Cinnamon came to the shelter on May 15 2024. He was living in a home with many other cats and they needed to downsize. Cinnamon is bonded with Nutmeg as that is what the previous owner noted. Cinnamon is a little nervous when first meeting someone but he will warm up quickly as he enjoys head scratches and cheek rubs and even belly rubs! Introducing Pavel! We honestly can’t understand what led someone to abandon this not quite three-year-old boy in a common pet dumping ground in Northern Ontario. He is a sweet, loving, incredibly handsome kitty who deserves so much better than what the world has shown him so far. When he was first rescued, Pavel was timid—and who could blame him? He spent his days watching the action around him but not really participating. Even then, however, it was obvious he wanted love and was just too shy to ask for it. Since then, he has made great progress, showing his super-curious side and playing with the other cats in the shelter, always wanting to be in the middle of whatever is going on. Pavel did not enjoy the long drive from the shelter to Toronto at all, unfortunately, and some of his shyness returned, but with a bit of time, space and patience he is starting to come back out of his shell. After hiding for much of the first two days, by day three he was starting to make his presence known—meowing in a very “Hey, where is everyone?” kind of way and cautiously exploring—and by day four he was willingly (even eagerly!) approaching his foster parents to ask for pets, happily rolling on the floor like the carefree kitty he deserves to be before returning before to “his” room for some quiet. Pavel is slowly starting to relax and to understand that he is safe. Every day he opens up a bit more, and there is absolutely no doubt that with time he will be a complete snugglebug, showing his playful and curious nature to the lucky family who gives him a forever home. And did we mention how absolutely gorgeous he is? Despite appearing a bit Maine Coon-ish with his super-fluffy tail, Pavel is a petite boy, with stunning markings and the most beautiful, mesmerizing green eyes. Pavel has shown zero fear or aggression when it comes to approaching the other foster kitty in the home and seems very interested in making friends—he would do well in a forever home with a feline buddy, and will likely be good with older children who will spend time playing with him.
