ZUCCHINI - DMH, male, neutered, orange & white, DOB Aug 2/22 Meet Zucchini - White & Orange sweetheart  This beautiful boy is only two years old. He is really struggling in the store environment and is so sad. He lets us pet him and he's quiet and has the softest little meow. He was transferred to our Rescue from a shelter. We really need to get him into a loving home where he can know what being part of a loving family is to heal his broken heart. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccines. Story
Catastrophe found a place to lay her head and have her babies in a great foster home. June 22, 2024 she gave birth to 5 beautiful babies. Overall, they have been very healthy little ones but have been treated for Upper Respiratory (sneezy, cat cold if you will). Catastrophe was a great mom and was very good to her babies. Mom has been taken care of and now it`s time to get her babies ready for their new furever home. FiV/Felv negative, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, they will be spayed/neutered in October. If you are interested in adopting one of the babies, we will have to arrange a visit if they are still in foster. These babies may be placed in their new home as long as the adopter brings the kitten back to the shelter for vaccines, and surgery. Please start your adoption process by filling out the form or email adoptions@SimcoeDHumane.ca

Story
Bonnie (aka Baby) and Clyde (aka Trouble) came into our system originally through our Spay/Neuter Clinics 2021. These beautiful kittens were cute and sweet and were very by their mamma. Fast Forward to 2024, their mamma has taken very ill, and she can`t take care of the kitties because of her illness. She wants only the best for these little ones and has surrendered them to SimcoeDHumane to find them a new home, hopefully together. They love cuddles, enjoy watching t.v. with mamma, really like their toys and beddies, and are very good with everyone they meet. We want them out of the shelter as soon as possible so they don`t get super stressed or get sick. Please help us find them an incredible home to call their own. There regular price would be $275 but if you have the space in your heart to love both, we will reduce fees by $50 each. Bonnie and Clyde for $450

Story
Meet Mirabel ! Mirabel is a stunning long haired 1.5 - 2 year old FIV positive Torbie. She is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Her woolly mammoth feet are adorable as is the long hair on her ears. She has a sweet calm disposition. When her foster parents enter her room, she greets them with a chirp or meow. When her foster mom sits on the floor, Mirabel immediately crawls on to her lap for kisses and pets. She loves to be petted and brushed. She often makes biscuits and then falls asleep. Definitely a lap kitty. She loves her cubby and lying in the window watching the birds. Her favourite toy is a fuzzy wand toy. During the night, her foster parents can hear her meowing and playing with her other toys and in the morning, they're strewn around the room. She has a healthy appetite but is a grazer with her kibble. She hasn't been around many people so will be shy at first but it did not take her long to warm up to her foster parents. Mirabel would do best in a calmer home and will make a wonderful companion. She would be fine with another gentle cat. Mirabel is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and vet checked. She is in good health but did test positive for FIV. There are no special requirements/needs for an FIV positive .cat - like other cats, they should just get their regular vet check ups/vaccines. Please refer below for more information on FIV. If you have room in your heart and your home for this beautiful sweet girl, please contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at heartstohomes.ca. The adoption fee is $250. FIV is a feline only virus that cannot be transmitted to people or other animal species and it is very difficult to pass to other cats - it is only passed between cats through a deep bite wound – deep enough to inject saliva into the bloodstream of the other cat – commonly occurring in outdoor cats who fight for territory. Cats 'cannot' pass the virus to other cats through casual contact like sharing food bowls or litter boxes or through playing, wrestling or licking/cleaning each other. Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine conducted a long-term study in cat shelters and found that FIV-positive cats can live with FIV-negative cats and not infect the FIV-negative cats during normal day-to-day interaction. Studies over the last 10 years have also shown that cats with FIV often live as long as otherwise healthy cats that do not have this virus. For more information, please check out online articles at the 'Ontario SPCA', 'The United States Humane Society' or 'Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine'. https://ontariospca.ca/.../positive-doesnt-need-to-be.../ https://www.humanesociety.org/news/fiv-positive-cats https://www.vet.cornell.edu/.../feline-immunodeficiency...

Story
Meet Pumpkin! Pumpkin is a medium haired orange & white tabby. She is approximately 2 years old. Pumpkin was found hanging around a fast food restaurant where people were feeding her. A kind employee took her in and contacted us for help. Pumpkin is a very sweet cuddly girl. She loves her foster family and is good with the dogs in the home. She is not a fan of other cats. She loves to play and loves her toys. Pumpkin would do best as an only cat in a home with cat friendly dogs. She has not been proven with children but would likely enjoy children over the age of reason that are respectful & willing to play with her. Pumpkin has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FELV. If you and your puppies have room in your heart & your home for this sweet girl, contact us here, email heartstohomesfelines@gmail.com or fill out an application at www.heartstohomes.ca. The adoption fee is $250.
