.com/shorts/nLRJWO73pVE?feature=share. Stella unfortunately endured a hard life before being rescued. She constantly searched for food in garbage cans just trying to survive. When the trailer park she lived in was condemned and people left, her chances of finding food became even more scarce. Despite this, she kept having litter after litter of kittens, but being extremely malnourished, she couldn’t provide for them, and tragically, most of them didn’t survive. Her motherly instincts remain strong, but since the other cats in her foster home aren’t fond of her attempts to "mother" them, she’s taken to nurturing her toys instead. She’s incredibly affectionate, especially with her foster family’s 9-year-old child, and even gets along with their 90 lb dog! While Stella is still learning how to interact with other cats, she’s eager to play and love! She is looking for a family who will continue to help her learn the finer things in life! If you’re looking for a gentle companion who enjoys relaxing and being pampered, Stella is the ultimate addition to your family! Don’t miss out on this gorgeous lady!
