Story
Beef Curry is a handsome male kitten who was brought to the HSOV on September 18, 2024 along with his brother (Chicken Curry) by a Good Samaritan who found them in Marietta Ohio fending for themselves without their mother in sight. Bean Curry and Chicken Curry were estimated to have been 7-weeks old at that time. Their third brother (Bean Curry) had bee brought to HSOV on September 11th. This good-looking boy has a dark brown tabby medium-haired coat, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable kitten face with golden eyes, nice 'ear furnishings', a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. Beef Curry was given vaccinations and Pyrantel wormer on September 18, 2024. He weighed 1.5 lbs that day. Beef Curry was given booster vaccines on October 3rd and October 16th 2024. These photos of Beef Curry were taken on November 2, 2024 when he ventured into our 'studio'. His brother (Chicken Curry) accompanied him for moral support since Beef Curry was a little unsure of going 'solo' without his soulmate to provide a sense of comfort/security .. And, sure enough, within minutes Beef Curry had the courage to begin playing with fake flower blossoms and tiny pumpkins (smile). Beef Curry and his two brothers (Bean Curry and Chicken Curry) are currently sharing a cat tower in the lobby of our shelter where they entertain each other with silly kitten games before 'crashing' for a group nap. Beef Curry and his brothers will be neutered before being adopted by their new family/families (a requirement for HSOV adoptions to be finalized). They are also available for rescue. Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation. Update: Beef Curry was neutered on December 17, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 6.4 lbs that day.

Story
Popeye is a beautiful female kitten who was brought to the HSOV on August 31, 2024 along with her sister (Olive Oil) after they were found fending for themselves on Greene Street in Marietta Ohio. Popeye and Olive Oil were tiny 4-week old babies at that time. Popeye was desperately in need of medical attention since her right eye was extremely swollen and bulging out of the socket. Popeye was taken to one of our compassionate veterinarians where she underwent surgery on September 5, 2024 for the enucleation (removal) of her right eye. The surgery was successful and stitches were removed on September 16th. This little beauty has a black medium-haired coat with a small patch of white on her chest, a long fluffy tail, and an adorable chubby kitten face with a black velvet nose and long black whiskers. Her left eye is golden. Popeye was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on September 2, 2024. She was given booster vaccines on September 17th and October 16th 2024. These updated photos of Popeye were taken in our 'studio' on December 15, 2024 when she and her sister Olive Oil posed for their 'big girl' glamour photos. Both of these little girls have friendly, playful personalities. Popeye and Olive Oil have never been separated since birth and are very bonded with each other, so we believe that it is in their best interest to be adopted together. They provided comfort/security for each other as well as having a best friend to play with and snuggle up with. Popeye and Olive Oil will be spayed in the near future and will soon be ready to find their dream home. Update: Popeye was spayed on December 17, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 4.15 lbs that day. Popeye was adopted with her sister (Olive Oil) on December 18, 2024.

Story
Marie is a beautiful little 1 1/2 year old girl, with medium black and white fur. She came in with older kitten named Dutchess. They were both in the community cat room and did really well with other cats. Dutchess has been since adopted. Marie has enjoyed being in the community room at the shelter with other cats and had close companionship with some of them. One of them in particular is Monty. These two enjoyed cuddling up together in the cat beds in the room. Recently Marie and Monty were given the chance to be housed together at the SPOT Clinic. They are continuing to settle in and getting the chance to have more individual time spent with staff. Marie is hoping her forever person will be arriving soon at the shelter to take her home.

Story
Meet Ziggy! This boy is 4 months old and is awaiting his adoption day with his buddy Mazie at Pet Supplies Plus in Vienna. He did come into the shelter very sick, with an upper respiratory infection. He was being treated for it in a foster home. Unfortunately some upper respiratory infections can cause issues to the eyes. Thats what happened with Ziggy and he had to have the one surgically removed. He has recovered very well and doesn’t think he’s any different than a kitten with both eyes. If you would like to adopt him And Mazie, submit an adoption application through the website or in person at Pet Supplies Plus.
