THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Purrfect Friends Cat Rescue and its volunteers have not evaluated this animal in any way and can not be held liable for the current condition or future care of the animal. Please work with the specific contact in the posting to confirm if the animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, etc. and for a complete description of the animal's personality and behavior traits. Boy was my dad's favorite cat caring for him initially as an  outdoor cat, even neutering him and taking him to the vet, as needed,  when he hurt himself outside.  After many years, Dad coaxed Boy to " retire" inside.  Boy established himself as the dominant cat in the  home - not at all mean or hurtful to the other cats, simply a gentle  dictator.  Boy loves to lap sit.  His teeth are not in great shape, but  he eats well. He seems sensitive to a lot of petting. Dad thought his  sensitivity was due to the rough time he experienced as an outside cat.   Boy would be best loved and cared for by another retired gentleman who  would love to have one faithful lap cat. His owner passed away unexpectedly and he and his feline siblings are looking for new homes. Contact Ginger for more information  catmom4766@gmail.com or  937-693-3910 June 30, 2024, 9:25 am

Please work with the specific contact in the posting to confirm if the animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested, etc. and for a complete description of the animal's personality and behavior traits. Precious was an outdoor cat and mother of 4 when we found her in the West End next to our building. She has been through a lot in the last 4 weeks (spayed, shots, locked in a cage, brought to several locations and now in a more open area) yet transitioning from being in a cage to an open area and learning to actually play for the first time in her life. Precious will need a patient and loving foster   parent/Forever home who will continue her socialization and her ability to fully understand love and affection unconditionally. She is learning trust and likes to hang out and observe people before approaching. She is partial to Women as they have a softer voice which she is attracted to and feels most comfortable. Currently Precious is making progress on her own terms yet really wants a forever home. Contact Kimberly  kimothyhruse@gmail.com or 513-673-2795June 30, 2024, 9:25 am

Do you believe in second chances? Awesome Possum (the cat) is hoping so, because he would love to find a new home! Possum was spotted by a teacher drinking out of a frozen fountain at Walnut Hills high school in January. He looked scraggly and thin (and kind of like a possum!) so a plan was set to trap him and help him. He was unaltered, so he was brought to OAR for neuter and vaccines. Under his medium length coat, he only weighed about 8lbs (an average male cat weighs 11lbs). OAR determined he had a chipped canine tooth, so he was then brought to another vet to have that removed. He is estimated to be be 5-7 years old. Upon holding him for a recovery period, Possum began to show that he was a good kitty! He began meowing, seeking out pets, playing with toys, being picked up and held and even getting a bubble bath...all within about a week! So Possum probably had an owner at one point, but was discarded and abandoned and left to fend for himself outside. Currently he loves food (a lot!), getting brushed and petted, catnip toys, ball track toys, making biscuits, and sitting in a cat condo looking out the window.  Possum would love to find a forever home. I am happy to offer (and encourage) a trial period so you can be sure he is right for you before committing to adopting.  Possum would probably do best in a quiet home with older children and/or adults. He would also need to be the only pet in the home.   Possum is FIV+ which basically means he has a weaker immune system, but will still lead a long and normal life. FIV cannot be transmitted to other pets through the sharing of food/litter/playing/grooming etc. However, this is not significant since I am looking for him to be the only pet in the home anyway.   Please reach out to me at 513-520-4124 if you are interesting in adopting Possum! I'm glad to tell you more about him over the phone, and then set up a meet and greet if you like! He may be a little shy at first, but will come out of his shell quickly.June 30, 2024, 9:25 am

Story
Wally showed up in early November of 2023, when we caught a glimpse of him dashing out of our garage with a bag of cat treats in his mouth. The treats were intended for a semi-feral tomcat we had been trying to domesticate. He showed up again the next day, looking for more food, and it was apparent that he was malnourished and could hardly open his eyes. We managed to get him in a crate and took him to Kitty Angel where he received food and fluids and his condition was assessed. During the exam it was discovered that  he had an intestinal infection and  his eyes were entropion, meaning the bottom eyelids were flipped over, causing severe irritation. After a month of treatment, the  intestinal infection cleared up and the vet determined that they could move forward with correcting his entropic condition. Two surgeries later, his sparkly green eyes were finally visible and he was free from the irritation that must have plagued him his entire life. His demeanor and disposition improved dramatically after the surgery, and he became much more affectionate and playful. He still has his moments and may nip a little if startled and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but he’s a curious and friendly companion, who likes to nap on my husband’s lap and give affectionate headbutts. We’re not sure of his age, but the vets who treated him estimated him to be around 5yrs old so maybe born spring of 2019. He's fairly docile around our 4 female cats, but we’re currently keeping them separated because the females don’t interact well with strange cats. Wally weighs approx. 8lbs with a long, lean build and very long, bushy tale. He’s quite the handsome fellow! Neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and negative for fiv/felv. Adoption fee $60. Story
Sweetie was surrendered by her previous owner who had rescued a lot of kitties and got overwhelmed. She was very pregnant at the time and gave birth shortly after arriving to her foster's home to 4 beautiful kittens. Sweetie was a wonderful mother & loved her babies, however they are now ready for adoption and so is she. She is a sweet girl, a petite kitty weighing only a bit over 6 pounds. She is young and still playful, likes other kitties. All HART kittens and cats are vet checked, combo tested, spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and on flea and tick preventative. If you are interested in any of our kitties, you must complete an online cat adoption application available at www.rescueahart.org/adopt/cat-application. The application will put you in touch with a HART volunteer. Thanks!
