Story
Meet Timmy! Timmy....still a sweet senior cat....but a much less complicated version! When Timmy arrived in HART's care in early June, he was in pretty rough shape. As a 14 year old, obese kitty, he was lethargic and in need of some serious grooming. The vets quickly determined that his blood sugar levels were extremely high and he was put on a special diet and insulin injections. Over the next few weeks, his levels stabilized, his energy level improved, and he truly began to enjoy life again. Timmy now no longer requires insulin or a specialized diet. He loves being brushed and petted and just hanging out with his people. He is still working on weight reduction, so we limit his diet to 1/2 cup daily of dry kibble. He tolerates other cats, but would love to be king of the castle! Timmy came into HART's care after his owner was moved to hospice care and was no longer able to care for him. Let's find Timmy his new forever home. All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative. If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at www.rescueahart.org/adopt/cat-application. The application will put you in touch with a HART volunteer.

Meet Samurai - Courtesy Post Only Samurai courtesy listing: Sam is a friendly, affectionate, and playful survivor! He is 7 years old, neutered (male), microchipped, and current with vet care. Only adopters willing to keep his nails and keep him indoors will be approved. Sam does great with his litter box and scratching post and is easy to care for. Sam’s special needs include yearly dental cleaning and x-rays (he required a root canal to save a broken canine tooth - the dentist doesn’t foresee future issues), over the counter sensitive skin kibble due to sensitive skin in his mouth from past trauma, and only using metal bowls for his food and water. Sam enjoys all the attention his foster family is giving him, but would like a family of his own. He enjoys to travel (no problem going into a cat carrier). He might also make a good therapy cat if you're looking for that special social kitty. Call or text 812.560.8071 for more information regarding adopting Samurai. References and home visit required prior to adoption. This kitty is not in HART's care. Call or text the phone number above directly for questions or more information.

Story
Meet Oliver! Oliver was found huddled on the side of the road with another cat (Annie). A good Samaritan stopped to help him and then called HART. When he came into the foster home he was terrified and hungry. He needed a safe quiet space to decompress and adjust to regular food and water. After a few weeks, he started to play with his foster family! Oliver was still very scared and would run if you moved too quickly but he was making progress and feeling more comfortable. We found out the quickest way to his heart is through treats! He can't get enough and will come running to you to get more! We have had him in foster care for a few months now, and there is a huge difference from when he first came to us! Oliver takes a little bit to warm up but will come out of his shell fairly quickly to get treats and to play! He loves wand toys and shoe strings best. He doesn't mind being brushed but generally takes pretty good care of his grooming needs. He will butt his head into your hand and enjoys full back scratches all the way to the tip of his amazing tail. He is pretty curious and likes to explore and see what's going on. Oliver can be vocal at times and sounds like he is asking questions while he walks around, though his meow is not super loud. Oliver does well with the resident cats and doesn't mind the resident dog either (though he is pretty calm and very good with cats). I don't believe he would do well in a home with small children since he is easily scared by sudden movements and noises. I think he will do best in a calm, quiet home where he is given time to adjust. Oliver would love a home with another friendly cat(s). He really enjoys being with other animals and learning from them. He is always rubbing his head against the resident cats and playing with the other foster kittens! Oliver is a pretty low maintenance cat and will make a great companion! Oliver is around 1-2 years old and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Story
Gracie is a 5 month old Domestic Medium to longer hair kitten. She was brought to me as a 7 week old kitten from Lancaster Kentucky. She had a long trip at a young age. The founder thought she had a severe illness which actually turned into tapeworms and has been cleared up. She has the strangest coat colors. She was all black then got white eyebrows that made her look like Marvel Character Wolverine. They have since changed back to black. Now her tail is all white and I call her my skunk girl (Due to her coloring). Her tail may change back to black at some point; but right now is white. She loves to play with the other kittens in my cat room, especially Faith who was brought to me at the same time. She loves to be held and purr when she is not playing. Please consider giving her the best home possible. HART recommends kittens 6 months of age and younger be adopted in pairs. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Purrfect Friends Cat Rescue and its volunteers have not evaluated this animal in any way and can not be held liable for the current condition or future care of the animal. Please work with the specific contact in the posting to confirm if the animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, etc. and for a complete description of the animal's personality and behavior traits. Boy was my dad's favorite cat caring for him initially as an  outdoor cat, even neutering him and taking him to the vet, as needed,  when he hurt himself outside.  After many years, Dad coaxed Boy to " retire" inside.  Boy established himself as the dominant cat in the  home - not at all mean or hurtful to the other cats, simply a gentle  dictator.  Boy loves to lap sit.  His teeth are not in great shape, but  he eats well. He seems sensitive to a lot of petting. Dad thought his  sensitivity was due to the rough time he experienced as an outside cat.   Boy would be best loved and cared for by another retired gentleman who  would love to have one faithful lap cat. His owner passed away unexpectedly and he and his feline siblings are looking for new homes. Contact Ginger for more information  catmom4766@gmail.com or  937-693-3910 November 2, 2024, 3:53 pm

Please work with the specific contact in the posting to confirm if the animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, etc. and for a complete description of the animal's personality and behavior traits. Precious was an outdoor cat and mother of 4 when we found her in the West End next to our building. She has been through a lot in the last 4 weeks (spayed, shots, locked in a cage, brought to several locations and now in a more open area) yet transitioning from being in a cage to an open area and learning to actually play for the first time in her life. Precious will need a patient and loving foster   parent/Forever home who will continue her socialization and her ability to fully understand love and affection unconditionally. She is learning trust and likes to hang out and observe people before approaching. She is partial to Women as they have a softer voice which she is attracted to and feels most comfortable. Currently Precious is making progress on her own terms yet really wants a forever home. Contact Kimberly  kimothyhruse@gmail.com or 513-673-2795November 2, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
Wally showed up in early November of 2023, when we caught a glimpse of him dashing out of our garage with a bag of cat treats in his mouth. The treats were intended for a semi-feral tomcat we had been trying to domesticate. He showed up again the next day, looking for more food, and it was apparent that he was malnourished and could hardly open his eyes. We managed to get him in a crate and took him to Kitty Angel where he received food and fluids and his condition was assessed. During the exam it was discovered that  he had an intestinal infection and  his eyes were entropion, meaning the bottom eyelids were flipped over, causing severe irritation. After a month of treatment, the  intestinal infection cleared up and the vet determined that they could move forward with correcting his entropic condition. Two surgeries later, his sparkly green eyes were finally visible and he was free from the irritation that must have plagued him his entire life. His demeanor and disposition improved dramatically after the surgery, and he became much more affectionate and playful. He still has his moments and may nip a little if startled and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but he’s a curious and friendly companion, who likes to nap on my husband’s lap and give affectionate headbutts. We’re not sure of his age, but the vets who treated him estimated him to be around 5yrs old so maybe born spring of 2019. He's fairly docile around our 4 female cats, but we’re currently keeping them separated because the females don’t interact well with strange cats. Wally weighs approx. 8lbs with a long, lean build and very long, bushy tale. He’s quite the handsome fellow! Neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and negative for fiv/felv. Adoption fee $60. Story
WENONA  (Her name is a Native American word meaning "first born daughter") is a dainty, beautiful calico with medium length hair & a fluffy tail; born mid-April.  She's sassy, playful, curious, did we sassy? - and also pretty timid & afraid of anything new - thats why she needs someone who will be patient & work with her. Bribing with food like real chicken or tuna (or anything the cat really likes) is usually the way to a scared kitty's heart - Wenona needs someone to spend several weeks providing as much one-to-one food bribery as possible; and she'd blossom even further! Wenona was among a group of young outdoor kittens who were caught & brought inside for socializing (away from their feral momcat) - she's social, but only to a point; will allow petting and holding in very small doses; mostly reserved & standoffish at this point. She'd do best in a tranquil home without a lot of noise & activity.  They came from a Miami Avenue address, so all were named for Indian Tribes & American Indian names.  They were all bought inside when they were pretty young & grew up together with a variety of cats & kittens in their foster home. Litter mates; Sequoia (Tortie F), Tecumseh (Bl & White M) and Wenona (Calico F) were born to a semi-feral, outside mom-cat around mid-April, 2024. (Momcat was spayed & vacc'd - no more kittens for her!).  They grew up with close cousins, Lakota, Cheyenne & Miami, Cherokee, Choctaw & Comanche, who were born around the same time to other outside momcats, adult siblings (they was also spayed & vacc'd - no more kittens for them either!)    Adoption fee (75.00) includes Spay or Neuter, vaccinations, combo-tested - negative for FeLV & FIV, and micro-chipped.  (Or double your fun with a 2nd kitty at discounted price - 2 for $125!) If interested in adopting, please fill out our application at  http://www.purrfectfriendscatrescue.org/adoptform.    November 2, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
Meet Garnet: The Sassy, Playful, and Snuggly Orange Tabby! Introducing Garnet, a rare female orange tabby born around April 15, 2024, and part of the Crystal Gems litter. Garnet is a unique girl with a big personality—she’s loving and friendly one minute, and then suddenly in need of her space, living up to her "orange tabby" reputation! Garnet is as independent as she is affectionate. She adores playing, especially with her favorite toys like the red dot laser light and dangling stick toys. You’ll often find her lurking under the sofa, ready to pounce on anything that moves—especially if it’s your toys or feet walking by! When she’s in the mood for love, Garnet is as snuggly as they come, but she also has her moments where she needs to be left alone to just be mad at the world. She gets along well with other cats and her foster dog siblings, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household. Garnet is the perfect mix of playful, quirky, and cuddly—all rolled into one adorable orange tabby package. Garnet is in excellent health, has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccinations. She has also tested negative for FIV/Felv, so she’s ready to find her forever family! You can adopt Garnet for just $75, or if you're considering doubling the fun, you can adopt two kittens together for only $125. If Garnet sounds like the spunky, lovable addition your family needs, please fill out our adoption application at http://www.purrfectfriendscatrescue.org/adoptform.html.
