Hi there, my name is Kancha! I am a 4 year old gray cat who was brought to CHA with my friend Anu when our owner could no longer care for us. I am an absolute ham for attention, and gazing into my slow-blinking eyes while I sit in your lap will surely make you fall in love. I would thrive in a quiet home where I could bask in a sun beam and soak up all of your love. Noni is a sweet, independent and laid-back 2 year old cat. He loves staring in the window, playing fetch with his favorite spring toy and late night cuddles. He loves to play as he is still very young. And if there’s a fly in the house, rest assured he will be determined to catch it. I rescued him as a stray during pandemic as a friend for my dog during the days I had to work. He’s good with both dogs and cats as long as he is gradually introduced, he will adjust over time. He’s easily persuaded with food and treats. He HATES being brushed and will try to bite the brush. But he will let a groomer touch him so no worries there. He’s up to date on all of his shots. My boyfriend is allergic and the medicine he takes is starting to not work anymore. Plus since we moved from Cincinnati I had to take a lower paying job so affording him and my dog had become a bit much for us. We are looking for someone who can give the proper cat love he needs.

Smokey was a feral kitty when I got her. She has always had attitude issues, with hissing and anger. But when it was just me, it wasn't really bad. I have had her for 8 years now and I have gotten married and added a Bullmastiff. Her attitude has gotten worse, she hisses at all of us and is using the potty in places she never has in the past because she is used to having her way. She does still have her claws and she has scratched every door frame and wall in our house now. She doesn't like having to share her space or her person, having to do both has made her unmanageable for us. I won't send her to the pound, but something has to happen, she is destroying our home, none of our blinds are in one piece. Smokey needs a home with no other animals and only a few people.

Despite his rugged appearance, Buddy is anything but feral—he’s a gentle soul looking for a loving home. Buddy’s distinctive chewed-up ears add character to his already unique look, telling tales of his adventures on the streets. He was named “Buddy” by our volunteers because of his incredibly friendly and affectionate nature—he's the kind of cat who will follow you around, always eager to be by your side. Buddy is FIV+ and FeLV-, which might sound intimidating, but with proper care, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a slow-acting virus that affects a cat's immune system, similar to HIV in humans. Regular vet check-ups, a nutritious diet, and keeping Buddy indoors will help him thrive. FIV is not easily transmitted and can only be spread through deep bite wounds, so Buddy can live safely with other non-aggressive cats. Buddy has been neutered and vaccinated. He’s had some teeth removed, meaning he would do best with regular dental care and a diet of soft food. He also has a heart murmur, but these conditions don’t slow him down.  Black cats often get overlooked, but we’re hoping that won’t be the case with Buddy. Brother to Sledgehammer and Chainsaw- Lawnmower was rescued as a baby under a shed but quickly became a friendly person-centric kitten. Lawnmower has always been the most vocal of the brothers and will use his goofy screams to get love and attention from every person he sees. He loves being held like a baby and having his chest and belly scratched or eating a churu treat. She has had an amazing journey which we have published a children's story book on. Polly was lost in 2016 and found in 2022. We were able to get information on the owner and original shelter who adopted Polly out as she had a microchip. Unfortunately, the owner who was an international student in 2016 had returned to China. We agreed to take Polly after approaching the original rescue and they did not want to take back Polly.
